Micki’s Act Began Act 3
My vision: Be recognized as a writer that will work with the industry and would do what it takes to be that WRITER.
EMPOWERED!
What I learned from doing this assignment is it is going so well that something is about to happen. Still racing against the timer. I didn’t expect to do ACT 3 this fast or get to it. This speed writing against the timer and listening to music helps. Doing 15 minutes speed writing three times. Two times a day. This is so outstanding. I got to go. Got some writing to do. Bye.

KRISTIN BEGAN ACT 3
VISION: I want the personal, professional, and financial freedom and joy that come from writing so well that I’m in demand, selling beyond my wildest dreams, and making worthy projects—on a big scale and with my active, collegial participation.
WHAT I LEARNED in this assignment: That it really does WORK to choose speed over quality…at this stage to just get the bones down. I do this for writing other kinds of work—just create a draft to begin with. I don’t know why I thought I needed to make “perfect scenes” in a movie, but not in a book. Duh.
HOW’S IT GOING? The only thing that’s not “fast” is that some of my scenes are quite long. I don’t really “know what’s going to happen” until I start writing them, and as they flesh out, I just take whatever time it takes. However, even having said that, I wrote 16 pages of Act 3 today (along with finishing 2 scenes from Act 2 this morning). So I think I’m still going “fast,” just not 5-minutes-per-scene fast. A-okay!

Rebecca’s Began Act 3
Vision: My success in this program will lead me to be the go-to writer for producers looking for incredible scripts for successful movies enjoyed by a vast viewing audience.
What I learned from doing this assignment is that once I started writing on Act 3, it was hard to quit. I wanted to stay in that world. Two marathon sessions later, I finished the act.
How it’s going: I found that the deeper I got into Act 3, the harder it was to quit writing once I started. Today I finished Act 3 and moving on to Act 4. I’m amazed at how fast time flew when I began to write and got immersed in the story. Some scenes ended up different than I expected, and I may need to make sequencing changes in the next draft.
-
Jeffrey Alan Chase Began Act 3
My vision: I am an “A” list writer who is known for high concept ideas, great execution, a string of successful movies and is always ready to share his knowledge and do what he can to help another writer on the way up.
What I learned from doing this assignment is: I’m moving faster than I was, keep catching myself starting to edit and have to slap myself around a bit and move on to the next scene. Having a lot of fun at this!
Title: Shards
Genre: Psychological Thriller
Logline: A woman with no childhood memory is involved in a cat and mouse game with a cunning hypnotist not knowing the man is responsible for both her amnesia and the death of her treasure hunter father.
-
Pat Began Act 3
Vision: I have the talent and tenacity to create contest winning screenplays, and I will go on to have my scripts optioned and produced.
What I learned: Do not stray from the outline! I found myself adding a scene that I thought was necessary, only to realize that, not only was it unnecessary, it would’ve screwed up several other outlined scenes. I quickly deleted it and moved forward.
How it’s going: My inner critic almost got the better of me. I was about to deem my story as ridiculous and not worthy of continuing. But I forged ahead, this time the inner critic saying, hey, it’s not so bad after all. And this is just the first draft. I will soon have time to fix what I don’t like about it, but the first draft needs to be completed … well, first.
-
Sandra Began Act 3
Vision: I am doing what I love to do as a writer with several successful produced movies.
What I learned doing this assignment is that I was able to write 3 pages per day – yeah!
-
Farrin Rosenthal Began Act 3
Farrin’s Vision: To do what it takes to become a highly paid A-List Hollywood writer whose produced movies will entertain audiences around the world.
What I learned doing this assignment to is silence our inner critic, especially when writing a first draft. Remember, the first daft is a 30% draft, and therefore will most likely suck. Save the inner critic for the last draft and even then treat yourself right. You’ve accomplished something amazing. Made something from a blank page!
As I begin writing Act 3, I’m finding holes in my outline. This is really what I should be doing in the second draft but some things just become obvious now. I am creating new scenes while sticking to the outline where the new scenes still honor the story and high concept.
Nothing will stop me from completing this first draft!
-
My Vision: I want to be a great award-winning, successful writer, known for her genre, who creates the most beautiful films that inspire others to feel deeply, pause, and ponder ways to make the world a better place
Title: THE NUN AND THE WITCH
Genre: (mystical /Sci-fi )
Concept: A dedicated nun destined to become a saint, bonds with a witch to achieve a sacred task to battle the evils of hatred consuming the heart of humanity, only to find out that time is running out.
HOW IT WENT. I am working hard to just keep moving forward. I am close to the end of Act 3 but will need to add a few new scenes in the second draft. Had a family loss and could get myself to write but will try tomorrow.
-
Leona Heraty Began Act 3
My Vision: To be the best family comedy screenwriter in the industry where my screenplays are produced into fabulous movies, making audiences laugh a lot and making me independently wealthy! What I learned from doing this assignment is…to keep writing, regardless of the quality and have fun without judging the quality of my writing.
Title: Tara vs. the Termo-Lytes
Genre: Comedy (Sci-fi)
Concept: A teenage tour guide with no sense of direction and an extreme fear of bugs takes a wrong turn and leads her group to an abandoned country club that’s overrun with giant mutant termites.
How the high-speed writing rules are working for me with starting Act 3: I’m enjoying the process and it’s a relief to not edit as I write, and just let the words and scenes flow.-

Terrie Begins Act III
Vision:
I get paid to write screenplays that get made into crowd pleasing successful films using a process that allows me to keep up my equestrian hobby. What I learned doing this assignment is I need to find small bits of time to keep making progress.
It went okay today but I had stayed away from the script for longer than is good. But I did get first drafts of 3 scenes today. I know I’ll get caught up.
-
ROBERT SMITH BEGAN ACT 3
MY VISION FOR SUCCESS AFTER THIS PROGRAM
I want to become a great writer who delivers entertaining, informative, and uplifting scripts that sell and get produced.
WHAT I LEARNED FROM DOING THIS ASSIGNMENT IS…?
At present, I am the ‘critic’ and must ignore the inner critic that keeps me back
from proceeding by unwarranted criticism..
HOW IS IT GOING FOR YOU?
Act 3 is begun and close to conclusion. Going beautifully. The empowerment continues to work.
-
Gisele Frazeur Begin Act 3
My vision: I am going to work diligently to become a brilliant, reliable screenwriter who is sought after, regularly produced, highly paid, and awarded. Artistic fulfillment and financial freedom will result from the achievement of this goal!
What I learned doing this assignment is: My speed writing is still pretty slow – – BUT – – it is sooooooooo much faster than it was before. I’ll take it. It can only get better and better. I loved the empowerment statement given us: I can create at any time. It is really helping to immediately get me into productivity mode with a positive attitude. Thanks. I like the fact my characters are speaking up and saying things that surprise me.
Title: On the Scent
Genre: Thriller
-
Lori Began Act 3
Vision: I want to be a professional screenwriter recognized by the industry as the go-to for family-friendly scripts and have multiple successful movies produced.
What I learned: I’m happy to have started Act 3, though I’m not as far along as I wish, and my page count isn’t quite where it should be. And I’m fighting the inner critic. However, I continue to be amazed by the high-speed process.
-
Joe McGloin began Act III
Vision: I am a talented, highly regarded, efficient, relaxed, happy, WGA screenwriter
What I learned doing this assignment is stay confident. Have fun.
How it’s going: It’s going fast-er, which is a main goal.
-
Claudia’s Began Act 3
Vision: To become such an excellent
writer that I know every script I write will be well received by the industry,
that my scripts will sell and be produced, and I’ll live the life of my dreams.
To also become so empowered that fear is to be laughed at, instead I relish and
look forward to pitching, meetings and much moreHow’s It Going… Okay, the first few pages I was writing the old way BUT FASTER. I’m just catching up on the Mastery Sessions and emails that I somehow forgot to read. OY… AND yesterday I started writing to a timer… OMG… It was GREAT! I suddenly feel so much more empowered to get the first draft completed much faster.
-
Jacqueline Murphy Began Act 3 MOD 5 Les 9
MY Vision: To empower myself to be an A+ List writer, actress, producer whose scripts are optioned, sought after and made into TV shows & Film that inspire, receive critical acclaim, awards and are financially successful and emotional satisfying.
What I learned I started this morning realizing my act 2 was short I had only 25 pages but now that I’ve begun and kept going I’m up to Act 4!!! I have 47 pages! Page counting is another type of criticism and I love the empowerment today. IGNORE UNWARRENTED CRITICISM> I can fix this later but keep going. Reminding self: Stick figure; rough outline. Get it down! All the quotes, learning and empowerment from the last few weeks have helped. I don’t want to count pages but in the past many Beat sheets like Save the Cat say at page 30 you should be here…I’m just going for it. Trusting this process. And internalizing all the things I’m learning about empowerment, speed writing and confidence in writing.
1. Do State-To-Activity empowerment process.
State: I am completely willing…Activity: …to ignore unwarranted criticism.
-
Amechi Began Act 3
MY VISION

do the hard work. -
Andrew Kelm Began Act 3
Vision: I am going to do whatever it takes to be a great writer of TV and movies who is sought after by people I respect within the industry and has multiple successful TV series produced.
What I learned doing this assignment is… I am plowing through to catch up. 9 more pages today. I keep reminding myself to not fix anything and just keep going. I didn’t realize those voices were still there. So I guess the fact that I am noticing them more means that I am getting better.
FATEMONGERS; a psychic with a blind spot for abusive men uses subtle manipulations to murder a sexual predator who seduces her to get to her sons.
-
John T’s Began Act 3
Vision: to become a reliable box office success and entertain audiences all over the world.
I am completely willing to ignore my own internal criticism – that is the goal for today’s lesson. Did I succeed? For the most part, yes. I still grapple with word choice; hard to resist replacing stride with walk, that sort of thing. It helps knowing this, too, shall pass.

MY VISION: I want to write great movies. Movies that are magical, movies that move people and tell the truth. I want to write movies that stars will want to be in
This was yesterday’s work. It was hard getting ready for Thanksgiving and getting any writing done. I am hoping tomorrow will be different though. I will make time in the morning. As for yesterday.
