Hi! I’m Margaret Silebi. I have written four scripts (threw away the first one it was so bad!). I hope to enhance my dramedy with better comedy in this class. Something unique about me: I play the harp.

Hi! My name is ArtÅ«rs Kozels. So far I’ve written two scripts- the first one was total garbage, on the second one I worked for 1.5 years, and both I have sent to Nicholl Fellowship. Crossing my fingers, although I keep writing and don’t even think about it… To be honest, I hope to observe new knowledge and get better at what I love to do 🙂

Something unique about me? I’m from Latvia.

    Hi Everyone,

Henrietta here. I’ve written several shorts, a couple of feature-length scripts, a kid’s tv series, and a dramedy tv-series story outline. I hope to improve my writing. Something unique about me… hmm, ok. I painted a telephone box (the old British red ones) yellow with purple dots. Yes, I was drunk at the time, and 16 (hey, this was in Scotland, everyone gets drunk at 16 in Scotland).

    Patricia Brown, Esq.

I may or maybe not have written ten.

I hope to learn how to write more than the one joke I can ever remember: A woman with a migraine went to see her doctor. He said, let me ask you a few questions. Do you smoke? “No, doctor.” Do you drink? “No, doctor.” Do you fool around? Oh, no, doctor!” He said to her, “Then I know what’s wrong with you! Your halo’s too tight!”

At age 43, I won a contest and flew around the world on the Concorde in 31 hours and 43 seconds–and I was pregnant!

Is anyone else having difficulty accessing the course. My profile says I have one course, but when I click on it, it says I have no courses???

Hi, I’m Alan Larson. I’ve written a handful of Comedy screenplays. I hope to improve my Comedy skillset and improve my existing scripts. Something unique: I can’t make right turns on my bicycle. Wondering while watching ROXANNE if anyone else noticed that when C.D. left Roxanne’s house after climbing up to the open window, that the front door didn’t have a deadbolt, but instead had a single lock that could’ve been easily opened with a Mastercard?

I’m sorry that I didn’t do this sooner.

    Hello Everyone!!

    1. Name? I like to be called Christy, but my full name is LuChristy Waites.

    2. How many scripts you’ve written? 8: 3 shorts, 1 Hour TV pilot, 4 features. Working on my first comedy animated feature meant for the entire family, but aimed at children ages 8 years and up.

    3. What you hope to get out of the class? I know what the elements of comedy are, but I need the practice in order to purposefully write a very funny comedy or be able to put purposeful comedy into any screenplay genre.

    4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you? I like fantasy, but fantasy that’s really more towards the supernatural and the really weird than simply having stories with fairies, elves, dwarves, and such. I really love dragons. If I can fit a dragon into a story, I will. I also love Vampires and untypical zombies stories that make common sense (still a big Walking Dead fan).

And for those of you who wonder about my avatar, that’s me as a Wood Fae known as The FantaSim. Long story. Maybe I’ll share one day.

    My name is Eclipse Neilson,

I have written 2 full feature scripts and I am working on two new ones.

I am working on my first drama/comedy and hope this class will help.

I am a unique person simply by my name (LOL), but I guess what is unique about me is I don’t give up easily for example years ago, I took on a corrupt town, led a two year campaign and freed an old lonely elephant from a life time in chains and neglect so that she could go to a sanctuary and live her last few years with a another of her species and freedom.

    Hi everyone,

I’ve written a bunch of scripts (mostly sucky)… I’ve been optioned a few times and sold two comedies… Nothing produced yet. I’m currently in MSC-15 Phase 3, working on a romcom.

    hello writers

    I am darryl brant

I’ve written 4 features. But they are not good enough.

I hope to learn how to make my writing funnier.

I cannot pronounce the word ‘anonymity.’

Hi, I’m Joseph R. Basci, call me Ron.

I’ve written and produced several scripts, including: three unproduced screenplays; a documentary short – aired nationwide; a dramatic short -“The First Responder”, currently competing its festival run with two best drama awards; two comedy shorts episodes of “Freddy”, as part of a series in development.

As one who approaches topics from an out-of-the-box perspective, my goal here is to develop a better understanding of conventional comedy structures.

I’m Will and I am relatively new at this. I have written a kid’s TV show and a feature that needs oodles and oodles of rewrites. I hope to learn numerous technics for writing fall-down funny scripts to make a bundle. As a kid, I was always the class clown and I think it is time for that to pay off in the entertainment industry. I remember in the second grade we were forced to give our teacher a Christmas gift. I found myself in a hardware store and convinced my mother to buy my teacher a nightgown. When she opened the box she turned red and I yelled from the back row, “try it on.” The classroom erupted into laughter. I often wondered if my teacher got some serious action in that hardware lingerie or if she took it home and burned it.

    Hello, everybody!

I’m Veleka Gray and I’ve been studying with Hal since June, 2010.

I’ve written about 37 scripts, mainly for films I shoot with my acting students. I have them improvise a scenario in class and call out lines to them when they run dry. Then the scenes are typed up and the students “star” in a class film. It’s a lot of fun for everyone. 🙂

Since the next class film is a comedy, I’m here to learn more about the genre so our summer film is the best it can be.

Maybe the most unique thing about me is that until 1970, I was the only Veleka in the Western hemisphere. But alas! Once I started performing on soap operas, pregnant women stole my unique name for their babes. There are now hundreds of Velekas out there, and few know that the name is actually an adjective that means “great”. I’m still striving to live up to that. 😛

Looking forward to having fun with all of you!

Hi. My name is Lora. I’m not sure of how many scripts I have written. I wrote a satire short story that got some great feedback and was actually very easy to write so I wanted to learn more about comedy screenwriting. I don’t think of myself as a comedy writer but maybe it is a skill I can learn. That’s the goal. 🙂

    Hi, I’m Pat.

I’ve written three scripts, but that was several years ago. I’m working hard to get back into screenwriting, and I seem to accidentally write funny. When this class appeared, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to rehone any comedy writing skills that I have.

    Hello,

I’m Nancy and I have written 2 TV pilots, 1 feature draft and hoping this class will help me shape a new idea that seems to be lending itself to comedy. I have completed MSC 14 and BW4.

Unique? I created and owned my own fitness business and ran it for 10 years before pursuing my passion for writing.
