What I learned from this assignment?
Just throw your darlings right into the middle of the chaos and don’t explain it.

What I learned from this assignment is to show who your character is without saying a word. With watching this scene, I thought of rewriting my intro to my main character in a way that will showcase who he will be throughout the movie and what makes him special.

What I learned rewriting my scene is that having my protagonist be confronted with the danger posed by the antagonist, either directly or indirectly, throughout the scene, is much more entertaining and challenging for me as a writer.

Week 2 Day 1: Character Intro that Sells Actors.
Objective: Create Character Introductions that attract actors and engage audiences in the character.
Insights into the – LOST – Intro Jack Character Scene
What I learned rewriting my character introduction scene:
• My character introduction was very weak, in ways separate from the background situation.
• It is taking me a longer time than expected to integrate the background action and dialogue with my main character attributes, dialogue, and action.
• I may have to rethink the introduction of my character, or the background situation.
-
Show your character through action, and not always dialogue.

It’s important to show characters in action-packed and interesting scenes. This is but one piece of the puzzle that will distinguish me as a writer and make my stories more captivating. Let the audience see things they’ve never experienced before.
