I am Robert Russell (Bob) Smith. I am a playwright and an alumnus of Screenwritingu. I live in Elkton, Maryland and I am a retired Episcopal Priest. I am almost finished with my screenplay adaptation of my prize-winning gangster-comedy, “Angels in Gangland.” I also have started work/research on 3 other projects. Now the question is, how to get scripts to Power Players. So I am very excited about the class and meeting and working with more fellow writers.

My name is Christi Falk and I live in Edmonton, Alberta Canada.
I’ve written 3 features, one tv spec, a handful of shorts. I’ve only had one produced short.
I’m currently taking the Mastery class to double the quality of my writing and realized there’s no point on having superior scripts if nobody knows about them. I’d be the Beta in a VHS world.
A unique thing about me is that I don’t care about fame, just money. You can’t eat an Oscar! My dream is to find someone with a strong pedigree that can’t write a lick and get a 6 figure income from selling them my stories. Not sure if that qualifies as unique but it’s been strange to everyone I’ve met so far!

Hi everyone!
My name is Gregory Kiernan Ballines and I’ve written eight screenplays so far. What I hope to get out of this class is to hone my marketing abilities as I continue to develop my creative skills in writing. Something that people usually find unusual about me is that I have eleven siblings but to be honest I’m kind of used to it lol

Hi, I’m Jane
So far, I’ve written one, 105-page feature script. I’ve also written 3 sitcom spec scripts.
3. What you hope to get out of the class?
Mainly to learn how to improve my script through learning about the marketing process; and to learn ways to market better and enjoy marketing.
4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you?
That I live a balanced life and maintain good relationships with family and friends

Hello,
My name is Isti Madarasz, I live in Budapest, Hungary in Europe.
I’ve written 3 scripts and did rewrites on some more since I’m a director and I like to shape scripts to my own taste.
I’m working on a new project (actually two) which I would love to make in English and start an international career. I know how Hungarian film industry works but it’s time to learn new things.
Unfortunately, English is not my mother tongue, so writing a script in English is already a challenge, but I love to learn and I expect this course to give me a little bit of a taste of the international environment. Plus, I live in a completely different time zone than you, so I might log in at odd times 🙂
And finally: my name is actually Madarász Isti, but in Hungarian languange we use the first and last names in reverse order.

1) My name is Mark Lederkramer but I usually go by Mark Kramer In fact most people just call me Kramer
2) I am actually working on my first screenplay which will be focused on HBO, Showtime, FX, Netflix, Amazon, Apple, Hulu, as this will be for a TV series
3) I want to learn or get better at pitching my finished treatment and pilot episode. I hope to learn how to get my treatment and pilot to major producers/ showrunners especially those that are originally from New York.
4) The most interesting thing is that this series will be based on my real-life experiences as a high-ranking member of one of the most influential Marijuana smuggling and dealing crew in the 1970’s and 1980’s in New York.
As a side note I have walked over 10 feet of burning hot coals three times. Twice in New York and one time in California. After the second time in New York, I made the lifechanging decision to move to Hollywood to pursue a career as an actor at the age of thirty with no real acting experience. Now I have switched my focus on writing about my experiences as a high-ranking member of the Marijuana smuggling and dealing crew in Brooklyn, New York

Hi,
I’m Richard Brooks.
I have written a number of screenplays over the years.
My last script I would like to take to market to sell and obtain representation.
I directed a feature and an award winning short film a few years ago and I’m interested in directing and producing as well.

Is anyone else currently in this forum? My most pressing question is – should I simultaneously try to get an agent again, while trying to get my script to power players? Or should one effort be a priority? You can see about me as a writer here: https://fineday.com/1-songbird-writer/

1. Give us your Genre, Title, and Concept.
Genre: drama, paranormal, love storyTitle: I’ll Never Leave You, based on the memoir, White Roses.
Concept: This is an extraordinary love story. It gives the viewer a realistic look at how psychic abilities and synchronicities manifest to bring two people together and keep them together after one dies.
2. In one or two sentences, tell us what you think is most attractive about your story.
The viewer’s curiosity. Based on a true story, the viewer gets an up close look at how extraordinary psychic abilities allowed one woman to stay in touch with the man she would’ve married had he not died in a boating accident. You could say this is Ghost for grown-ups.3. Tell us which you will target FIRST — managers, producers, or actor’s production company — and why you picked that target.
My first target will be the female lead actor’s production company. She is uniquely qualified to play this role, and shares several important life experiences with the female character of the memoir from which this story comes. In addition, this role is an emotional challenge from any others she’s played.4. Answer the question “What I learned today is…?”
I’m taking this course to get a better understanding of the business of creativity. In other words, how to sell your creative work. -
Hi:
My name is Sandy Fox-Sohner and I have written two scripts. I had hoped to join this class when it began, but travel plans interfered so I am joining the class a bit late. I hope to learn how to make a professional and dynamite pitch to filmmakers that stirs their emotions and creates excitement about my script. I do a lot of volunteer work, encouraging middle school girls and boys to enter STEM careers and follow their dreams even when it is hard. I look forward to reading the posted assignments of others in this class. Cheers! -
