    Hi everyone,

I’m glad you’ve joined us for the class.

To start the class out, please introduce yourself below. That will give you a chance to be part of this group and learn how the forums work.

    Tell us the following:

    1. Name?

    2. How many scripts you’ve written?

    3. What you hope to get out of the class?

    4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you?

We look forward to working with you all!

Hey there, I’m Dawn Greenfield, formerly Dawn Ireland.

I’m currently rebranding myself back to my family name (Greenfield) and giving Ireland the old heave ho after several decades.

Out of my 15 screenplays I only submit 6 or 7 to competitions. The rest need to be overhauled. One of my scripts (The Far Corner) has been a finalist in 9 competitions and a semifinalist in 7 competitions. It’s a psychological supernatural sci fi script.

Hmm, something strange about me? When I’m not writing (every day), I read 2-6 books a week.

I’m taking this class as a refresher for the structure of writing a script. Things I didn’t really learn decades ago from those old “experts” or things that have become faint.

Hi, I’m Caryn. I’ve written three scripts in the past, two pilots and one feature. I look forward to hacking out a complete, new feature script draft and learning how to write more quickly using this method. What’s unusual about me is how much I still believe in the power of stories to change people.

    Greetings, all,

I’m Tyrone. With several feature scripts and a slew of short films under my belt, you could say I’ve been around the block. Now, my mission here is to unlock the secret to faster first drafts.

A little tidbit about me – despite being a quiet and introverted soul, I’ve got this knack for hiding it well, especially when I’m in front of my students every day.

    Hi Everyone,

I’m Lin Fuentes. I’ve written 2 screenplays and 3 episodes of a TV comedy. Screenwriting U has been and remains instrumental in my learning. My hope for this course is to learn how to write a script in 30 days that is entertaining and marketable.

    Transformational Journey

    Hi, I’m Joel Stern.

This will be my sixth screenplay — my second — “Word Games” was a Finalist at the Cannes Screenplay Competition in 2016 and September Winner at the Toronto Horror/Thriller screenwriting competition (2017).

I took part in Writing Incredible Movies” last year and found it very helpful!

    My new script:

    It’s
1939 and war is about to break out in Europe. An OSS created assassin
    – with the ability to transform himself into others – is on a
mission to kill Hitler but instead is killing key European Allied
figures and Agent Ray Hillman is chosen to stop him.

    Hero:
    Agent Ray Hillman

    Internal
Journey: From War Isolationist to War Supporter

    External
    Journey: Not clear yet

    Old
    Ways: Not clear yet

    New
    Ways: Not clear yet

    Cheryl,

I can’t upload Lesson 2 to the Forums. There’s no link beyond Lesson 1. I’ve emailed you and entered a service request, but no one has ever responded.

Mornings are when I do my lessons. I’d like to upload them when I finish. Could you possibly make the links available every day when the lessons are due?

Does anyone else have this problem? I don’t know what’s going on.
