Suzanne’s Five Seasons
What I learned doing this assignment is … AI is great to bat things off of … makes it feel like a game and spurs my own creativity.
What I’ve learned from all the watching I’ve done in this and previous BW classes … I love a show with a cliffhanger makes me shout, “what the *#$?” it’s SO outrageous, and yet fits. That’s really been my goal.
The Bone Dance
One hour reversed-fairytale horror fantasy
Season 1: A Killer Soiree
Major Hook: (Unknown) Cinderella takes the Prince hostage at the ball & threatens to kill everyone in five days unless Queen Joan kills herself.
Big Picture Arc/Journey: Who is Cinderella, does she have anything to do with the (boneless) deaths around town? Which are multiplying … including a powerful Witch who knew everyone’s secrets. Her bones and skin are gone.
Main Conflict: Cinderella as plague. Queen Joan must choose between her own safety and everyone else to heal and save the country. Or at least keep it from spreading.
Mystery/Open Loops: Who is the Queen? Why is magic illegal? Where did Cinderella get such power? Why is everything here so … backward? Why at war for 100 years?
Cliffhanger: The Queen reveals her magic in order to stop Cinderella’s dancing plague. Cinders escapes to go build her army in another country. She needs 10,000 dead souls to invade Hell and rescue Father. The Queen follows to stop her (and save the prince, too).
Season 2: Tower of Gold
Major Hook: Rapunzel is locked into a tower because she can turn straw into gold. No one works, everyone shops, (except the soldiers) and that’s the way it’s been for 100 years. They’re at war for access to more ships, more stuff.
Big Picture Arc/Journey: Cinders frees Rapunzel, throwing the entire gold-based economy into chaos. Joan must escape prison to teach the citizens how to farm to avoid starvation.
Main Conflict: Cinders as Famine, Joan as Ceres
Mystery/Open Loops:
Cliffhanger: Rapunzel cuts off her hands, so she can’t turn straw into gold anymore. Cinders and co flee the furious mob and Joan appears to sacrifice herself … but it’s a distraction as she transforms everyone to safety.
Season 3: The House Always Wins
Major Hook: QJ and co lead a revolution to overthrow the 12 Dancing Princesses
Big Picture Arc/Journey: Freeing the country from a hierarchy that demands a man dance to death, every month of the year with a different princess. Freeing the people from thinking a month of high-living in this lottery justifies the deaths.
Main Conflict: Cinders as Civil War and Joan and Marie-Claire (stepmother) pretend to be opposing warlords to craft a peace.
Mystery/Open Loops:
Cliffhanger: Joan turns into a dragon to stop Cinders
Season 4: Peace, Love and a Magic Flute
Major Hook: Cinders and co. invade peace-loving and defenseless (country)
Big Picture Arc/Journey: Cinders is close to Hell and just lost her army. She enslaves everyone, turns on her company to leads them all into Hell, but Queen Joan’s final efforts reveal a whole other storyline.
Main Conflict: Cinders as Invasion and Joan as Defense
Mystery/Open Loops:
Cliffhanger: Queen Joan, in order to save the enslaved, takes Cinders alone into Hell. Joan is chided for “being late.”
Season 5: Helluva Family Tree
Major Hook: Why was Joan greeted like family?
Big Picture Arc/Journey: Joan’s origin story; who the Witch was, how Father fits in, who M-C is, why everything is backward and separated … and what happens next when Joan and M-C have to go home.
Main Conflict: Joan and Hades … as it’s been for centuries.
Mystery/Open Loops: What happens if Joan loses her magic/immortality? How to repair all the damage behind them? Can Joan leave Hell, seeing her true love (the King) there? Will M-C let go when her love (Father) is there? Will Cinders finally belong somewhere? Will someone finally want her?
Series finale: everyone gets their version of a happy ending. Cinders is Queen of Hell, Marie-Claire and Joan knit together the countries on their way back; M-C ends up ruling the magic council. Joan spends her magic and immortality bringing the ball attendees back to life. She sets sail to see the world …

I learned that there are seeds in season one that I never even thought about that could springboard another season. For instance, Dr. Blaine dies in season one. But she herself was a channel and was responsible for reducing the essence of children used in an experiment to blips on a computer program. I thought what if the split second before she dies, she reduces her essence to a blip on a computer program and then reanimates later by taking over a human receptacle. I know it sounds crazy, but that’s what I think about in my free time.
Season 1 – “Awakening”
- High Concept:
A teen fugitive with psychic abilities challenges a sinister government
agency, Hermes. - Big Picture Arc/Journey: Ryan navigates from rejecting his powers to embracing
them and the true nature of the spirits, laying the foundation for his
quest against Hermes. - Main Conflict:
Ryan evades capture by Hermes while unraveling the agency’s dark agenda
and preserving the lives of his classmates. - Mystery/Open Loops:
The origin and purpose of Ryan’s psychic abilities, the history of the
Christopher project, and Hermes’ ultimate goals. - Cliffhanger:
Leading his classmates to safety, Ryan faces an uncertain future, pursued
by Hermes.
Season 2 – “Revolution and Betrayal”
- High Concept:
Ryan and his allies strive to expose Hermes’ secrets, facing betrayal and
unforeseen consequences. - Big Picture Arc/Journey: The pursuit of justice transforms Ryan from a kid who
just wants to be a normal teen into a warrior battling against mind
control technology and a sinister alliance with Hermes. - Main Conflict:
Ryan battles Hermes’ manipulation of a town through psychic energy while
contending with internal divisions among his band. - Mystery/Open Loops:
The unintended consequences of psychic energy, (it causes strokes and
heart attacks as well as mind control) and Jimmy’s negotiation with
Hermes, (to save Ryan) and the mysterious past of Dr. Blaine. - Cliffhanger:
Facing a mind-controlled town, Ryan and his army confront a hostile and
manipulated population, teetering on the brink of disaster.
Season 3 – “Spiritual Awakening”
- High Concept:
Dr. Blaine’s return, (she’s a channel herself and before she died she
reduced her essence to a blip on a computer program,) merging with Indigo,
introduces a spiritual dimension and reveals alien influences linked to
the Christopher project. - Big Picture Arc/Journey: An unexpected event caused by the Christopher project
was the opening of a space bridge. Alien contact. A deeper exploration of
psychic connections and interdimensional forces, unraveling the mysteries
of the extraterrestrial involvement. - Main Conflict:
Ryan contends with the merged consciousness of Dr. Blaine and Indigo,
navigating the consequences of alien manipulation. - Mystery/Open Loops:
The true nature of the Christopher project, the extent of Dr. Blaine’s
channeling abilities, and the aliens’ hidden agenda. - Cliffhanger:
As the truth unfolds, Ryan faces a high-stakes confrontation with the
merged essence of Dr. Blaine and Indigo, intensifying the cosmic struggle.
Season 4 – “Alien Machinations”
- High Concept:
Ryan confronts a grand conspiracy as the aliens manipulate human
vulnerabilities, aiming for Earth’s weakening. Like the Russians feeding
misinformation into social media to change the outcome of an election,
aliens manipulate our technology to foment division among humans hoping to
start a war that will kill everyone to ready the planet for their
takeover. - Big Picture Arc/Journey: Exposing the aliens’ clandestine role in shaping human
destinies, Ryan races against time to thwart their cosmic agenda. - Main Conflict:
Humanity grapples with the covert extraterrestrial influence, while Ryan
strives to reveal the truth and counter the alien machinations. - Mystery/Open Loops:
The origins of the aliens, the extent of their knowledge, and the
repercussions of their interference in human affairs. - Cliffhanger:
Ryan faces the shocking revelation of Seth’s collaboration with the
aliens, reshaping the narrative and intensifying the battle for Earth’s
fate.
Season 5 – “Extraterrestrial Showdown”
- High Concept:
In a final face-off, Ryan and Jimmy unveil the aliens’ true intentions, culminating
in an extraterrestrial showdown. - Big Picture Arc/Journey: Seth’s collaboration adds a shocking dimension,
reshaping the narrative and exposing the Christopher project as a pawn in
a cosmic game. - Main Conflict:
A riveting battle for humanity’s fate unfolds as Ryan confronts the aliens
and Seth’s unexpected alliance. - Mystery/Open Loops:
The true purpose of the Christopher project, the cosmic game orchestrated
by the aliens, and Seth’s motivations. - Cliffhanger:
The intense showdown leaves Earth on the precipice of an unknown future,
with the series reaching a riveting and unpredictable conclusion.

4. Write a description of each season and give us the 5 seasons.
Season 1: Title: Missing in Inaction
A Navy Nurse, Leisa Hunter, angry at her government for refusing to rescue her father who was captured and killed by the Taliban, resigns her commission and enlists as a SpecOps corpsman so she can be ready to rescue the next one her government leaves behind.
Now attached to a Marine Raider unit, she must face that anger again when her brother is kidnapped, and the government does nothing. But she is ready now. She recruits a team of angry veterans, and without the knowledge of the Marines, launches a rescue effort only to find that not only was her brother was not captured by the enemy, but her father is still alive and working for an alien race who use humans as their weapons against the major threats facing their vacation home.
Now Leisa must juggle her Marine duties with her Rogue Warrior demands, facing death and court martial if she is caught. As her reputation grows, she becomes more known for her warrior skills than the healing skills she truly desires.
Season 2: Title: Old Guy’s to the Rescue
As Leisa and her Rogue Warriors try to find clues on where her brother may be, they are drawn into missions to rescue others in hazardous environments. The risk of exposure of the Warriors existence becomes present when they come to the aid of a Marine unit, surrounded by enemy forces, and Leisa reverts to her default medic training to save wounded Marines.
When word leaks of her involvement, an investigation is launched into what Leisa does in her free time and how she gets so much free time. The investigation is squelched when alien tech is presented to the Marines, and everything related to the investigation becomes classified by an unidentified, secret protector located within high levels of government.
The Rogue Warriors, with the aid of an alien craft, prevent a North Korean Special Operations Force from launching a drone with a nuclear warhead from within Mexico. The UAP’s use of a beamed weapon was captured on social media.
Season 3: Title: Aliens Good?
With praise for the success of the mission against NK going to the Marines instead of the Rogue Warriors, the Marines are given secret orders to assist the Rogue Warriors in their missions. With the chance to be reinstated as a Navy officer, Leisa chooses to stay enlisted and allow the Marines to front for them.
All is well except that their missions become more difficult as an unknown alien force has joined the battle of earth. Their goals are unknown. Even the aliens do not know who or what they are.
Season 4: Title: Alien v. Alien
Space battles are broadcast over social media, soon picked up by traditional media. But who is fighting who and which side is America behind. Alien landings occur around the globe and the Rogue Warriors serve as intelligence gathering assets to provide feedback to their alien allies.
When alien invaders occupy ICBM sites, the Rogue Warriors and Marines come to the rescue.
Season 5: Title: Eminent Invasion
When greater numbers of both friendly aliens and enemy aliens arrive in orbit and on planet, the militaries of the world coordinate the defense of the planet. All is well until Russia and China align with the enemy aliens.
When the allies determine to use nuclear weapons against the enemy forces within Russia and China, Leisa convinces the government to give her one chance to stop the enemy. With nuclear-tipped missiles, Leisa boards an alien craft to confront the lead enemy alien fleet. BWTV-AI Module 2, Lesson 3
Lenore Bechtel’s Five Seasons
What I learned from this assignment is that it’s impossible to put many details into one short paragraph describing a season. I also learned that what I thought was my concept for the series was actually the concept for only the first season. Therefore, I start this assignment with my new concept.
Concept = Hypnotist Joshua’s girl friday Lilly—ghostwriting his book about unusual clients—must protect his reputation for the sake of the book, keeping scandal writers from exposing his zany methods, going undercover with protesting activists, coping with ex-cons who know his illegal past which she didn’t know—all while dealing with her own regretful history.
Season 1: PREVENTING A SCANDAL
Lilly, a ghostwriter and girl friday to hypnotist Joshua, must prevent scandal reporter Quinten from discovering Joshua’s methods dealing with an invisible schizo, a fatty impersonator, and a past life regressor. If Quinten exposes what he learns, chances of a bestseller and national recognition will be ruined. Joshua hypnotizes him, but won’t say what he told him to write.
Season 2: DEFYING A MOBSTER
Quinten writes only good things about Joshua’s office, and a publisher wants Lilly’s book with 20,000 more words. A youth with the transplanted heart of a mobster whose cohart controls him needs Joshua’s help, plus a punk singer who thinks she’s being poisoned, and a psychic who helps police. Joshua gets the youth freed, and the psychic warns Lilly not to write his story.
Season 3: NIXING THE NAYSAYERS
The publisher won’t use Lilly’s mobster chapter, so she’ll write about the woman being haunted by a ghost and her time-traveling bother. Anti-hypnosis acitivists picket their Tulsa office, and Lilly goes undercover to expose their jealous leader—a competitve hypnotist.. Joshua is busy with Timothy wanting invisibility, Activists picket Joshua’s TV show, demanding its cancellation.
Season 4: EXPANDING THE FAN BASE
Publicity about the picketing results in Joshua’s TV show being aired in Oklahoma City, infuriating OC’s Dr. Mindbender, whom Edgar Carson ( Edgar Cayce reincarnated) has helped without creddit. His and Lilly’s scheme destroysvhis practice. A teen who thwarted a suicide pact becomes Lilly’s final chapter, but Carson predicts a bestseller won’t make Lilly happy.
Season 5: MANAGING NATIONAL FAME
With Joshua on a TV book tour, phone calls from around the country keep the office busy. From afar, Joshua hires a nightclub coat check girl to help on the phones, turning Lilly’s glee into gloom. She’s reconciled with her son and has decided to quit being everything to Joshua except girlfriend. She’s accept one of many ghostwriting offers and work from home. That is, until Joshua tells her he missed her and how he’s full of new stories for their next book.
Here are my original paragraphs for each season. I am keeping them to guide me as I write the pilot and future episodes.
Season 1: PREVENTING A SCANDAL
How can Lilly—Hypnotist Joshua’s girl Friday and ghostwriter—keep scandal reporter Quinten from discovering how Joshua helps Timothy, a schizophrenic who wants to be seen, a slim gal who fakes fatness to be near Joshua in a weight group, and a karmic-obsessed singer/drummer who harasses him for past life regressions? No doubt, Quinten’s expose will destroy Lilly’s chances of a bestseller and both their chances for the national recognition they covet. Quinten discovers all, but Joshua hypnotizes him at the season’s end, and he’s a deep hypnotic subject who will do what he’s told. What will Joshua tell him to write in his story?
Season 2: DEFYING A MOBSTER
Quinten followed Joshua’s suggestion and wrote only about the good he saw in his office—and more good happens: a publisher wants Lilly’s book, but needs 20,000 more pages. Can she possibly write about the mobster who needs Joshua to entice a treasure’s location from a youth who received his boss’s heart in a transplant? Or the punk singer who asks Joshua to sample her lunches every day because she thinks her mother is trying to poison her? Or the onslaught of hopeful clients and curious media who swarm the office when a psychic claims Joshua’s hypnosis is responsible for her skill at helping police solve crimes? At season’s end police free the youth, arrest the mobster kidnapper, and the psychic correctly reveals the treasure’s location, but warns Lilly about writing that story in her book.
Season 3: NIXING THE NAYSAYERS
Lilly writes about how the mobster tried to use Joshua, who outwitted him, but the publisher says he can’t use it. Maybe—if Joshua helps her—the woman who’s being haunted by a ghost will make a good story, along with her brother who needs Joshua’s guidance to understand why he constantly time travels. If only Lilly had time to devote to the book! A group of anti-hypnosis activist who believe hypnosis is a form of mind control have begun picketing, and Lilly must go undercover with the group to expose the activists’ leader—a psychiatrist envious of Dr. Dan who refers his hopeless cases to Joshua. Lilly’s on her own to keep the activists at bay because Joshua is too involved with Timothy, the schizo who he helped be visible who now has a dire need to be invisible again. The season ends with the activist group picketing the TV stations where Joshua’s weekly show is filmed, demanding that his show be cancelled.
Season 4: EXPANDING THE FAN BASE
Publicity about Joshua’s show being picketed makes it more popular than ever, and an Oklahoma City station also starts airing it, infuriating an OC psychologist/hypnotist, Dr. Mindbender. The two perform rival shows at the OC state fair, and Joshua steals many clients to his Tulsa office. One is Edgar Carson, a reincarnation of the famed psychic Edgar Cayce, who prescribed medical cures while in a self-induced trance. Dr. Mindbender uses Carson’s cures without giving him credit. Etta’s Five Seasons
What I learned from doing this assignment is…well, I was reluctant to let AI give me ideas. I first did my own version, and then I got AI’s version. And then my challenge is to figure out what I really want. AND I know that nothing about what AI comes up with is at all comedic. But not sure if my descriptions are either, although I see it that way. Here’s what I have:
Etta’s version:
SEASON ONE: AND WHY AM I HERE?
What happens when a sincere Quaker ends up on the corporate board of a fracking corporation?
Lydia’s been raised as a Quaker and has a commitment to taking care of the environment. In facts, she’s at a demonstration against fracking when the news comes—she’s inherited a major amount of shares in a fracking company from an uncle she hardly knew. Oh, and a seat on the corporate board. She’s totally out of place there, says little and is horrified when she learns of the inside working of the company. She’s ready to just back away from it all, when she gets a letter from her deceased uncle, encouraging her to bring her faith to the table. So she’ll stay on the board, and go to protests in disguise. And just as she starts to ask questions the board about the impact of fracking on their local communities, a video goes viral of her at a recent protest. The chairman of the board calls for security to have her removed, and as she is being escorted out of the company, fellow board member Martez grabs her hand and tries to pull her from the security guards. She’s got to stay!
SEASON TWO
TITLE: THEY ASKED ME TO
How can a Quaker woman bring her values to a corporation that seems totally opposed to what she is about?
Well she’s got a seat at the table. But not everyone at her Quaker meeting is happy with it. But she’s going to take advantage of it. Martez educates her about how to read corporate financials while her nephew Alonzo solves all her technology issues, and he sets up social media accounts for Lydia. She sure she’ll never need them. But when she gets the board okay to create a more eco-friendly corporate headquarters, she dives in, taking photos along the way. The Board and the senior officers of the company grudgingly accept the recycling and composting canisters that show up around the company, and eat on flatware made of potatoes. But when she has has the solar panels installed on the roof and posts those photos on Facebook—there’s a showdown when the CEO has them all taken down. She’s had it and complains a little on the Facebook group for her Quaker meeting and the next day, the local newspaper publishes and article about the disappearing solar panels, and she is told she endangers the net worth of the investors when she makes statements that are not run through the PR department of the company. She’s chastised. Silenced. And then a call comes. A producer from the Rachel Maddow show—will she come talk about being Quaker in a fracking company. What can she do?
SEASON THREE
TITLE
Is Lydia in over her head?
Suddenly, this woman who is used to a lot of silence and reflection, is getting requests for interviews. She’s getting attacked by the Chairman of the Board and the CEO of the company in the press. And then she’s noticing that money is disappearing from her accounts. Fortunately, Alonzo agrees to take care of that part of things, and Martez defends her in board meetings, and when she presents a plan to make this fracking company a totally green, renewable energy company in 15 years, she finds she’s getting a lot of attentions. From their members of Congress, senators, and she realizes the green energy PAC the corporation contributed to is anything but that. And the money is being used to fund private jet service to Senators and Congressmen to the luxurious mountain retreat of the Chairman of the board, when the board has a retreat there. And she joins Martez in wanting to remove the board president, and she is requested to testify in front of Congress on ways fossil fuel companies are trying to retro fit to renewal energy.
SEASON FOUR
TITLE IT’S YOU OR ME
Work or home—it’s no picnic. Lydia has to confront Alonzo and his mismanagement of her funds. Board meetings are no picnic, if they ever were, and it seems like it’s Lydia and Martez against the rest of them. The chairman presents evidence of Lydia’s mismanagement of funds (it’s all manufactured). Shareholders and the press are calling for her to be investigated. But she pulls ranks, orchestrates a vote against the Chairman of the Board, and wins his ouster. And an expose shows the chairman colluding with their Congressman to get special treatment and special allocations, in exchange for getting a DOJ investigation of Lydia. That falls through, and a Meet the Press interview gives her a chance to present her plan to create an earth friendly company and a transition plan for old fossil fuel companies to becoming eco-friendly company focusing on renewable energy. And just when she thinks things are settling down, she gets a call: the president Elect wants her on his transition team for phasing out fossil fuels.
SEASON FIVE
TITLE: BACK TO NORMAL?
Just when she thinks things are settling down, Lydia finally gets information on who her uncle really was. And this reveal comes at her Quaker meeting. She was adopted (she knew that) and he was her father (She didn’t know that). And even though she wants to step back from the company, Martez is mounting a campaign to be named CEO of the company and permanent Chairman of the Board. And suddenly there’s an attempt of a hostile takeover by a larger company. Thanks to Alonzo, who’s out of the money management business but seems to be excelling at hacking, she discovers an uncomfortable truth—the current VP is behind this offer and a whole campaign to discredit and silence her. And she ponders whether she should tell the president, but there seems no way of getting though to him. But a tour of one of their factories brings the two face to face, and he asks her questions—once that she must answer truthfully. But that’s that, she goes back to trying to revamp her company with Martez as the champion and voice of these changes. She prepares for a much lower profile and a quieter life, when she gets a call from the President. The VP is going to be resigning over corruption charges. Will Lydia take her spot?
