What I learned doing this assignment – 2 things – 1) Process – I am getting a feel from using new prompts to the AI for ways of interrogating a story and 2) Content – The relationship map is something of which I had a glimmer, but now know that it triggers new thinking in my head.

Conflict: because of the ruse, she lies / mother cannot help as she doesn’t have the clue of what’s going on.

History: her parents’ love and friendship set a criteria for her own mariage.

Subtext: difficulty to keep the secret

Relationship arc: from lying to revealing the truth.

DAPHNE with ANTONY

Surface: brother with father’s power

Common ground: family and social constraints and reputation

Conflict: His disapproval for Simon courting his sister

History: frustration: she knows he knows Simon’s secret and doesn’t want to tell her

Relationship arc: from love for her big brother to feeling disrespected by him.

What I learned during this assignment is that I need more diverse relationships between my characters to make my show interesting. The relationships I had before were too conventional.
