Jeff Bassetti, BURNING GALILEO, Concept, and Character Structure!
My vision is to be open to learn what I don’t know and craft a fantastic pitch and ultimate screenplay that gets read requests.
What I learned, and am still learning, is that I need to keep to the steps and resist the anxiousness to jump right to the end and get writing. In the short few lessons, I am seeing the time saving from writing a first draft that is ultimately flawed, leading to a page one rewrite because of the pursuit of perfection.
Title: Burning Galileo
Genre: Science Fiction, Action, Thriller
Character Protagonist versus Antagonist.
High Concept: “What if the man tasked with deorbiting the ISS brought his family—only to uncover a nuclear plot to crash it into Washington, D.C.?”
Major Story Hook: “With the ISS locked on a collision course with D.C., one man must fight to override the system, defeat the saboteurs—and rescue his family adrift in space.”
