The class is wonderful. It actually is a great class to take before the 30 Day Scriptwriting class and Subtext class too. The course basically facilitates mapping out your story...(Story Mapping) and adding layers and depth in ways a newby like myself would not think to do. I wound up with a 26 page map to success!

I was nervous about a 30-day course, but it's brilliantly broken down into manageable components with enough variety in the delivery of content to appeal to all types of learners. I love the final assignment where it's all put together. I have worked out many more details of the screenplay than I first realised and would recommend the course to others.

I haven't written a screenplay before. I found the lessons to be a very practical walkthrough of abstracting the stories, and of planning your own. I need more time, but I will get back to it. It was nice to get started.

This is a very worthwhile class to take. Learning how to build meaning at several levels of storytelling has made it possible for me to revise my existing scripts and incorporate the meaning that was missing until I learned these techniques. I highly recommend this class if you're unsure how to get deeply profound meaning into your scripts.

I took this class to help understand how to write transformational journies for my characters. Not only did it give me those skills, but it also offers true insight into how to tell relatable stories with true power. It has changed the way I write and think about writing…for the better!

The movie examples and Hal's analyses were spot on. The layering process for creating transformational characters was the most helpful for me, as I've struggled with this forever. I think I've got it down now. Yay! I have a couple of screenplays I intend to rewrite using this process to make them more profound. Thank you!
