    JP Serra’s Intrigue Patterns

What I learned in this assignment is that to create maximum intrigue, you need to find the perfect balance between the things you say, and the things you leave out.

The technique I used is intense language in Lionel’s description when I mention “deepest fear” and “as everything he values is destroyed”

    Lionel

Lionel, a master builder in defensive architecture, has long been the unsung guardian of the Greenwood Clan. He never dared setting foot outside his beloved village. Why would he put himself at risk, venturing into the unknown, when he can surround himself with strong walls and admire his beautiful buildings? Yet, his lifestyle clashes with the dreams of his 12-year-old son, who aspires to be an adventurous warrior.

His discovery of a dark elixir, used in secret to create powerful and uncontrollable creatures, presents Lionel with a heart-wrenching dilemma: Will Lionel confront his deepest fear and step outside of his sanctuary, or will he watch from the sidelines as everything he values is destroyed?

    BWTV-AI MODULE 2 – LESSON 8: WRITING WITH INTRIGUE!

    Moses Quainoo

“What I learned doing this assignment is…?”

    ASSIGNMENT:

Using Intrigue Patterns, describe some aspect of your story or Characters.

    SKYY LAR TV Show Concept:

A feral pigeon injured by human negligence, collaborates with a compassionate girl, in London to ignite a worldwide bird rebellion against environmental destruction, focusing on the Beauty Industry’s influence.

    A. Establish something shocking and point to the terrible things it could mean.

All the pigeon wanted was to peck for food at Dalston Market, in London…but it ensnared in synthetic waste. But the price of human negligence led to its injury- a severed leg.

    B. Strong statement; question about something underhanded beneath the surface.

The pigeon was injured and caused by human negligence. Rumors surrounded that the pigeon collaborated with a compassionate girl to spark a worldwide bird rebellion. But it wasn’t against environmental destruction and didn’t focus on the Beauty Industry.

    C. Questions that point to Hidden agenda, Hidden Identity, conspiracy, etc.

Injured by human negligence, a feral pigeon sparks a worldwide bird rebellion. How does a bird with one leg, the other in prosthetics suddenly collaborate with a young girl against environmental destruction? And why are they focused on the Beauty Industry?

    D. Character 1 is convinced/worried/wondering that Character 2 has done _____________.

A young girl was compassionate about the injured pigeon. No one seemed to care. Even the people who saw it strung.

    E. But maybe it is all wrong.

The feral pigeon sparked a worldwide rebellion. But something seemed to be wrong! It was a bird, not human, and it had one leg, the other in prosthetics yet a compassionate girl collaborated with the pigeon.

    F. A Pattern that Leads to Future Consequences

More birds joined the coalition the pigeon formed. It is making alliances as skeptics also changed their minds. The pigeon even got the young girl to collaborate with the human world. But how did the injury happen?

    G. If he does ________________, that means ___Intrigue_____.

Just because the feral pigeon sparked a worldwide rebellion against environmental destruction doesn’t mean it should focus on the Beauty Industry and take over the world.

    H. State the mystery.

How does a feral pigeon with injury caused by human negligence suddenly spark a bird rebellion? And who are they against?

    I. Should be/could be _______, but it is even worse.

It should be a Bird success story that a pigeon injured by human negligence should ignite a bird rebellion against environmental destruction, but the pigeon’s path to the revolt is focused on the Beauty industry.

    J. Intense language.

A feral pigeon injured by human negligence collaborates with a compassionate young girl to spark a worldwide rebellion. But what is it against? And who is it focused on?

    1. Pull out your TV Pitch Bible. Read through it and find ONE line you would like to be more intriguing.

SKYY LAR TV Show TV Pitch Bible:

In a complex world, RAPHAEL AYISA must balance loyalty to its avian brethren and human allies in the rebellion.

    More intriguing…

    A. Establish something shocking and point to the terrible things it could mean.

All RAPHAEL AYISA wanted was to balance its loyalty to its avian brethren and human allies in the rebellion world but the price of duality led to internal struggles in the complex world.

    B. Strong statement; question about something underhanded beneath the surface.

All RAPHAEL wanted to balance its loyalty to its avian brethren and human allies in the rebellion world. Rumors surrounding it point to duality. But it wasn’t its avian brethren and human allies and the Beauty Industry.

    C. Questions that point to hidden agendas, hidden identity, conspiracy, etc.

    D. Character 1 is convinced/worried/wondering that Character 2 has done _____________.

    E. But maybe it is all wrong.

    F. A Pattern that Leads to Future Consequences

    G. If he does ________________, that means ___Intrigue_____.

    H. State the mystery.

    I. Should be/could be _______, but it is even worse.

    J. Intense language.

    2. Rethink that line using ALL of these patterns, as I did above:

    A. Establish something shocking and point to the terrible things it could mean.

    B. Strong statement; question about something underhanded beneath the surface.

    C. Question that points to hidden agendas, hidden identity, conspiracy, etc..

    D. Character 1 is convinced/worried/wondering that Character 2 has done _____________.

    E. But maybe it is all wrong.

    F. A Pattern that Leads to Future Consequences

    G. If he does ________________, that means ___Intrigue_____.

    H. State the mystery.

    I. Should be/could be _______, but it is even worse.

    J. Intense language.

    INTRIGUING PATTERNS

An unlikely pigeon with a prosthetic left leg is on a mission to lead a global bird revolt against environmental destruction caused by the Beauty Industry.

    A. Establish something shocking and point to the terrible things it could mean.

SKYY LAR, a pigeon with a prosthetic left leg is on a mission to lead a global bird revolt. But EMMA is convinced it is against environmental destruction caused by the Beauty Industry.

    B. Strong statement; question about something underhanded beneath the surface.

As SKYY LAR talks dribs and drabs against environmental destruction caused by the Beauty Industry leaks. Should we view this as evidence that it is psychologically ready on a mission to lead a global bird revolt?

    C. Questions that point to Hidden Agenda, Hidden Identity, Conspiracy, etc.

Is SKYY LAR a rebel leader? How reliable is EMMA?

    D. Character 1 is convinced/worried/wondering that Character 2 has done _____________.

But EMMA is convinced that SKYY LAR was turned by the prosthetic left leg.

    E. But maybe it is all wrong.

EMMA is convinced of the proposition that SKYY LAR will lead a rebellion. The evidence flies in the face of her utter conviction that he is not guilty. Is it all in her mind? Does this mean she is all wrong? Not

    F. A Pattern that Leads to Future Consequences

What begins as an unlikely pigeon with a prosthetic left leg on a mission transforms into a movement against environmental destruction caused by the Beauty Industry, only to lead a global bird revolt.

    G. If he does ________________, that means ___Intrigue_____.

But if an unlikely pigeon with a prosthetic left leg is on a mission against environmental destruction caused by the Beauty Industry, that means the pigeon will lead a global bird revolt.

    H. State the Mystery.

We know an unlikely pigeon with a prosthetic left leg is on a mission to lead a global bird revolt against environmental destruction caused by the Beauty Industry. And he isn’t lying about it. What happened to SKYY LAR?

    I. Should be/could be _______, but it is even worse.

And though SKYY LAR is devastated that he has a prosthetic left leg, a smile tugs at the corner of his mouth. This is now his plan. A mission to lead a global bird revolt against environmental destruction caused by the Beauty Industry.

    J. Intense language.

    3. If you discover a more intriguing version of the line, replace the old one in the TV Pitch Bible.

    Marie’s intrigue Patterns.

What I learned doing this assignment was to change the angle I looked at my story and change it using the pattern suggested. it was an eye-opener. it gave me a new way to approach my story too. Another breakthrough!!! Thank you so much! I can’t believe how much I elevated my story in the last three days!!!

    Here is my new concept:

In 1818, an unreliable extravagant music teacher, Charles, becomes convinced that her pupil, the daughter of an archdeacon, Emily, has taken part to a daring unsolved bank robbery in London but who would believe him?

Here is my new show summary:

Emily, the daughter of an archideacon is courted by a marine officer, Robert, right after a visit to London to her aunt where she had been unwittingly entangled in a bank robbery.

But her music teacher, Charles is watching her, and noticed she is hiding something, always writing secretly and he is convinced she is one of the robbers who robbed the bank.

He knows that Robert is a police informant. Why did he suddenly disappear?

But how reliable is Charles? He is riddled with debts, extravagant, unrealistic. His unreliability casts doubts on the proposition that Emily is one of the robbers. Did he not pick up that she is secretly writing for a lady’s magazine? Is it all in his mind? Does it mean he is all wrong? Not neccessarily.

What begins then in the music room turns into a sexual obsession, only to end in the worst kind of betrayal.

If she plays the gentle daughter, it doesn’t mean she is, and she has found out about his race to find money to pay his debts and his intention to report her to the police.

If he thinks she had been a helper in the robbery, it’s even worse. She had been the mastermind of an operation destined to finance the reformers movement and prepare the big demonstration at St Peter to claim universal vote for all men and as Charles is about to walk to the police, she is now orchestrating a set up to save her skin and the skin of all her accomplices even if it involves his arrestation.

sounds like you’re exploring a fascinating discussion in your theology class in New York City. Let’s break down each point and consider how it might provoke curiosity and engagement among your audience:

    1. Gods are many: This statement introduces the concept of multiple deities worshipped by different religious traditions, such as Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Jainism, and Buddhism. This could spark curiosity about the diversity of religious beliefs and practices around the world, leading to questions about how these various gods are perceived and worshipped by different cultures.

    2. Beneath the surface there is only one God: Here, you’re delving into the idea of monotheism, the belief in one supreme deity underlying all religious traditions. This notion challenges students to consider whether different religions are fundamentally worshipping the same divine being in different ways. This could lead to discussions about the nature of divinity, the concept of a universal truth, and the interconnectedness of religious faiths.

    3. Is all god say the same or different things: This question invites students to explore the similarities and differences in the teachings and messages of various religious figures and scriptures. It encourages critical thinking about the core principles and values upheld by different faith traditions, as well as the potential for common threads of wisdom and moral guidance across religious boundaries.

Overall, by presenting these thought-provoking questions and perspectives, you’re likely to stimulate lively debate and encourage your audience to delve deeper into their own beliefs and understanding of theology. Keep fostering an atmosphere of open-minded inquiry and respectful dialogue to ensure everyone’s voices are heard and valued in the discussion.
