What I learned doing this assignment is that if we follow the rules of high speed writing it’s much easier to stay “in the zone” and it’s very encouraging to see how many pages we can write in only a couple of hours.

I wrote my 5-page teaser and I had many breakthroughs by disciplining myself to stay in “creative mode”.

I have been working on my Outline with Intrigue day and night since my last assignment. Now I know and understand better how the story flows in the Pilot. I have the Final Draft and Movie Magic softwares for over 2 decades. I followed the High-Speed Writing Rules model as I wrote my First draft.
My Teaser is taken from ACT 4 of the Pilot.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Use the High-Speed Writing Rules model as you write the first draft.
2. Write your TEASER. Do the first draft of it as fast as possible, focusing on the High-Speed Writing Rules.
3. Tell us your experience of using the High-Speed Writing Rules as you wrote your Teaser.
4. Post your assignment in the forums.

SEASON 1 EPISODE 1: FEATHERS against STONE
TEASER
EXT. SKY ABOVE RIVER THAMES – SUNRISE. MAIN INTRIGUE – IMMINENT THREAT.

SKYY LAR glides across the River Thames. Wings spread wide, basking in the golden glow of the sunrise. It feels the warmth on its feathers. The iconic London Eye stands in the background, illuminated by the morning light.

SKYY LAR
(thinking)
Nothing like the morning sun… pure, free, endless. The city is so grand yet so fragile. With every beat of my wings, I feel its heartbeat.

A two-year-old feral pigeon. Orange eyes. Purple blue with shiny green neck.

SKYY LAR’s unique Prosthetic leg glints in the morning light, a symbol of injury and resilience.

Suddenly, a sharp silhouette slices through the air above.

SKYY LAR
(thinking)
What’s that?

A PEREGRINE FALCON, sleek and menacing, equipped with a barely visible technological device, dives towards SKYY LAR.

SKYY LAR
Cause trouble, from a natural predator, no doubt.

The device glints under the early morning sun.

SKYY LAR
But that device…

The FALCON, a precision-engineered assassin sent by the BEAUTY INDUSTRY, locks its sights on SKYY LAR. Its mission: to eliminate the rebellious leader threatening their operations. SKYY LAR senses the impending danger and braces for a confrontation.

SKYY LAR
Thought we were allied, fighting on the same side? No! You? An Assassin? Sent by the very Industry we fight against… they fear us. They fear change. Well, they will get a fight.

A breathtaking chase unfolds. SKYY LAR dodges and weaves through the complex cityscape, the Falcon in relentless pursuit. Their shadows dart over the glistening waters of the Thames. Westminster Bridge underpass. Reverse. Brushing past the spinning London Eye, weaves through the narrow alleys, avoiding people, obstacles, and towering skyscrapers of the city.

SKYY LAR
(thinking. mid-chase.)
Faster…gotta outsmart you. Down on The Thames. The Westminster Bridge underpass. Circle the riverboats. Fast. The London Eye… stay sharp… focused, stay alive.
Dodges through narrow passages. Feeling the wind rush past. Hears the prosthetic screech across a glass building surface during evasive technique.

SKYY LAR
EMMA, wherever you are… stay safe. This ends now.

In a desperate bid for survival, SKYY LAR performs a daring maneuver. With precise timing, SKYY LAR swings its body, striking the FALCON's eye with the robust prosthetic leg.

SKYY LAR
Gotcha. A little taste of resilience.

Temporarily blinded and disoriented, the FALCON screeches in pain and confusion, blindly pursuing SKYY LAR across the busy streets. EMMA, witnessing the aerial battle from the ground, gasps as the FALCON, unable to see the oncoming car, collides with it. The FALCON crumples on the street, dazed but alive. SKYY LAR watches from above.

SKYY LAR escapes into the safety of London’s skyline. Determined. Unyielding.
