Hi,
my name is Julian!
I have written 7 full feature scripts, 3 shorts that I shot and a documentary that in total got me many IMDB awards.
I want to be able to go back at the scripts I have written and get them better before putting them out to producers and directors.
I got into this “story telling” thing because of telling my stories (I used to be a child soldier in a communist country, a bodyguard of the mostly targeted and later killed politician; illegal emigrant, imprisoned, tortured and survived missions where I was sent to die) to people who encouraged me to write them. It was ScreenwritingU who put me on the map as a screenwriter. So, this is my solution to writing even in genres out of my comfort zone, like … comedy 😉 -

B. Title: WHISPERS OF THE PAST
C. High Concept:
A Jewish man flees the Nazis with his infant son, believing his wife perished in the chaos. Fifty years later, his granddaughter uncovers a shocking truth: her grandmother is still alive, making possible to reunite a family torn apart by war.
D. Main Conflict:
Daniel escapes the Nazis in Greece and goes into hiding in Albania, but that country gets occupied by the Nazis as well. So he has to leave again with his newborn son, but he has to leave behind his beloved wife, hoping they will reunite again after the war.
E. Transformational Journey:
From a doubtful person Daniel turns into a believer of the goodness of the people’s heart, although the people who helped him don’t make it and he loses his wife in the process, remaining alone to raise his newborn son. Fifty years later, by chance (or will of God) his granddaughter finds his long lost wife and her grandmother.
F. Opposition:
The Nazis follow Daniel from Greece into Albania and want to capture him but a good man who gave him safe heaven makes sure that he escapes. The new regime in Albania tells him that the family who helped him and his wife were killed by the Nazis, although that was done by the new communist regime.
