    Hi Cheryl,

I opened up a support ticket but I haven’t heard back from anyone. I don’t see anything listed for the first day assignments. Can you help me with that?

    Thank you!

    A. Contained Story

Everything happens in one location; five actors and two extras will make this more manageable.

No Stunts or explosions are required.

No need for an extraordinary wardrobe or outfits. Everything is casual.

The requirement for Hair & Make-Up is negligible. Each actor will bring her make-up bag. The actors can wear their clothes, wigs to add some colour to their character.

The cast and crew are all vaccinated. All Quarantine guidelines will be followed.

    B. Five older adults (Mums) secretly meet by the beach each day to have some exercise, but all they do is bicker and lie to each other. Through their mysterious journey during the pandemic, they discover the sustaining power of friendship. How friendship gives strength, support each other, help to stay happy and healthy. A story about five friends who like to enjoy their twilight years.

Denise Bryant, Lesson 1. Guidelines for “Going in Style”

What I learned doing this assignment is that a lot of cast members and locations can be expensive by requiring many staff, permits, pay, and lack of social distancing.

People – Three main characters and several supporting characters. Lots of locations

Stunts – Walking along the teller’s stations.

    Extras – Lots and lots.

Wardrobe – Too many changes to count

Hair and Make up – Few changes

Kids and Animals – Lots of children, one puppy

    Quarantine – no

    COVID GUIDELINE VERSION

People – Three main characters. Two locations made to seem like three

    Stunts – few

Extras – Can eliminate except for a few.

    Wardrobe – Two changes

Hair and Make up – One change

    Kids and Animals – Eliminate

    Quarntine – Not sure

    Rolando’s Assignment 1

What I learned doing this assignment, and as a Covid Compliance Officer for productions, the smaller the cast and crew, the quicker things move. The quicker things move, the more money you save. In addition, one thing not mentioned in the list is the amount of cost that Covid protocols is hitting productions budgets. Supplies, testing, Covid Officers. These are all additional costs that force a producer to them find savings elsewhere.

    AS THEY DID IT:

    B. Stunts: Kill scenes in houses.

    C. Extras: A lot of extras during hospital/mob scene and at bar.

    E. Hair and Make Up: Lots of hair and makeup due to cast and Halloween

    F. Kids and Animals: Yes. A couple, but in short scenes.

    G. Quarantine: Yes. Large cast and crew.

    COVID GUIDELINE VERSION:

    Assignment 1 N. Lucas

What I learned in this assignment was to look at the ‘big picture’ of production costs/needs and how they can be modified.

The movie I chose was Casablanca

    As they did it:

    A. People: Medium-Large size case

    B. Stunts: very few—some shootings

    C. Extras: LOTS of extras

    D. Wardrobe: complex with several different Uniforms. Specific countries clothing; additionally ‘dress attire’ as well as simple clothing for those ‘waiting to get out’

    E. Hair and Makeup: seems to be kept relatively simple

    F. Kids and Animals: None

    G. Quarantine: Yes, large cast and crew & several locations

    COVID GUIDELINE VERSION

A: People: Stick to main cast, keep extras to a minimum. Will need to cut some extraneous (‘explaining’) scenes and tell more of the story in dialogue.

    B. Stunts: can be kept the same

    C. Extras: keep to a minimum by cutting scenes

    D. Wardrobe: needs to be kept the same, but when you cut people, you can cut some wardrobe.

    E. Hair and Makeup: Can be kept the same

    F. Kids and Animals: None

    G. Quarantine: Yes, but can be kept to 2 locations, Ricks and the airport, and less people subject to quarantine
