    Tim Barley’s Visually Appealing Bible

What I learned from doing this lesson is that I have found an amazing AI art creator to help create my images. It’s on Discord.com (I didn’t know what that was, but some of my friends use it for networking and event communication). It’s called Midjourney and it’s an AI bot that is open to all (free at first, but small charger after TBD).

I have created SOME images and am working concurrently with assignment #11 at the same time to create an amazing pitch bible, while also backtracking to assignment #9/#10 just a bit to reimagine some of the episodes that will heighten the tension, mystery and open loops a bit.

I have images available if others would like to see what I was able to create with first passes.

(LAST NOTE: I have been inspired by you all and have loved what I am seeing from others. I feel like a JV player sometimes and indecisive at others when I finish a lesson and get ready to post… 😀 )

    (Laurie Brown’s) Visually Appealing Bible

What I learned from this assignment is another way to make my pitch bible better. I loved the example, but am going to pass on pictures at this time because it’s not in my wheelhouse. I’ll seek someone to help me make it more visually appealing with pics once I feel complete with the pitch bible and the course work. Onward to Module 3.

    Elizabeth Dickinson’s Visually Appealing Bible

What I learned doing this assignment is that I have photos for everything I need, but that they don’t all hang together in a cohesive style like “Rock Dad”. I had to put together a powerpoint pitch for the Catalyst Story conference a month ago, but ended up pitching a different project at the conference, but the basic photos are there.

Some of the character photos are drawings, some are photos, and some are Roman statues. It just doesn’t set a consistent tone.

My favorite photo (that I actually bought) is of a burning triskele (3 Celtic spirals symbolizing creation/protection/destruction) from a triathlon that’s set in Scotland! My main character ‘sees’ a spinning triskele just before he has a psychic experience, and depending on where the triskele points, it says something about what he’s about to experience. But I realized that in this pitch bible, NOWHERE do I mention the triskele (another d’oh moment)…Like Laurie, visuals are not my strongest suit, so I’m going to let them go for now.

What I learned doing this assignment is

I have decided to leave my TV Pitch Bible without pictures. This is because I can’t find pictures that match the vision of my story.

What I learned was that midjourney and other tools can create captivating images, but they still require modifications, especially with text. For now, I’ll use a promo picture related to the first book the series is based on. Good enough for a first take and this assignment. It really livens up the document a lot. It’s surprising how much difference one picture can make.

In a few months, the technology will improve and the AI will be able to handle adding text manipulation too in some later version. So, this is something that will be a source of further improvements down the line.
