Dale’s First Three Decisions:
What I learned doing this assignment is the character arc is separate from the audience change, although it is the process the character goes through that helps to create that audience change.
1. What is your profound truth? Sticking to your guns eventually pays off.
2. What is the change your movie will cause with an audience? Women have as much ability to pursue science and make key scientific discoveries as men do.
3. What is your Entertainment Vehicle that you will tell this story through? Embellished true story.

Lauren’s First Three Decisions
What I learned doing this assignment:
The difference between the profound truth and the change the story will cause with the audience. These seemed very similar at first. Now I realize even though there are elements which are the same, they are two very distinct aspects of the story.
1. What is your profound truth?
Every human being has divine value and a purpose only they can fulfill.
2. What is the change your movie will cause with an audience?
No matter how awful someone’s beginnings are, people have the ability to transform into their best selves.
3. What is your Entertainment Vehicle that you will tell this story through?
The Cause is the Background.

What I Learned Doing this Assignment is
I am beginning to understand that I need more than the words of my story -I have to learn how to create character layers, intrigue, and momentum, to make it captivating and memorable.
What is Your Profound Truth?
The separation of parents and children through death, divorce, adoption, abandonment or catastrophic national events causes grief and pain. My story deals with the impact of adoption on the three sides of one adoption triad.
What is the change your movie will cause with an audience?
That devastating life long grief can be changed with changed human outlooks, and altered social mores and laws. Some of the audience will identify and understand and may be comforted that they are not alone. Those never touched by any such event and thus have never lived the consequences, will reflect on their advantage in not being impacted.
What is your entertainment vehicle that you will tell your story through?
Historical embellishment of a (non personal) situation.

Amanda’s First Three Decisions
What I learned doing this assignment is I need to think about the audience change also. It’s not just about the hero’s journey.

Unexpected things happen to even the best of us.
3. What is your Entertainment Vehicle that you will tell this story through?

Veialu’s First Three Decisions
What I learned doing this assignment is to think about the audience change plus these questions helped me to get clarity around why I’d like to write this story.
1. What is your profound truth?
It’s never too late to forgive yourself.
2. What is the change your movie will cause with an audience?
It will empower us to believe that we can face our fears and still find freedom from our darkest moments no matter how many years have passed.
3. What is your Entertainment Vehicle that you will tell this story through?
Embellished true story.

Karen Tolliver: First Three Decisions
What I learned doing this assignment is how to structure my profound cause and place it inside my film. I never knew there was a structure to a profound movie, I thought the writer was a really good writer and to some point they are, but there is a definite way of doing it. Thanks ScreenwritingU.
1. What is your Profound Truth?
Live life for yourself, not for the pleasing of others.
2. What is the change your movie will cause with an audience?
To look inside yourself, find your inner-being and allow It to guide you through all things.
3. What is your entertainment vehicle that you will tell this story through?
Through the world of a Road Trip.

What I learned from doing this assignment is how valuable it is to understand the process of screenplay writing to create a better screenplay.
Profound Truth:
In life things aren’t always how they appear. Those who love you can go to extreme means to protect you from a horrible truth. Loss of someone close feels unbearable.
Audience Change:
To think about their own lives and explore any possible family secrets. To consider working through wrongs in peaceful ways.
Entertainment Value:
A world filled with mystery and hidden dark family secrets.
