What did I learn during this assignment? That the more attention you give to the project. The more you let it consume your day and thoughts. The deeper down the rabbit hole your story can go. I have 4 main characters and have completed 2 Character Descriptions. I am in the process of creating the irony between the 2 main investigators.
Pushing back the thoughts. It has all been done before. My idea is … (Fill in blank) so it is not worth the time…
Character and Role in the Show – Jakob – An ex-police officer that had a UFO encounter while on duty now investigates paranormal activities to exonerate his record and prove himself right.
Noteworthy Traits – Existential thinker, factitious, speaks his mind, skeptical of people.
Intriguing history – How much his life and behavior have changed since becoming obsessed with investigating the supernatural.
How do they support or drive the conflict with other characters – Judgemental of people, thinks he has it all figured out, and will tell people his alternate belief systems.
Intriguing relationships with other characters – Rebecca, Julianne
The sequence of the character in the Pilot:
Start – A divorced Father is reflecting on how far away the UFO research has taken him from normal life. Is waiting to obtain documents that prove aliens exist on the planet
Middle – Meets Rebecca at Julianne’s office on campus and gets involved with her investigation while asking for information from her Government connections.
End – Finds out from Rebecca that the documents were a disinformation setup. Introduces her to Julianne, an old friend in the UFO research community.

Beating republicans in congressional seats is his goal but his second family demands more of his time, which derails his ambitious moves and may destroy his family, along with his political life.

Daniel Melin’s Character Descriptions
What I learned doing this assignment is the value of grinding it out, even when it feels like you’re just producing garbage. I felt like I was only producing laughably bad character elements, but when I stuck with it, I found that I had a much hookier and interesting series of character descriptions at the end of the process. I know it will only continue to improve from here.
Who is the character? Role in
the show? Levi: Aspiring Magician. <div>Noteworthy traits: Purposeless,
cowardly, but compassionate.Intriguing history: His
timidity caused his sister to fall victim to one of his friends who
date-raped her. Lizzie, the ruler of Everlasting Summer, claims that Levi
has been coming to Everlasting Summer for a long time, but Levi has no
memory of it.Intrigue? Will Levi manage to
break the curse he is under? Will he and Mark reach common ground on how
to use magic, or will they break apart?Mystery? Why does Lizzie think
that Levi has been to Everlasting Summer before? How do they support or drive
the conflict with others? Levi’s attempts to learn magic wreak havoc in
his daily life. His attempts to pry into the mysteries of Everlasting
Summer place him in increasing jeopardy with Lizzie.Irony — Opposites or paradoxes
that exist with the character. He has always played it safe, but craves
adventure and danger.Opposing agendas/etc. that
naturally causes conflict with other characters: Levi wants to stop Lizzie
from continuing to use her young captives to hunt down Louis.Unpredictable? Levi grows
increasingly risk-prone as he learns more about magicIntriguing relationship with
one or more characters: Pretending to be a loyal acolyte of Lizzie,

Middle: When a werewolf is discovered in his hometown, he begins to delve deeper into the world of magic, which leads him deeper into his own past, and his family’s past.
Ending: He gets in way over his head, and finds that he has made things worse rather than better by meddling in forces he doesn’t fully comprehend yet.
Edited Version:
Levi is adrift in his life, aimlessly wandering from job to job, hoping to find some deeper meaning to his life. When a werewolf attacks someone in his hometown, he starts learning about magic, and thinks that he has found the purpose he has lacked in his life.
Unfortunately, Levi’s forays into the world of magic drag up old family ghosts, strain his relationship with his boss, who is also a personal friend, and pit him against the mentor in magic he has found. Most dangerous of all, Levi finds himself under the curse of a powerful witch named Lizzie, who is turning young boys into werewolves in her vendetta against her unfaithful husband, whom she has transformed into a deer.
As Levi’s efforts to master magic grow more drastic, he has to find a way to lift the curse that has been placed on him while still preserving his relationships with his friends and family.
<div>
</div>Who is the character? Role in
the show? Mark, experienced magician.Noteworthy traits Cynical,
clever, driven.Intriguing history: He has been

did his wife divorce him? Did his wife divorce him because he became
obsessed with magic, or was it the other way around? How do they support or drive
the conflict with others? Mark can be very egotistical, and this causes
conflict in his relationship with Levi. He outright doesn’t like Miguel,
and takes every opportunity he can to insult him.Irony — Opposites or paradoxes
that exist with the character: drawn to the romanticism of magic, but in
many other respects is a very rational person.Opposing agendas/etc. that
naturally causes conflict with other characters: Wants Levi’s help, but
wants to keep his library of magical books a secret only for himself.Unpredictable? His ambitions
cause more and more problems with those around him, and there’s no telling
what he’ll do.Intriguing relationship with
one or more characters: Tense mentor/mentee relationship with Levi.</div><div>
Start: Mark is a widely read and accomplished magician who is hunting for powerful magical artifacts.

He soon finds out that a friend of his, Levi, may have stumbled by accident on Oberon and Titania’s fairy court, which has been taken over by a witch named Lizzie. Mark convinces Levi to learn all he can about Lizzie’s fairy court, which she has renamed Everlasting Summer, and see if he can learn anything about where Oberon’s staff might be.
As Mark and Levi learn more, their approaches to magic begin to split, and Mark soon breaks with his friend and pupil, finding himself soon having to rethink everything he thought he knew about magic in the process.

his life? Will his temper continue to get the better of him, or will he
overcome his demons? How do they support or drive
the conflict with others? Miguel constantly demands better performance
from Levi at work, which calls him to be focused on the task at hand, but
his imagination constantly drifts to what he’s been studying.Irony — Opposites or paradoxes
that exist with the character Has a soft tender side, but this is often
concealed by his ego and his short temper.Opposing agendas/etc. that
naturally causes conflict with other characters: He wants to make a lot of
money and retire early, and he wants everyone around him to work as hard
as he does.Unpredictable? His temper rears
its head at inopportune times, and he often self-sabotages by making
reckless decisions.Intriguing relationship with
one or more characters: He has a lot of history with his fiancé, Milly,

Joe’s Character Descriptions
What I learned doing this assignment is by writing character descriptions, events, history and plot begin to take shape. A magical process!
START: Present the character as someone we can relate to. Ruby Kane, Lead Detective in a small-town police department; is beset with a cheating husband, haunted in flashback by her dead father’s constant ruminations about the dark history of the town; has a bipolar daughter, an eccentric mother, and a colorful team at work.
MIDDLE: Conflict, intrigue, and issues. She has an unknown rapist preying on older women in the town; when she researches past offenses, she finds out there were nine other older women raped in the town, all of it hushed up. When through good detective work, she and her partner, Curtis, find the suspect they think is guilty, she is told by her husband and a cadre of important figures in the town that the suspect cannot be arrested but detained at home; she arrests him anyway, and with a team of lawyers, he gets off, and is relocated to a nearby town.
ENDING: A final punchline that hooks us and sends us into the future of the story. Ruby follows him and realizes he’s still offending; she stops a rape, and assures the victim that she’s taking him into custody, but takes him to the mountains, injects him with insect venom, sprays him with lemon pledge, and leaves him to die. When she finds out the history of the town as a hunting ground, she decides to deliver her own vigilante justice.
START: Present the character as someone we can relate to. Brian ‘Thor’ Vinter, Police Chief in a small-town police department; handsome, he cheats on his wife, has sponsored a pool to see who can seduce the most hot girls working in the department; appears to take orders from the elders of the town.
MIDDLE: Conflict, intrigue, and issues. When his wife catches who appears to be the prime suspect in a rape of an older woman, he’s infuriating when he directs her to follow orders and put him on house arrest, but Ruby charges him anyway. Later when he’s killed, and more rapists are killed, his department comes under pressure to find the vigilante killer of the rapists.
ENDING: A final punchline that hooks us and sends us into the future of the story. Becomes the poster boy for incompetence when he can’t find the killer of the rapists; the elders of the town are pressuring him to stop the killings. Is having sexual confusion.
START: Present the character as someone we can relate to. Rodion Kane (Komarov); Deceased father of Ruby, haunting presence, always hunting rain beetles, something happened with his daughter, is trying to make amends, coach her.
MIDDLE: Conflict, intrigue, and issues. He’s a seemingly paranoid purveyor of the dark history of the town, constantly teaching Ruby spy tradecraft while they’re hunting rain beetles; he’s in conflict with Lula, his wife; knows the history of the town.
ENDING: A final punchline that hooks us and sends us into the future of the story. In flashback, tries to convince Ruby that there’s a ghost work underlying the warped history of the town as a hunting ground that stemmed from a “Donner Party” like tragedy that befell the founders of the town.

Donna Stockwell’s Character Descriptions
What I learned doing this assignment is how focussed and specific the journey of the characters becomes.
BEN is a security salesman, working long hours starts to become frustrated with wife who shows she is not happy in his traditional marriage, tries to show encouragement of wife’s business by also selling/giving cosmetics to wives of clients. Increasing frustration with wife’s unhappiness, turns to control women who look like his wife by forcing look-a-likes to put wife’s cosmetics while he’s watching, which turns him on, and ultimately turns into accidental murder, which gives him feeling more power and control.Since wife leaves him, reminders of wife have him alternating between fury and fear of being alone and power and control by raping and killing.
PATRICE is a narcissistic wife and mother sells cosmetics door to door, is especially harsh on her daughter. Frustrated with absence of husband, starts asking daughter’s boyfriends to do odd jobs. Delusional with how badly her daughter treats her boyfriend, Patrice increasingly shows kindness and spends more time with the boyfriend until it’s a full blown affair. Patrice decides to leave her family behind and marry her new lover.
JASPER, a grave digger, accidentally kills his mother and moves in with his brother’s family. But Jasper misses his mother so much that he digs her up, and paints her face with Patrice’s makeup, holds her and talks to her all night. When he confides in his brother, he agrees to help him secretly bury the bodies of the ladies Ben kills. When Jasper finds his mother is missing one night, and the situation threatens the actions of Ben and his brother.

Renee Brown’s Character Descriptions
What I learned by doing this assignment is that I lack a solid anti-hero in my main character line up. I need to develop the Skyflier overlord, Dauntus, and bring him to the foreground. Also, one character I had as a main is backing into the shadows and is being replaced by Suzanne – a character that came alive 2 assignments ago.
Renee Brown’s Alien Earth: Main Characters
Tallas is the prophecy puppet master and wise man of the most ancient alien civilization on earth – the Longheads. He is training the One, who, according to prophecy will unite all alien species on earth. Only thing is…the prophecy was manufactured 150,000 years ago, and Tallas is still faking the “newly found” scriptures to keep the alien factions from destroying each other and humanity. He holds a grudge against the Deepers for an ancient act of genocide, yet he is raising one of their outcast hatchlings as his own.
Through clandestine rituals, Tallas telepathically downloads ancient knowledge to select humans then uses them as pawns. He harbors a secret love for the high priest’s mate and has been nursing it for 300 years. And the planet that has docked in lockstep orbit with earth? It is inhabited by Tallas’ long-lost ancestors. To keep the peace between humanity and all alien species, Tallas must give up his grudge and explain to an entire planet of ancient Longheads the state of their new home. As the series progresses we see Tallas’ journey of the last 600 years as he evolves from a naïve prophecy initiate, to a forger of ancient texts, to the jaded yet hopeful Longhead that just might be earth’s salvation.
Anauk is the first-born son of the Skyflier’s overlord. A resilient rebel, a fighter, and a lover, Anauk is a skyflier who cannot fly. Don’t let the cool kid act fool you — Anauk is a profound social activist. He charms everyone…except the object of his affection. He has ambitions to rule the Skyfliers, but for the good of all, not for the exploitation of the planet. The Skyfliers control access to the alien base on the dark side of the moon, and Anauk runs the Black-Market transports. His fee operates on a personal sliding scale and factors in his own very un-Skyflier-like political agenda. He struggles with obligatory loyalties to his father and his deep desire to Avenge his dead mother. This explains his broken wing, and his profound family disfunction.
Anauk allies with Tallas to protect the One and, in the beautiful, remote ice caves of Antarctica, he meets his true mate then repulses her with the arrogant protective shell he has polished his entire life. As the series progresses, Anauk bonds with his new inter-species alliances and wrestles with expectations and inner calling as he forms the Coalition of Truth and ignites the rebellion against tyranny. Anauk can fly again, but he will have to place himself in the hands of the Deepers. And Saltar’s biotech comes at a dangerous cost.
Saltar. Sultry, shrewd, and devastatingly beautiful, this reluctant leader of the Deepers is a triple threat and a double agent. The only female descendant left in the Deepers royal line, Saltar is forced to leave her peaceful sea farming life to rule when the Reptilisander council murders her mother. She craves love but can trust no one, and she protects her tender and lonely underbelly by ruling the Deepers with stone cold cunning and red-hot seduction.
Her species is blamed for the near annihilation of the ancient Longheads, but Saltar has suspicions that the Longhead origin ship was destroyed by another foe, and she is on a personal mission to prove it. Willing to trade her species’ biotech to access the base on the dark side of the moon, Saltar seduces, trades, and manipulates her way around sworn enemies and forbidden sexual tensions to give an ancient relic to the human military liaison in hopes that he will help her prove her theory of how the Starfinder was really destroyed.
She plays both sides of the Longheads and the Skyfliers and will do almost anything to get what she needs — Not because she is power hungry, but because it’s the only way she can protect her hatchlings. Saltar craves a simple, natural life but must navigate through her vicious matriarchal system and the tangled bed of alien factions to get to where she really wants to go – to exonerate her species and complete her unfinished life.
Steelman is the top-secret military liaison to all earth alien factions. Powerful, broken hearted, and reclusive, Steelman accidentally killed his wife long ago and grapples with guilt every second of every day. His father was an alien liaison before him and taught Steelman to always and only eat organic; not to be healthy and happy, but to save his life — as the series unfolds and the Greys come onto the scene, we learn how they have been conditioning their food source since the 1940’s: aka GMO humans.
Charged with returning concise intel to the military complex, Steelman betrays his duty and sabotages the elite human’s plan to destroy the alien base on the dark side of the moon. Why? Because he is in love with an alien, and she is being hidden on the moon base along with his unborn child.
When the Longhead origin planet appears between earth and mars, all hell breaks loose within the human covert complex. Steelman rides the wave of chaos and surrounds himself with the team he needs to come out on the right side of history. He knows how the factions tick and he has made friends as well as enemies within them. As the series progresses, we see Steelman’s military expertise morph into covert alliances as he partners with an unconventional archeologist to unravel an ancient mystery of murder and alien espionage.
Suzanne has salt of the earth moxie and the wisdom of years to back it up. Since the age of nine, she’s had visions of ancient cultures and a strange looking man with an elongated head. This subconscious programming led her to a career in archeology. She struggles with her mainstream colleges and has to hold her fringe theory tongue in order to keep her academic funding. This chafes her ass, and she occasionally funnels some of that funding to research alternative ancient history.
After publicly going head-to-head with the propaganda machine working to cover up the planet parked right next to earth, Suzanne’s sarcasm and irreverence gets her fired and her career demolished. She fears she will be killed for what she thinks she knows until Steelman takes her under his top-secret wing. Steelman’s relic has an impossible carbon dating, and she baulks until he introduces her to the Longhead man who has haunted her dreams since childhood.
Forced to acknowledge what she previously chalked up to fanciful imagination, and armed with the archeological smoking gun, Suzanne systematically crumbles human understanding of ancient history. As the seasons progress, we see Suzanne grow from frustrated and resentful academic to unofficial interspecies archeological expert and finally to the leader of the rebellion against tyranny and translator of ancient truth to humanity.

What I learned from this assignment is that I’ve created a baseline for my characters there are still some gaps but I will continue to fill those gaps and build out the characters throughout this course.
Green Lake
Jess Pearson
Jess Pearson is an ex-big city senior detective sent to investigate a murder and disappearance with a similar MO to that of her brother five years ago and in the same small town, Green Lake, where her family used to summer vacation.
She’s not averse to solving cases quickly through her secret hacking skills but in a small town everything is off the grid including the crime statistics at the local Sheriff’s office.
However, that’s not the only secret she has. She wonders how far she’ll get in her quest to take over Sheriff Moore’s small, but powerful office and whether Sarah Watson will ever forgive her.
Sheriff Linda Moore
Sheriff Linda Moore almost thirty years on the job is not ready to retire but has few options when ex- big city detective, Jess Pearson, arrives to work alongside her on a murder and disappearance case. Sheriff has history with Jess’ family and with Jess’ arrival she now knows for sure that she’s on borrowed time.
Sarah Watson
Sarah Watson artist and architect is on a mission to green Green Lake but is facing opposition from the local oil producers. Besides, she doesn’t have a right to tell others what to do, her family has owned the only gas station in town for the last 50 years. But Sarah is determined to lead the town to a more sustainable future that is until Jess Pearson walks back into her life. She finds herself in constant fight or flight mode and wonders whether she’ll ever be able to finish what she started.

What I learned from this assignment is the previous work helps you create compelling characters without tossing a bunch of info onto a page and hoping it sticks. Also using the previously created BW Framework gives you a resource to pull great info from and if the info sucks so will your characters, but you can always go back and fix them – as I have. 🙂

What I learned doing this assignment was that it is fun to brainstorm a characters’ profile by using the framework and asking the questions. The character intrigue can also trigger certain plot ideas.

<div>Joe’s SECOND STORY Character Descriptions</div>
What I learned doing this assignment is My main characters have surprised me today. They’re capable of much more, and I realized a comic element in the plot that I didn’t see before.
Who is the character? Role in the show? Henry Seymour, a mild-mannered, polite older man, who was a neighborhood hero
when he saved a local kid from drowning.
Noteworthy traits He is strong, but
vulnerable, possibly a book-worm, tends to have slight memory problems, is
funny, maybe a little absent-minded, but when crossed, has a surprising temper.
Intriguing history: Could never settle
down; went to the police academy; was an adjunct professor, a poor salesman,
worked in advertising, but never lasted long. He’s a daydreaming loser,
but an interesting one; he constantly surprises everyone.
Intrigue? Mystery? Had a suicide
attempt in the last year.
How do they support or drive
the conflict with others? He has sex-addiction, freely admits it; goes to sex-addicts
anonymous. He’s very unpredictable; no one’s sure what he’s going to do
next.
Irony — Opposites or paradoxes
that exist with the character: He seems benign, like an
absent-minded old man, but has a fire in his belly when crossed, and like
a dog with a bone, won’t let go.
Opposing agendas/etc. that
naturally causes conflict with other characters: He’s completely
unrealistic, a dreamer, but when pushed, can be obstinate, and won’t give
in.
Unpredictable? He constantly
surprises everyone around him, partly because he’s always lived a secret
life, has always sneaked around and shoplifted, and has a wild part of him
that no one sees—until it comes roaring out.
Intriguing relationship with
one or more characters He has a lovey-dovey relationship with Romee, and
is perhaps gullible, but believes it when she tells him she loves him. She
touches him, and he can’t help loving her.· START: Present the character as someone we can relate to. An older man who seems harmless and benign, gullible, like every horny guy on the planet who has never experienced much sex, certainly not love; we’re afraid he’s going to be fleeced.
· MIDDLE: Conflict, intrigue, and issues. When pressed, he expresses surprising skills that no one thought he possessed. He’s unpredictable, and has the ability to go a little crazy when crossed.
· ENDING: A final punchline that hooks us and sends us into the future of the story. When he’s lost everything, he becomes a Kamikaze, and goes farther than anyone thought possible.
3. Organize the answers and choose which you are going to use in your description of that character.
4. Sequence the info and write a START, MIDDLE, and END. Write a ROUGH DRAFT of the character description.
5. Continue steps 2 – 4 for each main character.
Who is the character? Role in
the show? Romee Daal, the Dutch girl,
who is 25.
Noteworthy traits – Intriguing
history Beautiful, sexy Dutch woman who is expert at posting sexy photos
online and expressing deep, emotional feelings of love for Henry, while
constantly asking him to send more money. Her father died when she was
young. A modern-day Heidi with a spectacular body.
Intrigue and Mystery? Certain things don’t
add up, like when she says her parents have CCTV installed in the house; like
when she never posts the photo when she says she’s in Vegas, who’s taking
these sexy, posed photos of her? Is she working with someone? Is it a man?
Is she a man? Is she a sociopath?
How do they support or drive
the conflict with others? She is relentless in the rhythm with which she
smooths Henry’s ruffled feathers and then posts another jaw-dropping photo
and gets him to send her more money.
Irony — Opposites or paradoxes
that exist with the character She seems really slutty, and a
sociopath, but expresses such seemingly true expressions of love to Henry
and really seems to mean it.
Opposing agendas/etc. that
naturally causes conflict with other characters: Appears out to
fleece Henry and maybe even get his wife’s pension. Is relentless in
getting money over the internet, will not stop asking for what she wants
and succeeds.
Unpredictable? Does she turn
against the violent people she’s in the scam with? Is she finally willing
to make love to Henry, and they get caught or stopped, and it increases
the audience’s hope that they will have sex.
Intriguing relationship with
one or more characters Her relationship with Henry, and words of love
appear to be authentic, and when she turns out to be his daughter; Henry
is tormented all over again, and Romee is willing, since she’s a hustler, to
have sex with Char, and wants Henry to watch.· START: Present the character as someone we can relate to. A spectacularly beautiful, sexy woman who speaks in broken English, who we’re a little in love with ourselves; although, we’re afraid that she’s going to fleece Henry.
· MIDDLE: Conflict, intrigue, and issues. All the various strategies she used to get money out of Henry; when the plot is revealed; she turns and her behavior is surprising. She turns out to be more authentic than we thought—she’s not a sociopath, after all, just a lonely, desperate woman using the internet to make her way.
· ENDING: A final punchline that hooks us and sends us into the future of the story. Romee is searching for love, wants sex and a father, not necessarily in that order!
Who is the character? Role in
the show? Charlotte ‘Char’ Seymour, Henry’s wife.
Noteworthy traits – Intriguing
history She put herself through law school and worked hard for 20 years,
became a partner, supported Henry and the family, and retired with a nice pension.
Intrigue and Mystery? She’s not the shrinking
violet that people think she is. She is very possessive of Henry, very
cost-conscious, and is more wily than people think she is. She has a
secret in her past that would surprise a lot of the people who underestimate
her.
How do they support or drive
the conflict with others? She is very stubborn and persistent, and wants to
be right. It’s the principal of the thing. And she’ll fight for her point
of view to the end.
Irony — Opposites or paradoxes
that exist with the character She feels like she’s not pretty
enough, nor sexy enough, but is very smart, and will figure a way to beat
Henry at his little game and best him and get what she wants.
Opposing agendas/etc. that
naturally causes conflict with other characters She’s quietly argumentative,
and never forgives or forgets, and will ultimately go to the mat to win,
and in the end, does win.
Unpredictable? Again, in her own
quiet way, she breaks all the rules and gets things done, and takes risks
that no one thought she would take.
Intriguing relationship with
one or more characters She outwits Henry at his own game, and finds a way
to do what Henry was doing—take care of a sexy young woman, but get what she
wants, rather than what Henry wants. She ends up Romee’s lover, much
to Henry’s torment.· START: Present the character as someone we can relate to. A seemingly loyal, boring, conventional wife who’s getting cuckolded by her husband, but outsmarts everyone at the finish.
· MIDDLE: Conflict, intrigue, and issues. Is fiercely possessive of Henry and her marriage and family; outwits even some gangsters, and shows Henry her amazing willingness to fight for his love..
· ENDING: A final punchline that hooks us and sends us into the future of the story. But in the end gets Henry’s love and his torment, which is just a cherry on top.

She is righteous, bossy and consistently on everyone’s nerves. She is not a team player, she is narcissistic. Does not share the equipment and uses Gwenn’s niceness to get things her way. She is consistent with the patients and does not waiver on her treatments. She has no ability to be creative and is just black and white. Every once and a while she will have a really touching moment with a patient, you will just start to melt the ice and then she will be back to herself.
Her father is in jail, so she says. She is close to God and talks about right and wrongs a lot alluding to people who may not be telling the truth and perhaps, “God will judge thee when the time is right.” She thinks Terry is idiotic and can’t stand her but realizes she knows enough to throw her under the bus but never does. He is often seen carrying a plunger to work on peoples knees.
Behind the scenes he is dealing with prostate cancer, and is treating his symptoms alternatively. Known for being an animal hoarder he has filled up his farm with multitudes of animals that he has left his wife and daughters to take care of. Marc Armstrong’s Character Descriptions
What I learned doing this assignment was that character development is going to be the most challenging part of writing for me. Between my job work demands and just an overall sense of not knowing where to go, I am submitting this response nearly 75 days late.
Nikolas Sutton
Role: Vigilante whose sole purpose is to avenge the murders of his family & other innocents.
Noteworthy traits: Moral character. Competitive sportsman. Overly confident.
Intriguing history: Source of rage comes from being held down by kidnappers while his girlfriend Sabrina was raped.
Intrigue? Inexperienced in combat and the use of weapons, yet pursues his targets fearlessly with reckless abandon. Will his girlfriend discover the truth? Will his drug trafficking be discovered?
Mystery? Nikolas comes home to find his parents, two brothers and sister have all been shot dead in a seemingly random manner.
Drive conflict? Nikolas’ revenge on Bryson’s brother causes Bryson much grief, yet it appears Bryson’s brother was innocent.
Irony: Seemingly morally upright, but is actually quite despicable.
Opposing agendas/conflict: His vengeance endangers his best friend and girlfriend.
Unpredictable? Rationalizes his actions as just steps in a sporting game.
Intriguing relationships: Nik alienates his best friend Brandon and the relationship gradually shifts from friends to near enemies. Is Charlie a true ally of Nik or does he have a revenge motive from high school? Will Nik discover Bryson’s affair with Sabrina and will it put a target on Bryson?
ROUGH DRAFT
START: A former high school star athlete turns vigilante to avenge the murders of his family. When he kills three of the four murderers, but one escapes, he decides to take the law into his own hands and similarly pursue other deserving criminals. His moral conviction and sense of sport helps him rationalize his newfound love by offering his captured targets one last fighting chance and releasing them only to be pursued a second time. If he catches them again, he will kill them, but if they evade capture for 10 days, they are forever free from Nik’s pursuit.
MIDDLE: Traits, inexperienced in use of weapons and combat, but pursues his targets with reckless abandon. Source of latent anger comes from years before when he witnessed his girlfriend being raped while he was detained. When Nik happens to see them, he is overtaken by rage with no intention of giving these rapists a second chance.
ENDING: Among Nik’s first victims was a falsely accused man whose brother Bryson is now out for revenge. It seems this innocent killing wasn’t Nik’s only stain. His longstanding stint as a drug trafficker contradicts everything he stood for, and it also may have been the real motive for his family’s murder.
Brandon Leek
Role: Nik’s best friend and chief confidant who helps by setting traps, but won’t kill.
Noteworthy traits: Loyal, certified genius, emotionally stoic
Intriguing history: Father’s suicide led to alcoholism, which he overcame only to become addicted to opioids.
Intrigue? Extremely intelligent and highly analytical, but will these assets be impaired by opioid use?
Mystery? Father’s suicide as the cause of his substance abuse is slowly revealed.
Drive conflict? Will his jealousy over Charlie’s blooming friendship with Nik drive him to harm or even kill Charlie or vice-versa?
Irony: Overcame alcohol only to become addicted to opioids.
Opposing agendas/conflict: A loyal asset to Nik whose addiction may endanger both of them.
Unpredictable? Opioid addiction leads to erratic behavior.
Intriguing relationships: The mutual hate between him and Nik’s girlfriend because to erode his friendship with Nik. He becomes rivals with Charlie over an alliance with Nik. Will their growing hatred for each other result in harm or death? His opioid addiction developed from Nik’s trafficking business, but Nik doesn’t make the connection.
ROUGH DRAFT
START: Best friend of Nik and his loyal confidant, who steadfastly maintains that he will help set traps for Nik, but will not kill. Has recently recovered from alcoholism only to develop an opioid addiction. It is slowly revealed that his substance abuse issues started after his father’s suicide.
MIDDLE: Brandon is a certified genius, highly analytical, but emotionally stoic. However, will his opioid abuse sabotage his intelligence and analytical capabilities? Will the erratic behavior caused by this addition, endanger him and Nik?
ENDING: His ongoing hatred for Nik’s girlfriend, Sabrina, has slowly eroded his friendship with Nik. Will Nik’s growing friendship with Charlie incite jealousy within Brandon sufficient for him to harm, or even kill, Charlie?
Charlie Anderson
Role: An outcast from high school where he was bullied, who goes through a similar tragedy as Nik, witnesses Nik in action and wants to get involved.
Noteworthy traits: Socially quirky, enamored with Nik, deceptive.
Intriguing history: To compensate for being perpetually bullied in high school, he secretly pursued the martial arts and is a black belt in Jiu Jitsu.
Intrigue? Due to his past, Charlie seems to be a big unhinged. Will he try to hurt or even kill Brandon or stick to killing the bad guys?
Mystery? What is Charlie’s true end game?
Drive conflict? Charlie’s attempt to sabotage Nik and Sabrina’s relationship by lying to her about Nik having an affair inadvertently leads to her affair with Bryson out of vengeance.
Irony: Charlie was bullied by Brandon in high school, but now Charlie bullies Brandon out of jealousy. Charlie’s weakness is female attention and his trigger is being judged, but he falls for a woman who is very judgmental. A genius with poor decision-making ability.
Opposing agendas/conflict: Desire to replace Brandon as Nik’s best friend.
Unpredictable? Charlie’s bullied past has him emotionally on-edge at all times.
Intriguing relationships: Charlie and Nik have become friends, but Nik is unaware that Charlie lied to Sabrina and has bullied Brandon to get there.
ROUGH DRAFT
START: A high school classmate of Nik and Brandon and outcast who was bullied due to his social quirkiness, suffers a loss similar to Nik, witnesses Nik in action exacting revenge and wants to get involved. He is enamored with Nik and is willing to deceive in order to be closer to him, including lying to Sabrina about Nik having an affair just to drive a wedge in their relationship.
MIDDLE: Unbeknownst to Nik and Brandon, Charlie has secretly attained the level of Jiu Jitsu black belt to compensate for his past. Charlie seems to be a bit unhinged and has begun to bully Brandon as he was bullied by Brandon in high school. Will he try to hurt or even kill Brandon or stick to killing the bad guys?
ENDING: It appears that Charlie desires to replace Brandon as Nik’s best friend; however, Nik is unaware that Charlie lied to Sabrina and has bullied Brandon to get there. What is Charlie’s true end game?
Bryson Volgard
Role: Brother of one of Nik’s first vigilante targets who only wants to avenge his brother’s death.
Noteworthy traits: Lethal, rages, wants to be his daughter’s hero.
Intriguing history: Raised in an abusive household, he is now an ex-Army Ranger with PTSD, and with his wife’s help, has learned how to live peacefully until Nik enters his life.
Intrigue? Has promised his wife that he has finally left his violent ways and desperately wants to be his daughter’s hero, yet he is now hiding his intense desire to avenge his brother’s death.
Mystery? He has enlisted the help of a fellow Ranger, but the viewer does not know who this mystery person is.
Drive conflict? To get intel on how to find Nik, he befriends Nik’s girlfriend Sabrina.
Irony: Poses as a meek family man, but is a raging killer. He has worked hard to be a devoted family man, yet he allows himself to be seduced by Sabrina.
Opposing agendas/conflict: Inadvertently puts Sabrina and her family in danger when he tracks Nik to her house.
Unpredictable? When Bryson finally finds Nik, he is shopping with his family.
Intriguing relationships: Bryson’s attempt to befriend Sabrina solely for intel on Nik backfires when they begin to have an affair, further complicating his double life.
ROUGH DRAFT
START: Brother of one of Nik’s first vigilante targets who only wants to avenge his brother’s death. Raised in an abusive household, he is now an ex-Army Ranger with PTSD, and with his wife’s help, has learned how to live peacefully until Nik enters his life.

He desperately wants to be his daughter’s hero and has promised his wife that he has finally left his violent ways; however, he is now hiding his intense desire to avenge his brother’s death from his family, but locates Nik while shopping with them. Will meek family man or raging killer prevail?
ENDING: To get intel on how to find Nik, he befriends Nik’s girlfriend Sabrina, who seduces him based on false pretenses. What started as a mistake has now turned into a full-blown affair, further complicating his double life. He has inadvertently put Sabrina and her family in danger when he tracks Nik to her house.
