THRILLER Day 2 The Big Mystery, Intrigue, and suspense.

What I leant is that any concept could become a thriller if you use these concepts. This is not necessarily the one I will write – but it’s a decent start.

1. What are the conventions of your story?

Unwitting but Resourceful Hero:

A reporter, handed the job of covering a scandal involving a superstar preacher.

Dangerous Villain: Superstar preacher connected to the rich and powerful.
High stakes: The reporter delves into the preacher’s past – uncovers his involvement with a high powered pedophile ring.
Life and death situations: There will be lots of them.
This story is thrilling because? The reporters key witness is in an asylum. The preacher is connected to the very rich and powerful. We don’t know if the ‘system’ will kill the reporter.

THE BIG MYSTERY

Why does an eleven year old boy commit suicide.

THE BIG INTRIGUE

The preacher is procuring kids for a pedophile organization.

The BIG SUSPENSE

Will the preacher succeed in having the reporter killed?

Dangerous Villain Serial Killer Wilma Davey

High stakes To catch the Serial Killer before they kill again.

Life and death situations: The serial killer is stocking Wilma

This story is thrilling because The serial killer knows everything that Wilma is thinking.

2. Tell us the Big M.I.S. of your story?

Big Mystery:

Wilma comes out of early retirement to catch a serial killer that eventually the evidence is pointing at her.

Big Intrigue: Wilma pops out and out of parallel lives. She’s the serial killer.

Big Suspense: the serial killer is hunting her.
