3. What is your Entertainment Vehicle that you will tell this story through?

What I learned:
I like separating the character arc from what I want the audience to learn. There’s a freedom but also a framework that helps focus the story on different levels.
Also, the Profound Truth I chose in this first pass can actually apply to multiple characters which added another interesting layer.

What I learned doing this assignment was how defining the profound truth helps to find the essence of the story I’m trying to tell as well as the main character’s arc. Also by focusing on what will shift for the audience helps focus on who you’re telling your story to and why.
Profound Truth: You are loved to the extent you are known and show your true self.
Audience: Consider the masks we are wearing and how removing them and living our authentic selves can change our lives and those around us for the better.
Entertainment: The world of Mascots

What I learned doing this assignment is I had overvalued the entertainment aspect of my screenplay and left the profound truth aspect kinda bankrupt. My main character is actually the change agent and I don’t really like the main character now. Gonna have to figure how to make him endearing to the audience.

What I learned from this exercise is knowing how easy it is to lose a few details while writing our stories/scripts, details that can completely change the core of the story. Those exercises are helping me a lot with my script. Cheers for that.

What I learned from doing this assignment is that once I understand the story’s profound truth and how I need to tell it, then the audience will react more positively to that. My goal has always been to create a film that can be rewatched for years to come, and this course in general helps me focus on what has been missing from the previous drafts of my script.

</div>What is your profound truth?
We are all part of one big community.
<div>
</div>WHAT IS THE CHANGE YOU WANT AN AUDIENCE TO MAKE?
The audience feels connected to everyone around them, even those who they would never associate themselves with. We can give up our prejudices, stereotypes and differences and instead see our common similarities instead.
