Day 3: What I learned …

I really liked breaking this scene into it’s various parts. I learned a lot about being more sly in how you get a character to come out of their shell by using other characters to do that. By Bagger calling out a future win Junah will have– it sets up the stage for Junah’s journey of overcoming obstacles to heal his wounds from the war physically and mentally to get his swing back to go after his dreams and get his life back mentally too. Strong lesson for me for my writing.

This story again uses a “legendary” mythic archetype, something I could make use of in several of my stories.

Adding to that I realized Junah is an open book… Bagger Vance is filled with mystical secrets! What exactly

is he going to pull out of his bag of tricks next? Makes me (the audience) feel intrigued.
