Dawn’s Villain Track!
What I learned doing this assignment is how to create a character’s progression so that it is strong and makes a worthy villain.
I. Villain Track Questions
A. What might be the Villain’s plan to accomplish an evil outcome or to annihilate the hero? The plan could be pre-existing or created on the spot.
· Villain creates plan before hero emerges (as the hero) or realizes what is happening
· Villain’s plan is to seek revenge on a previous nemesis and use hero to achieve other goals that will benefit him. Hero is caught up in this plan before becoming the hero who kills the villain.
B. How many ways can the Villain attack or destroy the hero?
· Send special/secret forces/agents to capture and then eventually kill hero
· Controls tech that’s embedded in hero’s blood to cause physical issues
· Villain himself faces off with hero to kill her
C. What advantage does the Villain have and how can they exploit that in this movie?
· Knows/can see all the options/obstacles hero is going to come up against so therefore stays a few steps ahead of hero
· Hero uses villain’s own methods against him; instead of running from him, she takes the fight directly to him; hero receives help from sources unexpected/unknown to the villain
D. What would be a “fitting end” for this Villain where they pay for what they’ve done?
· Villain realizes his original plan of revenge wasn’t completely successful
· Hero and original nemesis kill villain and are reunited
II. Include labels with each step of their plan. Develop your own set of labels, but make sure you clearly show decisions, plans, and actions your Villain takes.
· PLOT: Take revenge on hero’s family by framing father and killing mother.
· HOSTAGE: Kidnaps hero as a child to train and perform experiments on to see if she has the right levels of blood enzymes to operate specialized government tech.
· DISCOVERY: Years later, discovers hero is searching for information about her parents and who she really is.
· PLAN: Set her up to look like a traitor before she gets any closer to finding out who she is and what he has done.
· CHASE: He sends special forces capture her.
· ATTACK: Special forces attack hero’s lab which sends the hero on the run. Explosions, car chase, secret tech that allows hero to escape.
· TRACK: Special forces track hero using tech in her blood.
· ATTACK: Special forces attack hero again as hero tries to find hidden emergency equipment.
· FIGHT: Special forces fight with hero, but her enhanced abilities easily beat them.
· OBSTACLE: Special forces no longer able to use tech to track hero. Must use conventional means that takes longer to find hero.
· ATTACK: Special forces final find hero and another battle ensues.
· THWART: Villain disables special tech which removes hero’s enhanced ability injuring hero but she narrowly gets away.
· DECISION: Villain realizes hero is bringing the fight directly to him.
· PREPARATION: Villain prepares to fight hero in person.
· FINAL BATTLE: Hero fights villain without enhanced abilities and is close to dying.
· FITTING END: Villain is killed by hero and original nemesis and witnesses their reunification

In this story, a horrible villain pursues a plan to destroy the hero’s home and people. The hero rises in response to the villain’s threat. Do or die. The escalations include increasing jeopardy, increasing numbers of enemy soldiers, increasing violence, and a fitting end of poetic justice for the villain.
