Week 2, Day 4. (Ocean’s 11)
What I learned rewriting my scene was that I had three characters whom I had not placed in a triangle, but they had all the potential to form a triangle. I had just kept the two males at a distance from one another and the female, my Protagonist, was the only link. However, the breakthrough this scene from Ocean’s 11 has provoked is that I will make the triangle tighter. I will have more conflict between the two males, and this conflict will derive from their respective relationships with the Protagonist. This is a breakthrough, since it will introduce more conflict and drama into my script.
END.

What I learned?
As of now, I have no character triangles which has caused me to rethink and search for the possibility of structuring one or more in my script.

still in rethink mode. i do have a triangle in one of the screenplays but it is more complicated than one that is up front for all three to see. the idea i mentioned in the last paragraph for Day 4 though, kind of extends the triangle to be a substructure configurable into nearly every dramatic scene.

The relationship between my villain and her two henchmen is rife with triangle possibilities. This will make for some fun interplay whenever they are together.

What I learned from this assignment: The Ocean’s 11, A-list star studded franchise is very entertaining and successful with great repartee and stunts, however I’ve never felt an emotional connection with the characters. That said, I believe that each primary character should be written so that audiences can make that character bond.

What I noticed is that I have several triangle relationships already in play. What I learned is that several are just Too nice! Definitely planning rewrites for added tension and action.
