Day 5: Denise’s Character Journey.
What I learned doing this assignment is to add structure to the character’s journey and see its fit for the story.
1. What role does this character play in the concept?
2. What is the beginning and ending of this character’s journey?
Beginning:
How they are introduced to the audience.
Ending:
How they “go out” in this movie.3. Design that into a 3-Act Structure for this character. What are the turning points of this character’s journey?
With those answers, simply fill in the blanks.
Deborah’s Character Journey
Beginning: Deborah doesn’t go to church but is curious about God especially since she is left with the responsibility to care for her younger siblings after her parents divorced and left them. She has just received her first paycheck. She goes to the neighborhood grocery store to cash it and buy food.
Turning Point: Deborah is at the money booth to cash her check when a gunman enters, puts gun to her head, and demands money from the store manager.
Midpoint: Denise is afraid the panicked gunman will lose control of his finger that’s on the trigger. She convinces gunman to allow her to get down onto floor because she wants to get out of the middle of the conflict between the two.
Turning Point 2: Deborah hears the gunshot and blacks out. She believes she’s dead and has an encounter with God.
Dilemma: Deborah thinks it’s the end for her but is still concerned about leaving her siblings. She doesn’t know what to do and asks God for his help.
3rd Act Climax: Deborah is returned from the presence of God. No evidence of a gunshot wound. She continues to care for her siblings and returns to college.
Ending: She gives her life to Christ.
Mr. Green’s Character Journey
Beginning: Mr. Green is a sole proprietor who manages his grocery store alone. He is conducting his weekly accounting of earnings behind a bullet proof booth and bags the cash for a bank deposit. He is very protective of his earnings.
Turning Point: Deborah enters wanting to cash her check. Gunman follows and puts gun to Deborah’s head demanding the cash. Mr. Green knows he is protected behind his bullet proof booth and mocks the gunman’s request for money.
Midpoint: Mr. Green refuses to give gunman money but is concerned about Deborah. He demands the gunman leave and calls the police.
Turning Point 2: Gunman fires gun and Mr. Green sees Deborah fall.
Dilemma: Mr. Green doesn’t know what to do. Does he keep the money or give it to the gunman so that he will leave, and Deborah can be spared if not already dead.
3rd Act Climax: Mr. Green learned that life is more important than money and thanks God for sparing Deborah.
Ending: His business thrives again.
Adrias Character Journey:
Beginning: Adrias is frustrated about how his life has turned out. He is tired of dead ends attempts to salvage his life that has only taken him further away from the life he desires.
Turning Point: Adrias struggling to keep a roof over his head has just received an eviction notice. He can’t imagine a life of homelessness again.
Midpoint: Adrias has knowledge about Mr. Green’s weekly deposits and heads to the store to rob him. He sees Deborah at the front of the store and puts gun to her head to threaten Mr. Green to hand over the money.
Turning Point 2: Adrias fear takes over and he fires his weapon. Deborah falls to the floor.
Dilemma: What’s does he do now that Deborah is no longer a viable hostage. Does he leave without the money and face his homelessness, or does he take a chance of being caught by the police if he remains?
3rd Act Climax: Adrias gets away with the money, pays his rent. His life gets back on track, and he secretly sends money to Mr. Green once monthly paying back the amount he robbed.

ASSIGNMENT 5, N Lucas Character Journeys!
What I learned from doing this assignment is the importance of each charaacters journey. And.. I really DID like doing this assignment. This provides more of an ‘outline’ to envision each characters story line.
1. For each of your main characters, create a 3-Act Structure of their journey.
So, I did it for my main character- the Store Owner
Beginning: Normal ‘Parade Day’ Chaos at a local
Turning Point: Discovery of Mayor’s speech
Midpoint: Machines break at store or other setbacks.
Turning Point 2: Love interest arises for several characters
Dilemma: Don’t have the equipment or manpower to pull the foil off—and what if someone finds out?!
3rd Act Climax: Trying to get the job done- but set backs ensue
Ending: End of parade—love ties complete- end of day at the store- the crew celebrates with other town officials…..

Rolando’s Character Journeys!
What I learned doing this assignment is that by doing this process I was able to better flesh out the trajectory of each individual character but have them make decisions that affect the story and the other characters.
SCOTT
Beginning: Gets fired from his internship. Needs money ASAP to get loans paid that are past due. Decides
to do OnlyFans for money.
Turning Point: After accepting a generous offer from Daddy, Scott soon realizes that Daddy’s intentions are far more sinister.
Midpoint: Scott quits the game, risking losing all the money he earned but pits one roommate against him, compelling her to stab Scott.
Turning Point 2: Scott is held against his will by Jay and Lulu for the money.
Dilemma: Escape with his life and lose the money or try to save his friends from an inauspicious outcome.
3rd Act Climax: He stands up to Daddy. Tells him he doesn’t care what’s posted. Doesn’t want the money anymore. Daddy sends all videos and pictures to all Scott’s friends, family, and for
the world to see.
Ending: Scott wakes up the next day as an internet porn star, raking in all the money he needed through his OnlyFans account through his subscriptions.
JAY
Beginning: Parents found out where Jay lives and try to get money from him. He wants to change his identity and move away from them.
Turning Point: Jay learns about Daddy’s offer and decides to join in.
Midpoint: Jay’s friendship with Scott is put to the limit when Daddy instructs Jay to perform and sex act on Scott that is too personal and can’t go through with it.
Turning Point 2: Jay joins forces with Lulu to prevent Scott from losing the money for both of them.
Dilemma: Does Jay go against his feelings for Scott or forgo the money to salvage what is left of the friendship?
3rd Act Climax: Jay sacrifices himself due to the shame of how he has let his greed hurt his best friends.
Ending: Jay kills himself.
LULU
Beginning: Loses out in getting yet another grant for her film project. Is always criticized by her mother for becoming a filmmaker instead of a doctor.
Turning Point: Takes Daddy’s offer to make money.
Midpoint: Stabs Scott for money.
Turning Point 2: Joins forces with Jay to hold Scott against his will to prevent any other issues with getting the money.
Dilemma: Go for the money or risk having the stabbing video sent to the police?
3rd Act Climax: Lulu tries to convince the roomies that they should all take their medicine and let everything come out. To not let Daddy have this amount of power over them.
Ending: With Jay dead, Lulu is killed by Scott for the money.

Alvoro’s Character Journey’s
What I’ve learned doing this assignment is that it was easier than I thought. The hardest part was thinking that it would be hard. I lined three characters across and filled in from beginning to ending for each of them at the same time. It made it easier to see more of the story, by doing them together.
Head Guard
B-Intro arrival of custodians
TP-Intro of the Main Threat
MP-Makes Choice to trust
TP2-Plan Fails
D-Trusts Ex Con
3AC-Threat Destroyed
E-Awaits Rescue
New Custodian(ExCon)
B-Arrives with others
TP-Lockdown
MP-Chooses to Fight
TP2-Creates New Plan
D-Trusts Guards
3AC-Threat Destroyed
E-Awaits Rescue
