1. Looking over the Day 4 and 5 lessons, create a plan of at least 10 actions you are going to take in the next 60 days to build a strong social network and connect with producers.
2. Go to Twitter and look through our list of producers. Follow at least five of them that you feel comfortable meeting through Twitter. If you don’t have a Twitter account, sign up now. We use Twitter for many things in the PSA, so you’ll be ahead of the curve when you get there.
3. On the five producers you’ve followed on Twitter, read through their tweets and find something they’ve said that you can make a comment about.
4. Post the following:
A. Your plan (from #1 above)
1. Contact my proseries group for creation of a writer’s feedback group.
2. Get onto Linkdin
3. Get into producer’s group on Linkdin.
4. Finish one script
5. Rewrite another script.
6. Campaign for ##4 & 5 to get made.
7. Make contact with managers and producers.
8. Conduct a staged reading of the screenplays of #4 & 5.
9. Secure Entertainment Attorney.
10. Whatever book option is needed.
B. Your Twitter address: r_smith4646.
C. I am following most of the producers on the SU list.
D. Your experience of approaching producers this way.
Have not yet approached producers.

What I learned is that though I dislike social media, literary agents and publishers will require it to publish my huge trilogy so I must keep my focus so I don’t waste precious writing time. I signed up for Twitter and will combine fitness and writing on the Face and Linked In so if my trilogy is published, I can develop a base. I am following entertainment, SU, and publishers and will make comments when inspired. I don’t want to spoil my one chance by approaching producers prematurely. But I am getting ready for agents and publishers if I could only be more visual and better at word painting. I am good at Zoom readings so I will organize some with groups around the world with alumni reunions once I have a contract. I tend to make outrageous, intellectually effervescent comments so I must make sure I don’t do anything to damage future employment. Otherwise I will be living as well as eating with the homeless. Every day I am reminded that despite my education and experience, or maybe because I am a useless intellectual, I am teetering on the brink of destruction.

Amy is Expanding her Network
What I learned doing this assignment is producers and other industry contacts are highly accessible on Twitter.
A. Your plan: (more like this year instead of the next 60 days)
1. Finish my Pro Series script and get it in good shape.
2. Rewrite my two other scripts.
3. Interact with producers on Twitter.
4. Connect with producers on LinkedIn.
5. Pitch to producers once my scripts are ready.
B. Your Twitter address: @amythescribe
C. The producers you followed: I don’t know if these are producers specifically associated with ScreenwritingU.
1. Julia Verdin
2. Steven Kaplan
3. Imprint Entertainment
4. Seth Nagel
5. William Horberg
D. Your experience of approaching producers this way: I have never approached producers this way. I will reserve that for when I have something that gets a consider or above from coverage.

Sorry, I hate Twitter but I’ll use all my other platforms. I too have Fitness branded platforms for my other career, but I’ll either combine or ditch the fitness

Budinscak Is Expanding His Network
Day 5
What I learned doing this assignment:
o I have no social media presence whatsoever.
o Above will be addressed as the first part of my 60-day plan.
o The absolute need to be realistic given all the variables, priorities and commitments. Be realistic and be prepared.
10 Actions:
o Develop a professional presence on social media by updating my Linkedin profile. Link to ScreenwritingU.
o Open a Twitter account. Link to ScreenwritingU.
o Finish polishing my script and submit it to a noted Hollywood script coverage/consulting firm.
o I need a ‘recommend’ from noted script coverage firm to push open a few doors.
o Research Producers/Agents/Managers for my genre (coming of age, family road trip).
o Identify A-list actors for the main role.
o Initiate marketing plan to broaden current network.
o Develop further high concept story and finish essence outline.
o Enter contests and pitchfests.
o Develop ancillary materials – query letter, polished logline, synopsis, summary, quality pitches
o Write. Every. Day.
o Make smart decisions, focused strategies to broaden contacts – give before get.
I will have to accept an incomplete for the balance of this assignment. I did not open a Twitter account yet, and I did not follow any producers. I will as soon as I complete the overhaul of my Linkedin profile.

Wilke Durand – THE VILLAIN’S PLAN
Create the end goal of the Villain. What are they trying to accomplish or stop that is so valuable that they’ll go to any means to achieve the goal?
· Gynecologist wants the baby for himself to give it to a disturbing pedophile network. He blackmailed them, but they turned it around and demand a baby. They are influential people and capable to have him disappear. They will kill the girl when it’s all over.
Look for how the Villain might execute the plan. What would need to take place to make that plan happen in a covert way? Brainstorm devious, dangerous, secretive, and even disturbing ways your Villain could make all of this could happen.<div>
· He doesn’t perform an abortion on the girl.
· He lies to the billionaire couple about his motives.
· He blackmails the girl’s stepfather: don’t report her missing otherwise I’ll go to the police and tell them you sexually abused your stepdaughter.
· He abducts the girl when she runs away. He chases her. She falls so hard; she loses the child.
· Now he wants to kill her.
How can the villain’s plan and actions be covered up?
· He lies about the abortion; she will find out she’s pregnant when it’s too late.
· He lies to the billionaire couple about his motives
· He tells the girl the billionaire couple is villains and that they have forced him not to perform the abortion. She must trust him. The couple is villain because they are abusing young girls. But they do want to have the baby.
Sequence them to make it as intriguing as possible — starting with the first event that is dangerous.</div><div>
· Stepfather threatens to kill her if she doesn’t do as she’s told. She tells him she’s pregnant.
· They see the gynecologist. He’s extremely nice to her. Finds out stepdad is the father. Sends him home. Don’t come looking for her. She’s in good hands now. Otherwise, I’ll go to the police. We don’t know if this is part of his covert plan. We think he wants to help the girl.
· Abortion scene. She’s under but there doesn’t seem to be happening much. Phone call with billionaire couple. They send a car.
· Boat ride to the island. The girl throws up. Is normal after an abortion your body still thinks it’s pregnant.
· Billionaire couple nice. There are more girls there. She wants to call home. They won’t let her.
· Villain acts like he’s protecting her. She wants to escape; he says he will help her, but he tells the billionaire couple.
· The girl finds out she’s still pregnant. He examines her and tells her he doesn’t understand but she doesn’t have to worry, the couple would want to have the baby. She doesn’t want the billionaire couple to have her baby.
· He smuggles her from the island. She stays at his house and finds out about the pedophile network and his trade with girl trafficking.
· She flees. Goes to her mother, but her stepfather is in on it. Stepdad is the father of the child. Is blackmailed by the gynecologist. She is chased by them. Stepdad kills the gynecologist.
· Stepdad goes after the girl, who reaches the police station but the girl is still reported missing and he is allowed to take her home.
· He drives her into the woods and tries to kill her. She loses the baby but manages to kill him with help of the female detective.
· Billionaire couple is arrested.
· Bittersweet ending. Mother in hospital with girl and detective. The girl won’t go back home.
