Sharilyn Completed P/S Grid#1
What I learned doing this assignment is…I need another set of eyes to read & review my work. I get why a writing team and room is necessary.
Problem #5: Weak Teaser
Solution: Interesting Action
I tweaked some visuals of Erin eating and moved scenes around so we end with Walley being fearful and suspicious and not saying it. Trying to “show and not tell” his anxiety, her food addiction,
Problem #12: Missing Set-ups for future episodes
Solution(s):
1. Look at the TV Pitch Bible for the list of episodes.
2. Brainstorm payoffs that could be in those episodes.
-Oops! The Pilot and episode 1 meld together.
-Episode 3 still has remnants of the Pilot in it. I’m repeating myself.
3. Work backwards to determine if you might use new setups for those payoffs
Intrigue us about them
The episodes are weak compared to the Pilot. I actually have to rewrite their descriptions as I set up a lot in the Pilot and am not delivering in the episodes.

Tom Completed P/S Grid #1
I’m feeling a bit apprehensive about saying this, but I reviewed all of the possible problems to solve for and nothing jumped out. Today I printed the first draft and read through the entire thing, and again, I felt it flowed well. I definitely believe that there is always room for improvement, but all of the elements in this first grid were present. I’m going to keep this chart handy and continue thinking about it, but in the spirit of keeping this training rolling, I’m moving on.
