    Hi, I’m Harry Rankin
I’ve written about 8 scripts across several genres and had one optioned.
I hope to reinforce the impact of my scripts with this class.
Although I will not be actively contributing as I am ultra-busy at present, I will be paying attention so that I can apply the insights to my current script rewrite, and will go through the course at a later date in detail.
Unique? Well…. I live in a boat on the river Thames near Richmond (London).

Hi, I’ve written 2 scripts and there is one that I’ve tried to write with depth, so I’ll test it with these profound models.

    2. How many scripts you’ve written? Too many to count, all forms, shapes and sizes…
    3. What you hope to get out of the class? Continue my path of becoming a MUCH better writer with depth.
    4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you? I am a live production event sound engineer/mixer/specialist that also runs Props for a local semi-professional ballet company shows during Nut’ season. (I like a challenge—over 1000s props.). Although, I do fog up the stage with dry ice during the performances and set the cannons with fire extinguisher effects so there’s that… 😉

Hi, I’m Mark Roeder. I’ve written 7 feature length scripts. I want my screenplays to be profound.

I’ve made some unique, award-winning short films, like Fire Ripples, about an escaped mental patient (me) who drags a female fire fighter into a raging forest fire and has to control his nature. I did this to develop my craft so I could direct a feature, and whatever genre it is (horror, thriller, sci-fi or fantasy) I want it to be profound. Thank you!

    Hi, I’m Jenn Quintenz.
I’ve written features, TV episodes, novels, and graphic novels.
I’m always looking for ways to learn more about writing!
Not sure if this is unique, but I like to think of myself as an “extreme gardener” which encompasses everything from building decks and chicken coops, to planting food forests, to installing porous capsule irrigation systems and in-ground Hügelkultur beds.

    • I have written about a dozen scripts.
    • There is a script I wrote for the Writing Incredible Movies class that I would like to submit March 1st to the Nicholl Fellowship competition—but it is lacking a certain je ne sais quoi, so I plan to revise it using the Profound model.
    • I live in the Catskill Mountains. I once chased away a large black bear using a technique I picked up from watching Grizzly Man. Fortunately—unlike the subject of the documentary—the bear did not eat me.

    Hi Everyone,

    1. My name is Linda Anderson.
    2. I wrote four scripts. None are ready to market yet. But I had two stage plays produced.
    3. I write about things I care about deeply. I want to improve characters and plots that will get messages out in entertaining and impactful ways.
    4. My husband and I wrote a series of books with true stories from all over the world about the extraordinary ways animal and people connect with and help each other. One book became a NYT bestseller and I'm adapting it into a screenplay.

    2. 2 'completed', 2 in shitty first draft phase, 3 outline or less…
    3. I've taken this class before but get stuck when I'm dissatisfied with parts of the script and not sure how to fix the issue. Hope this class will help me address those issues.
    4. I have 4 horses. I compete at the equestrian sport of eventing.

    Hi Everyone,
I am Sandra Nelles and I have written 6 screenplays (5 features and 1 tv pilot). From this class I hope to make one of my features more profound. Something unique about me is that I have lived in various parts of the US and worked in several occupations, including criminal justice and mental health. Looking forward to meeting all of you.

HI everyone, my name is Paul Penley

After I finish this class I will have written seven scripts.

I’ve had a short film produced and sold.

My goal is to create a story so well written and profound that it cannot be passed up and will be sold/produced.

Unfortunately, there is nothing profound about me. I have spent the last 33 years working behind the scenes in the film industry and hope to retire at 60 years of age. Screenwriting has always been my dream job.

I look forward to reading your story ideas and wish you all the best with this class and your future endeavors.

    1. I’m Barbara Jacksha
    2. I’ve written four features, a handful of shorts. I’ve actually switched to novel writing, which feels like home to me, but I still find the ScreenwritingU teaching so helpful.
    3. I’ve taken this class before and used this hugely effective model. I’m hoping to refresh my learning/skills and pick up new things that I can apply to the new book I’m working on.
    4. I’m pretty sure I saw a UFO a few years ago.

    1. Name
    Gerard Tretton

    2. How many scripts you’ve written?
I haven't written any screenplay scripts. I am not a screenplay writer.
I am an economist with a story to be told.
I was going to tell my already developed profound story in a book.
But a huge breakthrough a year or so ago made me realize that it needed a
visual and sound presentation, therefore a film.
But, I am not a screenplay writer, so I need to cooperate with a professional
screenwriter who can be as passionate about the story as I am.

    3. What you hope to get out of the class?
I have been investigating screenwriting and need to learn more in order to work the best with
    my not-yet-found creative partner.

    4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you?
Thirty seven years I got sober at age 42 and my life has been recreated.
    Thirty years ago, I took a what-was-to-be a one-year sabbatical, to travel
through South America. On one stop in the Andes of Ecuador in the precious
Spanish Colonial of Cuenca, I met my wife to be, and have been here 30 years, with
occasional periods of time in the USA. I am from beach-cities Southern California.

    Hello all.

My name is margo. I’ve written 5 feature length scripts and 4 shorts. I have taken the ProSeries, the Rewrite class, and all of the AI classes. I started the comedy class, but am putting it aside to focus on the Profound class.

I hope to get out of this class more tools for my toolbox and a means to elevate my writing.

One of the few special things about me is that I had the privilege to work with Stewart Stern (screenwriter of “Rebel Without a Cause” and “Sybil)” for a brief period in his later years.

We look forward to working with you all!

    Hi Everyone,
I’m glad t be in this very interesting class. I have had writing experience in many other areas during the course of my career, but I am new to screenwriting. So, I am looking forward to learning about screenwriting and writing the best screenplay that I can write by taking this course and other courses in screenwriting. I look forward to the class interaction and breakthroughs over the course of this course.

    Hi,

    My name is Brent Kinetz.

I’ve probably written 20 scripts, though most of them are short films, and only about six would I say I really finished. Some of them I have made into short films.

I feel like I’m pretty good at helping friends find ways to make their scripts better, perhaps even more “profound.” I just have a strong sense reading someone else’s work, what it needs. But when it comes to reading my own writing, I find it very hard to to do the same. I am too old to care about becoming Hollywood’s next hot screenwriter, so what I really want to do is write my own stories that I really care about and that have a quality to make others care equally and in similar ways about it — for us both to go on that profound journey. With this said, I hope this class helps me be able to make my own stories better, and more profound.

I guess it’s a little unique that I am an American but live in Stockholm Sweden. This time of year, I’ll be doing almost all my work in the dark, even if just after lunch!

Looking forward to going through this program with you all!

hi I’m David g, and some of you know me from previous classes and from toastmasters…}I have written five scripts of which only one was deemed by me to be marketable… the others were abandoned or put on hold,,, I still have hope for some of them… however I was excited by the idea of using AI in brainstorm stage, and so I hope to produce a completed outline of something that is outside my comfort zone thru this class.
on unusual things about me: a former correspondent for BBC, NPR, the Times, today I live in Medellin, Colombia : backdrop for tv series such as Narcos and stuff about Pablo Escobar, whose death in 1993 continues to be a subject of controversy, just as Colombia continues to export cocaine to the world…

    Hi all,

    I’m Joe McGloin

I’ve written 8 or 9 full length screenplays, one optioned, and wrote or co-wrote 3 shorts for the 48 Hour Film Festival.

I hope to continue to improve all facets of my writing so all of my screenplays can become marketable.

Something unique about me: It took me a week to figure out how to get into this site. Now, a fun race to get caught up. This is my favorite class by SU. The first one was fantastic. Looking forward to this one!!
