    Hi everyone,

I’m glad you’ve joined us for the class.

To start the class out, please introduce yourself below. That will give you a chance to be part of this group and learn how the forums work.

    Tell us the following:

    1. Name?

    2. How many scripts you’ve written?

    3. What you hope to get out of the class?

    4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you?

We look forward to working with you all!

I am Rebecca Sukle and have written. And completed and copyrighted three scripts with one still in progress. I hope this class will help me with my forth script, an idea I came up with in the Writing Incredible Movies class to craft and elevate it as a thriller. I always learn something new about scriptwriting with each class I take. This will be my ninth.

Something strange and wonderful about me is my interesting but quirky family history providing me with many “you can’t make this up” stories to inspire my writing.

Hi, I’m Agnes McCourt, and I’m glad to join you all. I am still working on a few scripts in a few genres, which I hope to perfect through more screenwriting exercises.

I’m now a retired, Training and Adult Curriculum Development Specialist and hope to bring my writing experience to this program.

    Hello,

Michelle here, from California. I have written three scripts and am in the middle of rewriting a thriller but am stuck. Instead of giving up, I enrolled in this course to gain new perspective.

In the next 30 days, I hope to freshly map the thriller and look at the script with new eyes even if that means scrapping it and starting from a blank page.

What’s strange, unique, or unusual about me? I speak four languages (three fluently) and enjoy traveling with my passport carrying Welsh Terrier.

My name is Zachary Hunchar. Libra. Fan of whiskies.

I’ve never written a feature script—plenty of comic book scripts and a few manuscripts.

I want to get better at Thrillers, in general. Though I do have a feature idea I’m trying to work out.

My full name Zachary Charles Hunchar has “char” in it three times.

I’m looking forward to working with you!

Hello everyone. I’m Liz Janzen. This will be my fifth course with ScreenwritingU.

I have seven completed scripts, including two which I want to elevate from suspensers to actual thrillers by participating in this program. So rather than starting with a new idea I’ll be reworking one of my existing stories.

Something unique about me… I worked in broadcasting for a number of years but my passion has always been film.

Hello everyone, my name is Karen Christine.

I have worked in the film industry several years ago and took a “side-step” into the publishing world for more than 10 years, which fortunately turned out to be successful. I have written about 40 books (series mainly) for children which have been published in 10 languages by Penguin Random House and others.

I have been the CEO of my own publishing house in the past 8 years, and closed this company last year to concentrate on my writing and helping other authors and entrepreneurs to improve their writing and visibility.

I have written 3 scripts, and never a thriller, so I take this class as an exciting opportunity to grow and meet you all 🙂

My mother tongue is German, I am living and working in Germany and Tenerife/Canary Islands right now.

Something about me: I absolutely love the Sea (Pacific Ocean in Santa Monica and Atlantic Ocean in Tenerife). Must have been a mermaid in former lives 😉 That´s why I always seek to spend as much time as possible by the water and in the Sun.

And: I love learning and discovering new ways. That´s why I am in 2 other classes of ScreenwritingU parallel to this class, which are all great fun and already helped me to experience a quantum leap in my writing.

Thank you so much, Cheryl and Hal! Looking forward to meeting you in person one day.

Good luck to all of you 🙂

Hi, I’m Carmen Radtke. I’m a published novelist – mostly cozy mysteries, both contemporary and historical. When it comes to writing scripts, I hop genres depending on the story, but tend to come back to suspense/thriller. I’ve written 5 feature scripts and two tv pilots. One pilot won the emerging screenwriter competition in the mystery/crime genre and I’m actively developing that concept with a director.

This class will hopefully give me the final push I need to make my scripts leap off the page. Anything that makes us better writers is always good, right?

I started my professional writing live as a newspaper reporter in my native Germany before I moved to New Zealand, then the U.K., and lately, Italy (still learning the language!)

Hi, my name is Michael L Harris

I’ve written over a dozen shorts and multiple commercial industrial scripts, I’ve adapted 3 features from source scripts and have 3 originals in development.

I hope to gain a better understanding of thriller conventions and how I can incorporate them into my work.

An unusual thing about me is I grew up in a funeral home.

I’m Agnes McCourt and I am happy to be part of Mastering the Thriller Genre.

I have a few scripts on the go, but not completed yet. I am just retiring from my full time job, as a Training and Adult Curriculum Development Specialist at the City of Toronto. I was born and have lived in Toronto, Canada my entire life.

I have traveled to many interesting places around the world, meeting people from all walks of life.

I have taken additional courses in a many different areas, over the past 40+ years, preparing myself to get seriously into screenwriting.

I hope to learn more about actual screenwriting concepts to help me complete my scripts already in progress, and new ideas for new scripts, as well.

I hope to learn more about writing tighter and more gripping scripts.

I have been writing in various ways for many years, in a wide variety of different occupations.

I have many hobbies including film which started at an early age. I love many genres of music, both listening and playing instruments. I was a downhill skier for 20 years. I studied karate, fencing and ballroom dancing over the years. I love the outdoors and hope to write up in my northern retreat in the summer and fall months.

I’ve had a very interesting life from childhood to the present, and hope to be able to incorporate some aspects of those experiences in my scripts.
