My name is Marguerite (Margie ) Langstaff. I have written four scripts. I hope to learn to write a marketable movie script…..and to energize and stimulate my imagination so that it won’t take me forever to think up new ideas and etc. The unique things about me include that I was a judge and spent 30 years on the bench, I am almost 88 years old, have five children, 13 grand children and two great grands, live in a retirement center in Colorado and just lost my dear husband of 67 years. It has been a wonderful journey, and I pray it isn’t over!
-
Hi, Marguerite! I’m sorry about your loss š But you seem like an unstoppable force!
-
Good to meet you Marguerite. I’m sorry the loss of your husband. What a wonderful class to take to share your creativity. Kudos! I’m working to complete my first script. Enjoy!
-
Hello Marguerite,
Glad youāre in this class. Like Cassie, said sorry for your loss šš½ Looking forward to reading your writing and learning.
Warmly,
Eden

My name is Adrienne Watkins. I joined the class because I want to write an incredible script.
This is my first time attempting the challenge of script writing. I’m looking forward to the tools this course will teach me to make my script writing a success and learning from fellow students.
I must add I thoroughly enjoyed the “Writing Incredibly Movies” introductory course. Especially because it encouraged us to have fun, take baby steps and be patient with ourselves. Also, to turn in assignments as soon as possible and to keep forums comments positive and encouraging.

My name is Eden Young. I have co-written one script and would like to learn to independently write something worth while on my own. I, also, hope to learn to open up my imagination and harness my ideas quickly and bring them to life. I love story telling and making people laugh. I’m a Buddhist Nerd and have been practicing Nichiren Buddhism for 24 years. Chanting Nam-Myoho-renge-kyo definitely brought this wonderful opportunity in my life at just the right time. I am so excited to start this journey with all of you. Thank you! š¤©

Hello, Eden! I started studying Buddhism back in 2014 and it changed the whole course of my life. Not even overstating. Love it! š

Hello everyone – My name is Brian Bull.
I have 7 scripts that I would consider completed and I have 5 other scripts in different stages of development.
I know this class will empower me to improve the scripts I have completed and get them into the right hands and made into movies!!! I am also confident that this class will better my understanding of story ideas / concept and marketability so the scripts I have in development will get written and made into movies/TV shows.
Johnny Depp asked if he could have his assistant take pictures of my eyes so he could have contacts made for his upcoming character role – the character was Whitey Bulger and the movie was Black Mass.
-
What’s up, Brian! You gotta add a profile picture–Johnny Depp fell in love with your eyes!
-
I won’t say he “fell in love” with my eyes. I believe the exact words he used were, “Hey buddy, I don’t want to sound gay but you have the craziest eyes I have ever seen and I was wondering if my assistant could take a picture of them for a movie role I am going to be in.” Then, when the movie came out every article said, “you couldn’t tell it was Johnny Depp with his blonde hair and “deadly eyes”, “killer blue eyes”, “ice cold eyes”.
-
-
Kinda feel like you should be getting some sort of royalty for “eye IP” in that movie, Brian.

Hello Everyone. My name is Shira Marin.
I’m revising my first script.
In our class, I aim to up-level my script to “incredible” status. I happily anticipate a lively and creative group engagement.
Unique? I worked as an actor, singer-songwriter, a Ph.D. in Psychology, and for many years, a licensed clinician trained in Jungian analysis and Archetypal Psychology. (I’m still in practice as a Creative Process Mentor and Inner Life Coach).

Nice! My boyfriend (and writing partner š ) is from St. Louis! He moved here to Houston when he was seven. We were just there a few months ago to watch some Blues games š
And I have family in/around Vegas! Grandparents in Pahrump–that name always made me giggle as a kid haha. We also went to Vegas a year or two ago to watch some Golden Knights games and fulfill my lifelong dream of staying in the Luxor š

Hi, I’m Cassie Randall!
How many scripts have you written?
Two full length movie scripts, one for a high school course and one for my masterās degree (not at all proud of either of them lol), a bunch of sketch comedy pieces, short plays, and monologues. What do you hope to get out of the class?
How to write scripts that Iām actually proud of (!) and establish the work structure to continually improve with each future script. I want to learn how to pitch scripts effectively because, shallow as it sounds, I want to make money off of my scripts to supplement my public school teacher salary XD I also hope to make long-lasting connections and relationships with other writers as we grow, improve, and hopefully bust into the industryāif you havenāt already!Something unique, special, strange, or unusual about you?
I write, produce, and perform/participate in local sketch comedy shows, improv comedy shows (no writing there, though, lol), and a local film festival here in my very favorite city, Houston, Texas! š-
Hi Cassie, great to meet you! What school did you receive your master’s degree from? Was it in screenwriting? Looking forward to getting to know you!

I’m on two forums, so my apologies if you’ve seen this already! š
Module 2 Lesson 1: Cassieās Title, Concept, and Character StructureMy vision: I am a dynamic, respected, constantly learning and growing writer with an ever-growing and improving library of A-list quality, genre-diverse scripts that present genuine stories that audiences love to watch and that producers love to sell, and boy, do I make that MONEY, yāall!
What I learned from doing this assignment isā¦
I had a bunch of potential ideas I had listed out from the last assignmentāmore than three, gasp!āthat I held on to and let simmer. I ran my ideas again past a new audience for their reactions and feedback. I actually went with an idea Iād been holding onto in the back but hadnāt ātestedā very well with my audiences. As I worked through this assignment with each of my potential ideas, this idea grabbed the buddy movie character structure immediately. Two or three of my other concepts also stuck to structures quickly, but as I considered this one and wrote some notes, I could see the basic story structure and some supporting characters popped up and I ended up with a lot of strong, useful notes and it made me feel excited and optimistic. Also through the process of holding onto ideas and working multiples through these assignments to varying degrees of satisfaction, I was able to further refine my concept into something that I think describes more closely the script I currently have in mind.
I am holding onto the story of Friday the 13thās original intended story as a comforting reminder to stay open to the process. I have tended in the past to kind of fall blindly into sunk cost and not be open to adjustments or changes as I go, so Iām very excited to learn the process in this course!
Title: One Bed/One Bath and a Ghost āORā One Bed, One Bath, One Ghost
Concept: A recent divorcƩ with nowhere else to go rents a one-bedroom apartment already occupied by a cranky ghost with no desire for a roommate.
Good luck, everyone! š
