My name is Deni B Sher. I started studying with SU in 2015. Have written 8-10 scripts. Have one I co-wrote with Ferdinand under contract. Another 2 have been optioned. Started studying to turn my book into a script and plan to do so in this class. Something unique: I have traveled to 136 countries during 20 years married to my late husband, Arthur Sher. He literally gave me the world and will forever be the wind beneath my wings. I look forward to meeting more SU family in class.

Hello, everyone — I’m Chuck Czech and I’ve written four feature scripts along with about a dozen short scripts (one in production). From this class, I hope to develop a fifth feature script and acquire a method to keep myself productive. Me? I’m just an ordinary guy from middle America working hard to keep the world from succumbing to destruction and chaos.

I hope to learn a more effective way to write and finish scripts.

My mom died in November and I really miss her.

      Hi Suzanne

Congratulations on three scripts! I have no doubt that we’ll all be writing more effectively and finishing more scripts by the end of the 30 days.

Just wanted to give you a virtual hug. My Mom died when I was 20, which is 20 years ago now. I still miss her but I also realize the ways that she’s still with me, how she shaped me, and the impact she had on the world.

A couple of months ago I found out something new about her from her best friend. She used to drink herbal tea, and buy it in packs of different flavours, and separate out the bags. She’d put it into Tupperware and turned it into a lucky dip, so each cup of tea was an adventure. I laughed so hard because that’s just like her.

No doubt your Mom was amazing too, and no doubt you’ll realize all the ways she’s still with you.

      Another big hug!

My name is katie Jones. I have 12 half-written scripts. I hope to write a complete spectacular screenplay in this class. Unique thing about me is I can find things to laugh about and admire even when I am very upset. Another unique thing is cats and dogs are drawn to me.

I can paint and am an art teacher.

Hi, My name is Kim Reed. I am a playwright and poet. I wrote a dozen 10 minute plays (one produced in festival, others read in Chicago Dramatist workshops or showcases) and four full plays (two have been read by Chicago Dramatists). I was a frequent contributor to Tuesdays@9 Chicago Naked Angels, a play reading group. I attempted a screenplay for a tv movie about a young woman immigrant rescued from traffickers who run a storefront medical center by a community college teacher, but I never did anything with it. Plays can be made into screenplays, but that is not my goal today. I am going to attempt to write a screenplay from scratch in 30 days. I have competing concepts today and I have to make a decision about which one to commit to.

Hi! My name is Janis A. Pryor from the east coast! These days I am primarily a writer, artist, and activist. My fourth book will be released sometime this fall, titled, Mother’s Madness, a daughter’s report on race, class and lunacy.

I’m taking this course to help advance my understanding of screenwriting language versus action. It’s an odd medium that depends on words and visuals. It’s my hope to write the first draft of a script based on my first book, White Roses.

Looking forward to the challenge of “thirty days”…

Hello. I’m Tom. It is so nice to meet all of you. I live on the east coast of the US. I put my screenwriting ambitions on the backburner for quite awhile and hope to use this course to re-energize that.

    Hello

My name is Tasha. I hope everyone is well.

    I’ve written two scripts.

I really hope to learn the art of writing a messy, imperfect first draft.

Something unusual about me is that I have useless premonitions, mostly related to what’s on T.V.

Hello everyone! My name is Tom Trundle. I have yet to complete any scripts; although like many of you (I assume) have so many ideas bouncing around inside my head (including unfinished scripts), I’d love to just get them done and completed; and what better way to do that than a course that allows me to complete one of them (and subsequently other ones) in 30 days! <– which is also what I hope to get out of the class.

So… something that is unique/special about me.
Well, I’m a former Fear Factor, Champion, Medieval Times Knight, and Played Prince Charming at Walt Disney World!

Looking forward to working with you all too!

    Hi everyone!

I’m known as Joy Smith in real life, but usually no one can find me online without adding my maiden name.

I’ve written about six completed scripts, with about three in progress, but I’m going to try and use a completely new script for this class.

I hope to get a method of writing from this course that I can use to work with producers and help their ideas come to life (and also write my own scripts!). I’ve done the writing assignments class and would definitely recommend it.

I’m based in Yorkshire in the UK. I have tons of hobbies and interests outside writing, and recently baked my first ever Victoria Sponge cake for someone’s birthday – I kept saying to myself “Its not the Bake Off Final, it’s not the Bake Off Final!”

Looking forward to getting stuck in!

Hi, I’m Deborah Twiss, I’ve written a lot of indie features which have been produced and a series which is coming out soon (Crazytown) and have several projects I’m developing. I am here to finalize a script I’ve been working on called RELEASE. I think the most unique thing about me is that I have 11 dogs, 11 cats, a turtle and two kids. My husband passed away suddenly, young, two months ago. I am super lucky to have a best friend I was married to who was as into animal rescue as I was. Now he’s my writing buddy from the other side…yes, I do believe in those kind of things.

Deborah, I am sorry for the loss of your husband. My husband passed away almost 4 years ago, so I walk in your shoes and for sure he’s with me as I write and forever by my side.

I’ve written three scripts and started about two more.

I hope to become more disciplined about scriptwriting and learn some valuable information from Screenwriting U. I love writing and directing the work I write.

Something unique… not much for personal disclosure, I actually have difficulting writing about myself. Its easier for me to write in fiction and I’ll be threaded through that in some way.

HI everyone I am George Tedino I have written a few scripts more like drafts. What I want to get out of this is to be a better writer. My family and friends tell me I can tell a story, however the idea to paper part is a mess. So just to get better and maybe move from draft status writing to maybe sell one or maybe work with others to get one to sell. Unique about me lol um I am part time ghost hunter and i have seen and rated over 18000 movies yup crazy but I love movies.

Hello all! I’m excited for this journey. My name is Courtney Hill and I’ve written 1 and 1/2 scripts, ha. I hope to learn the skills to just spit out the first draft and not get hung up on any excuse to stop writing it. I’m one belt away from my body being a lethal weapon, haha. I’m just talking about Taekwondo.

Hello All, My name is Renee Johnson. I’ve written several scripts but none with legs. Been in many SU classes. Love you Hal and Cheryl. I’ve been hiding for a few years. I hope to collect my thoughts, my keen sense of humor and redo a favorite correctly.

I’ve been preoccupied and took this leap back into writing. I feel I recently got one of my lives back. Life is too much fun to miss.

Hello everyone, my name is Nataliya Popel. I am a co-writer of 3 scripts, two of which were produced, but only one made it to the big screen (only in my country). I would like to learn effective ways to work on my own and keep myself motivated. Strange something about me – I’ve never been in love.

    Hi Everyone!

    1. Kathryn (Kathy) Gerow

    2. One mothballed script.

    3. A script I wrote years ago (and would love to revise) competes with an unscripted story I wrote during the pandemic. We’ll see which one wins.

    4. Very little is unique about me, but that helps me empathize easily and appreciate other people’s perspectives. What I value about myself is my drive to __________ (fill in the blank!). : ) Actually, what I value about myself is my goal (not yet attained) to unravel enigmas. Oh, and I once might have met a ghost!

I’m grateful to be part of this talented group!
