Introduce Yourself To The Group
Posted by cheryl croasmun on July 12, 2021 at 6:41 pmHi everyone,
I’m glad you’ve joined us for the class.
To start the class out, please introduce yourself below. That will give you a chance to be part of this group and learn how the forums work.
Tell us the following:
1. Name?
2. How many scripts you’ve written?
3. What you hope to get out of the class?
4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you?
We look forward to working with you all!

Hi everyone,
I’m Heather. I’m professional writer of books, short stories, articles and just starting screenplays. I’ve written four so far. I’ve been involved in theater and film my whole life, as a historical costumer, dancer and actor. Writing just seemed like the next step.
I hope to be able to tackle rewrites with meaningful structure by the time I finish this course. I’m feeling like a boat lost in fog right now. Hopefully this will help the sun burn through!
Thanks Hal and Cheryl

Greetings to my fellow writers.
My name is Christopher Carlson. I’ve written some 20 screenplays, one produced; 1 one-hour television pilot for a limited series, unproduced; a teleplay developed for a German production company, unproduced but still under consideration at Netflix Europe; 2 teleplay rewrites, one produced; one fantasy novel for young readers, published; one award-winning full-length play.
I’m hoping to apply lessons learned from the class to an original screenplay I’ve been working on for five years, approx.
I created and taught a screenplay adaptation course for graduate students at Loyola Marymount University.

Hi everyone,
So glad to be here with you all. I’m Julia Bucci in Boston. she/hers
I’ve written 4 screenplays + 2 TV pilots (one is out to a few producers).
Every ScreenwritingU class I’ve taken has been a transformational journey. I’ve been wanting to take this course for a long time – and now the time is finally right. I’d like to learn the Profound model and apply it to a concept I’ve been wanting to work on for a while now.
I created a class for senior citizens called Life Writing, and I loved teaching it. The project I’ll be working with in this course, LIFE WRITING, is inspired by this experience.

Hi Everyone!
My name is Cindi Delinsky and I’ve written 6 screenplays and 1 TV pilot. I’ve taken numerous classes from SU over the last ten years, and then I stopped writing the last few years because of the constant stress and trauma involved in caring for my dad, who has Alzheimer’s. However, of all the different genres out there, my heart belongs to the Profound screenplay. I finally decided to sign up for the class because after the pandemic, I am craving creating things that are meaningful and profound. Something I find strange about myself is that right before COVID, I trained to become an End of Life doula, but during the training, I felt like I was drowning in emotions related to death. In retrospect, I think I may have been sensing the pandemic on the horizon. I’m looking forward to being in this class with all of you!

Michael L Harris (Indiana) He/His/Him
I’ve written about 12 shorts, rewritten 2 features, collaborated on a 3rd and am in the process of writing a 4th, but the purpose of this class is to help me with an adaption I am processing through which I plan to shoot next summer. I have produced all 12 of the short films I have written but this will be my first feature. It needs to be profound. Right now its “nice.”
From this class I hope to learn better techniques for identifying my stories weaknesses and the skills to build profoundly from the foundation that is there. I also hope to build collaborative relationships with my fellow class members in the hope that we can help each other attain new heights.
Something unique… I have red hair and my undergraduate is in theatre and social work. I have been working as a professional actor for xx (a bunch of) years

Hi, I am Julia. I wrote four scripts years ago but nothing recently. Nice to read all your posts.

Julia continued: I hope to merge the ability to write meaningful and commercial stories. Unique: I am a senior who teaches kickbox.

I’m Linda, I’ve written 7 screenplays and 2 stage plays and am having computer problems, so will post this now before it disappears rather than write something interesting.
-
My name is Egbert Rebeiro.
I have written six film scripts, one of them animation, and working on three additional.
Working on a script now that has a potential for a profound message.
I am a perpetual student, this is one of many classes I have taken.

Cara Rogers, signing in 2 weeks late due to travel but catching up.
I’ve only written one so far, but I’ve rewritten it about 8 times if that counts.
I hope to get one final rewrite so I can put this one to bed and move on, satisfied it’s ready.
Unique? I bet my friends could give you a list but I’m stumped.
