Posted by cheryl croasmun on February 26, 2024 at 9:36 pmHi everyone,
I’m glad you’ve joined us for the class.
To start the class out, please introduce yourself below. That will give you a chance to be part of this group and learn how the forums work.
Tell us the following:
1. Name?
2. How many scripts you’ve written?
3. What you hope to get out of the class?
4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you?
We look forward to working with you all!

My name is Joseph K. Really! Not joking.
I have written one complete script and have abandoned several in between, leaving them incomplete.
I want to write profound screenplays, and hope this Course will give me ideas on how to write such screenplays.
I am from Mumbai, India. I am a movie buff and also a voracious reader. I stay alone.

Hi, Everyone–
My name is Madeleine Vessel.
I have written four scripts and am working on a fifth.
During this class, I hope to learn more about crafting a transformational journey.
I fell in love with the idea of making movies when I was an extra on the movie, THE MISFITS, starring Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable, and Montgomery Clift.
Currently, I live in New Mexico, which is a movie friendly state.
I look forward to working with you all!

Written 2 scripts
Something different about me: I am an archetypal Pattern Analyst and scripts are all about archetypes. Also, I am a painter. Sometimes the two passions compete I end up with nothing finished.
Profound is a profound word and hope to get to its essence in script writing. Hal, you got your work cut out my friend.

Hi All,
Nice to meet you.
I have a background–what you might call a career, I suppose–in nonfiction writing. Never wanted it that way, but had to make a living after college. Majored in creative writing in school. It was interesting and thought-provoking, but I think the professors were literary critics more than writing instructors. They WERE good at criticism. Have to hand them that. (Don’t think the school has turned out even one successful fiction writer in 60 years.) Wrote one script some time ago. It failed, which I had a hard time understanding, since I had written 11,000+ movie reviews and thought I understood what made for a good film. I really didn’t. Have had several other opportunities and blown them. Can’t afford to fail this time, so am taking the course. Out of all Hal’s free online seminars, this one impressed me the most. So, looking forward to trying again.

Hi!
I’m Cherryl (pronounced /churl/ with a hard -ch).
Although I’ve written many stage plays and volumes of poetry, this is my first script which has been in progress, it seems, for years.
I hope to finally finish a respectable script.
I love the color blue, which is also my nickname. I enjoy designing food experiences for people I care about. I work as a content designer and narrative strategist.
