    Hi everyone,
I’m glad you’ve joined us for the class.
To start the class out, please introduce yourself below. That will give you a chance to be part of this group and learn how the forums work.
    Tell us the following:
    1. Name?
    2. How many scripts you’ve written?
    3. What you hope to get out of the class?
    4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you?
We look forward to working with you all!

Hello my name is Carly. I have written 3 features one of which I adapted into a pilot. I’m currently working on another feature and am always editing scripts for my dyslexic husband. I am really hoping this class will give some insight in how to take scripts to the next stage. I feel like I have exhausted all of the avenues I’m aware of –and also to gain confidence in the pitching process. Something unusual/awesome about me is that my son is a 3 year old hairless (sphynx) cat named Princess Kenny.

Hello everyone. I’ve written over 20 scripts for almost all genres: no porn (is that even scripted?), or horror/hack & slash); some were sold, and a few were produced, to no great acclaim. I want to change that. I LOVE learning new techniques and ways of looking at the work at hand. SU consistently provides that. The odd thing about me is that I enjoy editing scripts in hardcopy – on flights. It’s wonderfully isolating and generally has no interruptions. Wow. I don’t think I’ve told anyone that before! YES, the geezer going old-school a few rows away could be me. Hahahaha

    My name is Brian Bull.
I have written 7 or so scripts.
I took the WIM class and I need to work on getting it made/produced.
I collected chess sets and at one point I had over 150 different chess sets.

Hi everybody, I’m Gill (that’s Jill with a G). I’m working on my first and probably only script, or rather, series of scripts for a historical biographical limited series. something strange or unusual? It took hours to get access to the videos and forum, and I still haven’t received an assignment

Hi everyone. My name is Rachel. I’ve only written two feature-length scripts so far, but quality over quantity, right? LOL. I think I’m hoping for the same thing we all are… Sell that script!!! As for something special, strange, or unique about me, I think it’s special (and maybe a little unique) that my family and I like to study the Bible together and try to live by it’s standards (although some people find that strange, as well). Do I get extra credit for getting into all 3 categories? Ha, ha. I’m so excited to be a part of the class. Thanks so much! 🙂

I'm John. Hi everybody. I've written maybe a dozen or so scripts with another 4 or 5 in various stages of completion. Sold a couple (so I'm WGA) that never made it out of Development Hell. Others have placed in Big Break (Quarter-finalist, Top Ten) Austin Film Festival (Semi-finalist) and some Semi-finalist placements in other competitions I don't remember. I'm here because you can never sell too many scripts and with that much product sitting on the shelf, I'm obviously not doing something right. My right leg is an inch shorter than my left (which almost kept me out of the draft) but my right foot is a quarter inch longer than my left. (And you thought you had trouble buying a pair of shoes.)

Hi John, what a coincidence, my right leg is also an inch shorter than my left, but my left foot is a full size larger than my right. Shoes? Tell me about it!

My name is Paul Hallasy. I’ve written a screenplay called “All the Bands in the ’80s” and am trying to find a producer. I just started class yesterday (8/5).

Hi Everyone, sorry I’m a little late…technical difficulties.
I’m Barry Brock, from Florida. Yes, it’s hot and always storming.
I’ve written four scripts, with two of them fairly well polished enough to enter into contests.
I’ve actually had a couple of meetings with legitimate producers, but I realize that I need to find a way to get more of these meetings with the right folks. I hope that this course will help.
Not much unique about myself, other than having recently taking early retirement and found that I can now spend more time on writing, which I actually enjoy.
    Thanks for listening!

Hi Everyone. Happy to be doing yet another SU class. Yay. I'm Adite Banerjie from India. I have written multiple scripts, 3 romance novels which were traditionally published, 3 more that were self-published. One of my books recently got optioned by a production house in Mumbai. Many of my scripts need a thorough rewrite but usually I end up working on new projects. However I am taking this class so that I can polish at least 3-4 scripts and make them pitch-worthy. I'm hoping to make new connections with these pitches. My mantra is going to be: there is no such thing as rejection! 😁

    Hello Everybody,
    I’m Edward, from Sydney.
After a long career as an award winning copywriter, I became a screenwriter, focusing on comedy.
I have four finished scripts, one of which was a finalist at Austin.
I’m hoping these classes will help me see my scripts through a producer’s eyes, enabling me to craft my pitches for maximum impact.

    Tell us the following:
    1. Hi, All! I’m Susan Arnout Smith
    2. I’ve written four movies for TV that have all been produced and aired in the US and also in other countries. One was a finalist for a Pen-West. I’ve written several plays, some of which have won national awards and been produced. I’ve written a screenplay based on a true story to which I have the option agreement rights to market as a screenplay. It’s won the Grand Prize, International Faith in Film Screenwriting Award.
    3. My intentions are: 1. To get caught up with the class so I’m participating in real time. 2. To finish this class strong by doing each assignment full-out, 3. to get my screenplay optioned and on its way to being produced, 4. To use every scrap of what I learn as fuel going forward.
    4. I’m aggressively pursuing what I call “Radical Self-Care”. It involves Mind/Body/Spirit practices daily. I’ve had ocular proof that my practices are working: I just completed a workup by the Mayo Clinic that shows that my biological age is almost two decades younger than my chronological age, that my hearing is perfect (astounding the specialist who literally called in ‘incredible’, and ‘something he rarely sees in people half my age’, and have had a complete set of tests which state flatly I have a less than 1% chance of getting 50 different kinds of cancers. Knowing these things, I’ve shifted out of believing the lie I had told myself: that my ‘time had come and gone’ and shifted into a state of joy, enthusiasm, boundless energy and bravery.
I am looking forward to working with you all, supporting this group in our journey, and doing brilliant work that can light up the world.
