    4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you?

    1. Name – IRL, Meg Stout. As a Screenwriter, Tzu-Yun Chiu.
    2. How many scripts you’ve written – several.
    3. What you hope to get out of the class – I love using AI to accelerate the creative process and I want to stand on the shoulders of the giants who developed this course.
    4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you – On my mother's side I'm descended from English royalty and 7 passengers on the Mayflower. On my father's side I'm descended from Bei-jing scholars and Generals. But it was illegal for my parents to marry where they lived in 1962. Their sort of interracial marriage was still considered null and void in the state where I was born when I was born.

    1. DEMETHRESS DAVE
    2. How many scripts you’ve written? THREE AND ONE TV SCRIPT
    3. What you hope to get out of the class? Learn how to use AI to enhance my creativity and write scripts producers will keep asking me to write.
    4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you? In May, my 90 year old mother was diagnosed with cancer and I moved back home to take care of her and walk through the journey of chemo/radiation treatment. Truly, it changed my life. My mom raised me and may sister as a single mom, a nurse who moved from the operating room to the class room teaching nursing. She is a strong woman and to see her in this weak stage of her life, took me on a personal journey of finding my own strength and new-found compassion to remain focused and fight the frustration and confusion that wanted to overtake me. Mom is on the road to recovery and so am I.😍

    I have written 8 scripts.
I would like to write my 9th script by the end of this class and have it produced.
What’s strange about me is – I have been working in the movie industry for 35 years and I want to continue doing so.

    1. Name – Joy Geldard-Smith (IRL I'm just plain ol' Joy Smith – Geldard was my maiden name)
    2. How many scripts you’ve written? – That I'd own up to? 5 and a TV Pilot.
    3. What you hope to get out of the class? – My best movie ever, that gets me repped or produced, so I can move forward as a professional writer.
    4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you? – Wow, that's a lot to live up to! You're all amazing.

I did the ProSeries in 2014/2015, and got head-hunted for a corporate job that completely took over my life, but enabled me to pay off my mortgage. Yay! I took voluntary redundancy in late 2020 and have since run a handmade jewellers and a handmade soap brand. An arthritis diagnosis ended both of those, so now I'm focused on what has been my dream the entire time: becoming a professional writer.

Looking forward to writing incredible movies with you all!

    1. Name – Patti Wall

    2. How many scripts you’ve written? – 9

    3. What you hope to get out of the class? I'm ready to master these skills so that I can jump from an optioned writer to a produced writer.

    4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you? We are in the process of selling our house so we can move closer to where our kids go to college. Sometimes I have to stop what I'm doing to clean the house before a showing. So I email myself story and character ideas so I don’t forget them while I’m cleaning!

    Greetings!

    My name is Frankie.

I live on Cape Cod after spending years in LA.

Attempting to transition from Production Designer to Writer.

Have written five screenplays: one draft each because I have difficulty rewriting. : (

This is my 5th class with Hal: Looking forward to WIM W/AI because we actually complete four rewrites. : )

Looking forward to everything thrown at us. lol. And of course making friends here.

P.S> I am a retired Boston Firefighter. Slightly older than most of you by, I’m guessing, 30 0r 40 years. But very young at heart!

      Hi Frank,

Glad to have someone in my age range…I’m thinking you are in your 60’s or am I presuming too much? Forgive me if I am.😇
I’m a native NYer and have been with Hal and Cheryl for many years. I look forward to sharing and learning new skills and becoming a very successful writer. Here’s too nothing ventured, nothing gained and age ain’t nuthin’ but a number!

Thank you for your service, Frank.

      All the Best,
      Deme

          Hello again, Demme,

Hope all’s well and you’re pushing ahead with the lessons!

          May I ask you this?

We submitted our early assignments using GMAIL. Okay. Now that I’m onto Module 2 – Lessons 2, 3, 4 etc., instruction after each lesson is to submit our assignments to the “Forum” board. My problem and question is– how the hell am suppose to send my assignments to the forum for review when there is no forum available? lol

For real. Are you and others facing the same problem, or have you found away to the appropriate forum board? If so, please let me in on the secret.

          Best–
          frankieg

Hi Frank…LMAO YES, I am having the same problem. I put in a request to the customer service and still waiting for a reply. So until I get one I will just hold off on submitting and keep doing the lessons.

Question for you now… I am on Module 2 Lesson 11 but unsure if that is where we are supposed to be..The recordings are clearly done a while ago so no real participation there so I am a bit confused as to exactly where I should be in the lessons.
I asked that question of the customer service as well….
if you hear anything please let me know LOL and vise versa.

            Until then,
            take care and happy writing
Deme (Only one M please -hee hee)

    I’m Stuart.

I’ve written about a dozen scripts (features, TV pilots, shorts, advertising).

    Four hopes/goals:

    1. To expand my use of AI as a writing assistant that supports my creativity.
    2. To dispel perfectionism and self-criticism to unleash my creative writing.
    3. To speed-write the “best” screenplay yet and get it out in the market.
    4. To reclaim the joy of writing.

To learn HTML or have AI help with the HTML, so I don’t have to keep editing/re-editing these posts.

As a faculty member at San Diego State University, I’m leading a Living Land Acknowledgment for the Kumeyaay to install a series of sculptures created by a Kumeyaay artist with a QR code-activated immersive experience revealing Kumeyaay culture or history. This project transforms our university’s spoken land acknowledgment into a physical and virtual presence, a living acknowledgment. We installed the 3rd of six initial sculptures yesterday.

Hi guys, I’m Matt. Sorry for joining up so late. I sold my first script just as the class was starting and had to focus on the producer notes and rewrite for it. I’ve written a number of scripts and have decided on horror as my main genre. I hope to become a great horror writer through this class. Something unusual about me is I was a Philosophy major in college and am interested in pagan religions.

    My Name is David Mailman.
I’ve finished two scripts to my satisfaction. I have several others in various degrees of completion.
I enrolled in this course to finish a third script. I hope to gain mastery enough to sell scripts or at the least to write better.
I am 86 years old. I was a professor of physiology for 41 years. I consider movies the highest art form so after I retired, 20-years-ago, I spent five years making amateurish movies that were shown on local TV or sold on Amazon (A Life of the Sea; The Jim Manzollillo Story). After ten years of travelling, reading, and eating, I decided I had enough indolence, and started script writing.
