    4 scripts written

I hope to obtain a better understanding of how to write comedy and improve my screenplays.

I love all types of comedy and have written some material for stand-up comedy. Haven’t performed it yet, but I will let you know when I do.

Hi, I’m Mary Spiers. I’ve written 2 scripts. I haven’t written comedy yet, but I’d love to learn to write comedy. DK if I’ll write a comedy script but I’d like to know how to add comedic elements to my work.

In my younger days I was a bit of a prankster. Since I’ve given that up, I’ll reserve it for writing.

I’m currently writing a comedy feature script, so I hope from this class I’ll learn ways to fine tune the comedic scenes and build better laughs.

I was attacked by wild dogs in India.

Hi, Cooper James here. I’ve written lots of scripts. I hope to improve on building more comedic moments into my scripts. There’s a science to getting the big laughs and I need to get those scenes on the page. The action comedies, family comedies, romantic comedies, all of them.

Hello everyone, I’m Lindy Baker. I’ve been a writer all my life, however this is my first focused attempt at writing a screenplay. I’ve performed Standup Comedy for the last 6 years in California and Nevada. I’m hoping to learn any techniques that Hal might know that I am not already aware of. I read minds…so I’m single.

Hello everyone, my name is Daniel.

I have completed 4 scripts so far.

I would love to use this class to tap into my inner Danny DeVito.

Something interesting, I was left handed until I was about ten, but I wanted to be like the other kids, and not use special scissors, and switched and I have been right handed ever since.

To start the class out, please introduce yourself below. That will give you a chance to be part of this group and learn how the forums work.

    Tell us the following:

    1. Name? Joe Donato

    2. How many scripts you’ve written? By the end of the year it will be 5. Right now, 3 1/2. I have two fully completed, and 3 more that I’m rewriting and completing drafts of, with a goal of having all 5 rewritten and market-ready by Jan 1st.

    3. What you hope to get out of the class?

Since all of those scripts are comedic in nature, I thought it would be good to take this class as I rewrite to make sure I do full justice to giving them the most amount of funny I can cram into them.

    4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you?

There’s just so many things about me that make me unique, special, strange and unusual. Here’s one related to this class. Every since I got married 9 years ago, my wife has started a list of things I randomly say off the cuff that she finds hilarious. I never know when something I say is going to make the list.. and when I intentionally try to say something that I think should be on the list, it usually doesn’t make the cut. Then when we are hanging out with friends, they’ll ask “hey, what’s new on the list lately” and she’ll start reading it. I’m always stunned at what things are funny to some and not funny to others.

Also, if you want to see a self-contained movie I made with my wife, our dog and our cat, to kill time at the beginning of the pandemic, just google #whenfoodiesquarantine” or “when foodies quarantine” on youtube. If you think it was funny, please let me know.
