    Hi, Everyone!

My name is Nancy Lucas, I have written 2 scripts, both of them are still ‘works in progress’ that are under revision. Both of them are from Screenwriting U courses: The Contained Movie Script and the other from Writing the 30 day Screenplay.

What I hope to get out of the class is to better understand the industry.

<font face=”inherit”>I also hope to learn: (a) how to build relationships in this industry, (b) how to research and find the right </font>producers<font face=”inherit”> to pitch to, (c) What forums are the best to follow/join for more exposure to the screenwriting industry/process and to learn from others.</font>

<font face=”inherit”>As Hal had mentioned in the Friday Class ‘What it takes to Sell Your Script’, I would also like to learn the necessities for a script to sell- and all the other great information that was in that Friday Class!</font>

<font face=”inherit”>Following this class I plan to enroll in your Subtext Secrets course. I truly believe that the story isn’t about 2 people on the journey – it is about several people and I would love to learn how that story of them, along with the theme of the story, is woven effectively.</font>

<font face=”inherit”>Something unique about me: Ice cream </font>connoisseur. Seriously, if you were to cut me- I would bleed ice cream.

I look forward to this course! 🙂

    Hello Everyone,

I’m Susan Denaker. I’ve only written this one script but have lots of ideas for the next ones. I’m still rewriting it but it has come a long way from its first iteration. I desperately need to learn how to pitch without resorting to a book report. That really hit home in the introductory lecture. As for me, I’m an older classically trained theatre actress who finally moved back to the states from England and have realized that if I want to act in film I’m going to have to write it myself. And I’ve discovered that I love writing so much that I no longer care if I get to be in it or not. I’m really looking forward to all the wonderful things I will learn on this course and also looking forward to the collegial relationships that can blossom here.

    Hi Cheryl,

So excited to be a part of this. One quick question: I don’t see where the confidentiality agreement we are to sign is located. I’m a bit of a technotard so I hope I’m not missing something really obvious. Thanks, Susan Denaker 🙂

    Hi Everyone,

I’m John Stimson. I have written three screenplays but do not know how to market them or myself. It sounds like I’ve stumbled upon the right place, so I hope to learn some nice lessons about how the industry works. This seems like it will be quite an interesting course.

Hello, I’m Lindy Baker. I have 2 scripts in the works but none finished. I’m hoping for information that helps cement all I have been studying in the last couple years in a way that I can find other groups to give notes, and ways to connect with others in the industry. I’ve written in various capacities all my life, such as an advice column in Las Vegas’ Fun & Fit Life magazine for 10 years, and a Standup comedian for 6 years. I love movies and always wanted to write one. Now I want to also have it produced. I’m a Clairvoyant Life Coach and Emotion Code Practitioner for 40 years and have some high concept stories from my real life adventures with homicide departments and looking for missing children. I hope to meet some of you and stay current in this class as I sometimes get very busy with all this networking.

Hello Everyone, I’m Vaughn Tyree Jelks.

I’ve written 3 movie scripts and 1 television pilot.

What I hope to get out of the class is learning industry-current applicable ways to navigate my scripts and pitches to Hollywood producers with the power or connection to officially greenlight or buy.

Something unique, special, strange or unusual about me is that I’m a former child actor with early Hollywood experience. After high school I went to film school a couple years, but then I opted to go right to work behind-the-scenes as a production assistant then personal assistant on film & TV productions to learn real on-the-job experience on some great movies and shows (Dangerous Minds, Heat, Juwanna Man, The Time Machine, The Hughleys). I’m bit the Hollywood bug, have worked in many capacities in the business, and my true love is writing, so I know I can succeed I can get the knowledge and help navigating my way to the right power players.

I look forward to learning and working with you all!

    Greeting Classmates!

My name is Scott “TOM” Dennis and I’ve written quite a few produced childrens TV science show scripts, adult documentaries, and 2 as of yet unproduced features.

I hope to learn how best to find and market our main feature script to those who will actually produce it while I am still alive and kicking.

    I’m a long term <nobr style=”font-size: inherit”>cancer</nobr> survivor who has been on a 99% raw food <nobr style=”font-size: inherit”>vegetarian diet</nobr> for the majority of my life. I’m still here.

    Hello all,

I’m Lenore Bechtel, and I have written three feature comedy scripts and haven’t the faintest notion how to go about marketing them. That’s why I’m taking this class. An avid live theatre fan, I loved having thirteen of my plays produced by community theatre and one college, but I would have loved it more if I’d made some money. I moved from the area where my plays were produced and discovered that finding a new interested theatre isn’t easy. So I decided–why limit myself? Why not try writing screenplays? I’m counting on this class to show me how to get them produced. Something few people know about me is that I play two games of scrabble every day against artificial intelligence and have worked my way up to level 8 out of 10. Yay!

    Hi Everyone!

My name is Mary Emmick. I have written one screenplay and I started another a few years ago. I hope to learn more about the industry and make connections with other writers and power players.

I recently took Hal’s Rewrite class and learned a lot from it. The Friday classes are great!

An interesting and strange thing about me: I have a twin brother and when I was born they did not know there would be a second baby. My poor dad fainted!

I am looking forward to being in this class!

    Hello,

I am Laura Hyler. This is my fourth class with Script University. I have one script that I am hoping to get optioned. I would like to know how to best market my script and give me the best chance possible to get it produced.

    Hi to everyone!

Bob Bland here. I have written 6 scripts. Hope to get some tools that will help me more easily get scripts in front of the right decision-makers. Maybe unusual, can play sports both left and right-handed with an equal lack of dexterity. Cheers!

    Hi everyone.

My name is Rob Ingalls. I’ve written 7 features and one TV Series Pilot. I’ve taken many of Hal’s courses (Pro Series, MSC, TV Bootcamp, plus individual Action, Comedy, Profound, etc). The past couple of years I’ve been offline due to family member’s health but I’m back and taking this course to see what are the latest methods in getting my TV Pilot to the right producer.

Unique or strange? I’ve flown into the center of hurricanes and typhoons (42 to be exact) with the USAF.
