My name is Jack Young. I have written over 4 dozen screenplays in most of the genres (Also one book adaptation). I’m hoping that the classes will up the level of my writing for both screenplays and TV. I started late in the screenwriting business (started at 40 yrs old). I have my own film company (Young Films) that produced several films. A couple of the films are out at some of the streaming services (One had a limited theatrical release). I also had my own film school (Omaha Film School) for a couple of years where I taught film production and screenwriting. I also authored the books “How to Write Screenplay in 3 Days: The Marathon Method” and “Indie Filmmaker Producer’s Handbook: The Nuts and Bolts of Independent Film Production”. I have a manager in New York and at one time had an agent that got some of my screenplays into Dreamworks for a read (no deals though). I’m looking forward to the classes!

Hi, my name is Madeleine Vessel. I’ve written 4 screenplays.

By the end of this class, I hope to know how to design a brilliant binge worthy TV show, create a TV pitch bible, create a complex plot outline, write a complex plot outline, and successfully market my show.

Something unusual about me: I once had the privilege of spending a day tagging along with Clint Eastwood while he competed in a quick draw contest with his six gun. I was a little girl then. He was starring in RAWHIDE at the time. I found him to be a very generous man. Never forget it.

Can’t wait to get started. Looking forward to working with you all.

    Hi, I’m Cathryn Atkinson

I’ve written eight-ten scripts now, one was optioned. I’ve written and produced two shorts.

I am currently at the pitch level with one creative development producer in the UK on a historical thriller feature, with a producer in Jakarta on a murder mystery series series set in Indonesia, and I am a writer/co-creator for a children’s animation project with a producer-partner based in Miami.

I am also currently developing three other TV projects, and two features as spec scripts.

I hope to elevate my skills and establish my best work methods in a business-minded way.

Unique? Special? I’ve been a journalist in the UK and Canada for over 25 years, and I am trying to segue out of it. 🙂

    Hi, my name is Rafal,

I have written 6 scripts, two of them were produced and released in theatres. I also directed them. First one was a dark comedy, second a historical biopic. Both worked well, yet rather locally. I have also produced, directed or supervised hundreds of documentaries and shorts for TV.

I want to write faster, present my projects better, work more internationally.

Unique? Special? Strange? I have a scar on my cheek 🙂

    Hi Everyone!

I’ve written three scripts, a TV pilot, and have published several books for children. The scripts have placed or won national competitions. I want to learn more about story structure, creating intriguing characters, and writing a killer TV series.

Something interesting about me – my day job is writing very silly stuff for kids, with lots of alliteration and rhyme. I’m excited about what I can learn in this class!

Good to work with you all…

    David Quinn

I’ve written three scripts, one produced (Faust: Love of the Damned, Lions Gate, 2000) I’ve created properties for comics since 1987. (Faust is one of them and it was also optioned for animated television by SONY.) Before that, I also wrote for theater.

What do I hope to get out of the class? I find it always makes me more creative to get out of my daily routine and explore new techniques — I will take what I learn to my comics, my TV adaptations and my new TV projects.

What’s unique about me? For a couple of decades, I balanced creative work with corporate communications for global companies like Citi and JP Morgan. The pragmatic practice of getting paid to communicate for people who are not comfortable with communication taught me a lot about the power of story.

Hi everyone! My name is Eric Humble. I’m excited to be a part of this class. So far, I’ve written about six screenplays, with a few drafts in the works from some of the genre classes I took over the summer with screenwritingU. Television writing is an arena I haven’t attempted before, so I’m hoping to learn all I can from this course, especially when it comes to bibles and plotting out a serial show across a whole season. I’m a stay-at-home dad by day and my wife and I just welcomed our third boy into the world three weeks ago today. In addition to screenwriting, I’m trying my hand at drawing graphic novels. Can’t wait to go on this journey with you all!

    Hello All!

I’m Robin Atwood. I’ve written 2 scripts. I hope to learn more about preparing the “bible,” developing characters as well as how to write several story lines that intersect and also how to pitch and market my TV series. I’m a nonprofit executive and a former journalist – both make for great experiences enhancing storytelling.

Hi everyone, my name is Leybe,

    I’ve written one script.

I’m super happy to be a part of this class, already learning a lot and hoping by the end of it, I’ll have my show idea developed as a marketable BW show!

I speak 3 languages, started writing and directing plays at 10 yrs old, I’m also a painter and I’ve directed and produced several TV commercials and shorts.

I’m grateful for this class and for everyone here; wishing everybody an enjoyable, creative journey and endless success!

    Hi everyone,

I am very excited to be a part of this course. In the meantime I have written 2 scripts, one of them is a dramedy series that I have developed quite far and that is now with two big A-List production companies in Berlin and Munich. The Munich company has responded very positively to it. Until it goes further, I want to improve my skills even more.

I live in Germany and have worked for many years as a freelance writer for TV, internet, image films and TV shows.

What’s funny or strange about me? A lot of funny things happen to me every day, so I now believe that only screenwriting can be my real professional fulfillment.
