Greetings, Sky Canyon here, and delighted to be doing this class. I’ve written two scripts; I want to learn as much as possible in this class and especially pitching.
Unique or special: I’m also a professional musician, composer, producer. I also was a book publisher of self-help bestsellers in an earlier life.

Hi everyone. I’ve written around twenty scripts, originals, adaptations, assignments; had two optioned, one produced.
From this class I want to sharpen my marketing to the max to get some scripts to market under the best possible circumstances.
I’ a senior, senior citizen but I’m still loooking to the future. Most of my career I worked in TV and film and production, mostly director and director of photography on industrials, with work on some features, mostly assistant director; 2nd unit director; most credits never made it to IMDb, Then there was the biggest feature I worked on, Florida locations for Warner Bros The Right Stuff. No credit though, not a foot was shot in Florida. That’s show biz! One 2nd unit and a writing credit did make it to IMDb, And a TV pilot I directed under my full name, Rodney E.
Looking forward to this learning journey,, one of the most important of all of SU’s classes for the serious writer.
See you iin the forums.

Hi everyone. I’m retired and have written three screenplays and a play over the years, but until now, haven’t felt confident enough to proceed to the marketing phase. My goals… to sell at least one of the scripts I’ve written which leads me to additional writings assignments.
I worked in the financial field for years in Chicago and New York while taking acting classes, doing theater showcases, extra work on TV. Here in Salt Lake City, I worked on the Sundance Film Festival for 9 years, enjoyed more acting classes, worked as a location assistant on “Touched By An Angel” for several years, worked as assistant director and director-in-training on 10 shows at our semi-professional community theater. I’m also president of the Homeowners’ Association of my condominium complex, and sing with a choir which has performed at the Tabernacle, at Lincoln Center, and in Carnegie Hall.
I’m really looking forward to learning a lot in this class and interacting with fellow class members.

Ron Horton, from next to Canada in Vermont. I took too long a break from writing, 4 years, but I’m back! Since starting about 15 years ago I’ve written four scripts, with the 1st one placing in the quarter finals of a major contest, based on story alone from what they told me. I spent a lot of time willy nilly trying to get my scripts out there. Pitching was my best success, with one producer saying, “send me anything you write.”
I’d like to hone my ability and become laser focused on getting my material to the right people. I’m 73, so I don’t have time to waste.
Something unique? Last year I became “The World’s Oldest Rookie” when I planted my butt into a Legends Race Car and took my first competative lap. Nobody has ever started racing at age 72. I did this because my dad raced his car #165, when I was 1 year old. I now race my own #165 in his honor. I also named my car, Jazz Legend, as I’ve been a professional musician since 1966, although not a Legend. 🙂
It’s time to get this career back on track!-

Hello. My name is John Kline. I have written nine screenplays by myself and another five with my writing partner. I have written and directed one indie feature film which won awards at several film festivals. I am looking to get my scripts to any potential producers that might be interested in working together. I am also looking to find a manager and agent. Like I’m sure most of everyone here, I’m a huge cinephile. I grew up in the 80s where I watched an enormous amount of action, comedy and of course horror films. Looking forward to learning and growing from this class and can’t wait to hear from everyone else here.

Hi! I’m Tracy Lawson.
I’ve written ten books–four nonfiction and six novels, with another novel in progress.
I’ve written two scripts that have been produced, but they’ve both been local. One was for a dance outreach group about the Harlem Renaissance, and the other, a local ghost tour (yes, of course I brought in psychics for my research) that sold out both nights and generated a nice nest egg for the historical society.
I’ve taken three other Screenwriting U classes. I adapted books I’ve written for Bingeworthy TV and Writing Incredible Movies, and I hope to make solid connections to get my work in front of power players, because, like all of you, I have something to say and I want to share my stories with the largest possible audience.
My previous career was in dance and educational theater. I’m phasing out of that part of my life, but I’ve choreographed and helped stage 36 musicals for middle and high school students.
I started working at my daughter’s school when she was a sixth grader, and old enough to audition for her first musical. This is my last year. She’s grown and married, and a college professor. I’ve worked with hundreds of talented kids and seen many go on to careers in the performing arts. I’d really love to see one of my former students in a film I wrote someday.
Two years ago, we bought the second-oldest house in Wylie, Texas, and now I work part-time for the city’s Parks and Rec department, managing their Welcome Center and museum. It’s in a house just a few years newer than mine!

Good afternoon. My name is Steven A. Weber. I have completed one script, and I am currently writing and editing several others. I hope to learn how to sell or option the script I have completed, and to improve my writing and pitching in general. In addition to being a writer, I am also an actor, a singer, a martial artist, and a former defense attorney.

Hi everyone,
my name is Marian. I have written 8 scripts and some concepts, pitches, etc. In this course I would like to improve my pitching / aquise skills, especially to make the marketing of my projects more enjoyable and stress-free. I am a big movie fan and collect movies, also I like to play videogames and learn new skills. I am from Germany and write mostly in German language and translate it, so my English will not be perfect 😀
Great to meet you all, best

1. Lisa Molenda
2. I’ve written about 15 scripts. Nine are short films for students.
3. Having written a couple TV series now. One using the binge worthy class, I’m hoping to figure out the next step to getting the TV shows to the people who can help me get them produced since I have no clue.
4. Something unique special or strange: I have all three. Unique: I’m a flying trapeze artist. I love it. Special: I have a pet squirrel who I consider my child. Strange: I am really good at being spooky. I have played Boris Karloff’s Mummy, was the only woman to get cast playing The Wolfman, and have played a Walking Dead Walker , La Llorona, a culebra stripper (From Dusk Till Dawn), and a Martha Washington the Purger at Universal Studios in Hollywood.

Hi I’m Claudia Wolfkind (sorry for the late start)
I’ve written 3 TV shows, 2 Direct to Video (produced), 8 Features (2 optioned) and have produced hundred of hours of content, writing quite a bit of it for the channel I worked for.
I want to strengthen my marketing skills so I can market the heck out of my work.
I spent a few years as Head of Programming & Development of the Outdoor Channel, during that time I produced numerous series including The Gold Prospecting Show… I can tell you, there’s still gold out in thar hills, LOL

Hi, I’m Jeryl. Nice to meet everyone!
I have written 3 feature screenplays, 3 plays (1 produced at DC Capital Fringe Festival in 2015), 2 novels (1 published by Simon & Schuster in 2012) & 2 scripts for Web series (which I also directed). My series, The Elite 8, was an official selection at Web & film festivals around the world in 2019-20. I then wrote a pilot script for The Elite 8 as a 1/2 hour show. That script won Best TV Pilot Script at LA Under The Stars in 2022. I recently completed production of my new series, My 90s.
My goal for taking the class is to get one of my series developed into a 1/2 hour or 1 hour show.
My 90s is my third project exploring romantic relationships through the lens of time.

Hi!
I’m Brenda Noonan, and live near San Diego, CA. I’ve written 100s of scenes but have only completed two screenplays. I recommitted myself to writing this year, and am working on finishing my third screenplay. In this class I hope to get a better idea of how to market and pitch my screenplays to the right audience.
I love the crime/mystery genre. I had to say that first because the “something unique/strange” about me is that during a biology lab class at the University of Tennessee I was doing a tree species survey on a plot of land that was about 100 yards from Dr. William Bass’s body farm, the first of its kind in the US. (He studied decomposition of bodies to better understand time of death. What he learned, and what they are still learning at his body farm, is used to help solve murders.)
I’m looking forward to class!
Brenda

Hello,
I had a number of delays in October and I am starting the lessons today.
My name is Leah.
If written about ten scripts at a hobby/experiential level. These exercises have taught me that I have the stamina and commitment to get from the beginning to the end. More importantly as I study my amateur attempts, I can see gaps in my knowledge and skill of the craft.
Hoping this class will teach me how to deepen my knowledge of the action genre and my skill in creating visceral experiences for anyone who reads my scripts and watches movies created from my scripts.
Something unique about me is that I gave my friend a wall for Christmas. I didn’t think of it like that and neither did my friend as we were just thinking about how to convert the space under the stairs into a playroom for kids. But when I told my son, he pointed out, “So, you gave her a wall for Christmas.” Indeed, I did – 2x4s, sheetrock, mud, etc. Yep, I gave my friend a wall for Christmas!
Looking forward to catching up and getting to know all of you!
Leah
