Posted by cheryl croasmun on October 17, 2022 at 10:54 pmHi everyone,
I’m glad you’ve joined us for the class.
To start the class out, please introduce yourself below. That will give you a chance to be part of this group and learn how the forums work.
Tell us the following:
1. Name?
2. How many scripts you’ve written?
3. What you hope to get out of the class?
4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you?
We look forward to working with you all!

1. Name? Andre Lionel Howard-Mitchell
2. How many scripts you’ve written? 10?
3. What you hope to get out of the class? 5-10 well outlined contained scripts.
4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you? I am not so unique. I focus on my passion and purpose, life is only so long, and full life is not guaranteed.
I have a spinal cord injury from a car accident. Screenwriting is probably the best “job” for someone like myself, with physical issues.

1. Name? Marian Smith
2. How many scripts you’ve written? Probably around 10 screenplays total, when I was younger. More recently, I’ve written plays.
3. What you hope to get out of the class? I would like to complete a draft of a contained screenplay (I need the accountability of a class!) I would also like to learn how to make contained screenplays as visually interesting as possible, plus gain some practice in elevating the stakes/conflict for the characters with unity of time/space.
4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you? I play the viola, the same instrument I’ve owned since I was 14!

1. Name? Larry
2. How many scripts you’ve written? zero, but one in progress
3. What you hope to get out of the class?
4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you? I’m about as average as they come so cannot lay claim to anything unique, special, strange or unusual.

Hi! I’m Vernice Klier and I have written several scripts but they are mostly expensive to produce–I want to write something for which an actor and I can more easily find a producer.
I hope to get at least one contained script written that can be produced in the spring. I’m not so unusual–just fascinated by the wonderment of life.

Hi!
My name is Jennifer Arthur, to date I have written 3.5 screenplays. I hope to learn how to make a great contained movie, while also learning about creating an incredible outline. My family is primarily female, three generations of mostly women, many of whom are highly gifted in the art, design, and all things visual and performing arts.
Great to meet you all!
Jennifer

Hello, Everyone.
My name is Behee.
Even though I have always wanted to write a screenplay, I have never done it. So, I decided to do it this time for real.
What I hope to get out of this class is I want to learn the process of writing a screenplay.
An unique thing about me is English language is my second language but I am speaking for 20 years so maybe that’s good enough.
Looking forward to the experience : )
Thank you!

3. Actually I’ve requested to support several times to cancel my enrollment in this class with a refund, before the 1st assignment; but if I’m stuck here, as always just hoping to think outside the box.

Hi!
There seem to be two introduction posts. So here I go again:
My name is Marian. I have written 8 scripts and some concepts, pitches, etc.
In this course, I hope to develop a great pitch for a contained movie I can add to my portfolio. I have just finished the Rewriting Class, so I start the course when I am done with the rewrite and may be a little behind in posting my stuff here…
I am a big movie fan and collect movies, also I like to play video games and learn new skills. I am from Germany and write mostly in German language and translate it, so my English will not be perfect 😀
Great to meet you all, best
Marian

1. Hi Everyone, My name is Mary Spiers
2. How many scripts you’ve written? I’ve written 2 scripts
3. What you hope to get out of the class? My first two scripts are bigger budget and I’m looking forward to outlining and writing a contained script that has a good chance of getting produced. I’ve taken several other classes and feel that the insights, the structure and the accountability are all very helpful. Looking forward to this class
4. Something unique, special, strange or unusual about you?
I’m a clinical psychologist, neuropsychologist and college professor. I came to screenwriting as those professions were well underway. I’ve adapted one of my screenplays into a novel which I am hoping to publish but I love the screenwriting form.

1. Hi Everyone, my name is Connie Hood
2. I’m writing my first script. It is a new genre for me. I’m an established author in other areas.
3. I want to get an awareness of how my story should look in a script, and things that will make it easier to get produced.
4. A unique thing to me – this story – As a single mom, I bulldozed a canyon and dragged a huge house uphill, in two pieces. Spent the rest of my life reassembling it.
5. I hope this class helps me get a cleaner first draft of the story to the producer who is partnering on it.
So happy to have finally found the LOGON! Yikes.
