David Wickenden Intriguing Concept and World
What I have learned?
I like the idea that earlier work will be used for the bible and the pitch. Having done neither, but have completed the earlier coursework, including the BW Framework, I know I can do this.
1. Present your concept.
· A haunted Child Crimes RCMP officer hunting child abusers
· …tasked to hunt a vigilante targeting pedos…
· …tries to stay true to the law…
· …tempted when killer is her best friend.
2. Intriguing World
From BW Framework
A. The hidden world of child exploitation…
B. …through the experience of a PTSD psychiatrist turned vigilante …
C. …as she hunt abusers and saves children.
· Unique sub-world: International exploitation of children.
· Previously unexplored: status, power, and depravity.
· The unknown: How the traffickers/exploiters will react.
· The unseen: Police investigation, criminal organizations and politicians.
· Unheard of Dangers: traffickers willing to kill any who threaten their trade.
· Reason to explore it: massive amounts of money second to drugs.
My show’s world: The international trade of children is worth billions, with little risk from authorities overwhelmed, corrupt, or hindered by politics or borders.

David Thompson, Concept/World
What I learned doing this assignment is how to distill a complex series and world into some sound-bites that can hook a producer.
Angels of Vengeance
1 The Concept:
A: Dan investigating the brutal murders of his god-daughter/niece,
B: and then uncovers a trio of goddesses who seek vengeance for unsolved murders,
C: Thus making Dan face his beliefs that gods do not exist,
D: Which drops Dan into the world of ancient mythology among us mortals.
2: The World
- The world of the Furies is one where the ancient gods still live among us.
- Immortal beings, who travel without notice, even the friendly undertaker who’s actually Thanatos, death himself.
- A Fury can “cloak” herself and not be seen by outsiders… except Dan!
- A Fury can travel anywhere and ANY when in the blink of an eye.
- In the Underworld are dangerous demons and one has escaped, possessing the serial killer who murdered Dan’s god-daughter/niece.

So she marries a man of God, gets ordained,
And eventually discovers God exists only in our brains.

Syd’s Intriguing Concept and World
What I learned doing this assignment is that this story has many angles to pitch — I must find the most important.
Present your Concept. <div>
A. Charita, a low-born, yet mysteriously educated young woman, goes on the run when her step-father, the king, is assassinated
B. … she decides to choose her own path, including whom she’ll love (in a time and place that doesn’t permit women to do that)…
C. …by becoming a Mughal spy disguised as tawaif (a courtesan) to fight the usurper…
D. …and grows from powerless, naive upstart to a influential spy master able to wield justice for others.
2. Tell us the World of this show.
Unique sub-world: The Mughal Empire, circa 1565, the wealthy center of global trade and a collection of diverse principalities; </div>
<b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>Previously unexplored: A female spy within the Mughal court which features specialized female artists / courtesans known as tawaif (analogous to Japanese geisha).
<b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>The unknown: In a time when women are viewed as objects, entertainment or slaves, how will a female spy navigate the intrigue of Mughal court, Portuguese and Chinese cultures, cut-throat international trade and the various Principalities within the Mughal Empire.
<b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>The unseen: Every side has a hidden agenda — political, industrial and territorial — for which they’re willing to kill, including her employer.
<b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>Unheard of dangers: How can she survive, and more so, gain leverage without one party deciding she’s expendable? Will she be expected to seduce? To kill?
<b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>Reason to explore it: It’s a path for a low-born woman to gain wealth and choice.
