Alyssa’s First Scene
One Sentence Vision: To be the best writer I can be and a go-to writer in the industry, crafting scripts that become successful movies and make a lasting impact on people.
What I learned from this assignment is…how to stay on track and focused, just taking the outline and transferring it over to fill in the blanks. Trying not to wordsmith.
How the process went: I already had my first scene written to get the creative juices flowing, and it was pretty quick and easy, so I am looking forward to seeing how fast the next scenes go when I don’t have anything except the outline. It’s easy for me to get stuck on word smithing so I’m going to do my best to keep moving. Looking forward to the whole process!

WIM Module 5, Lesson 1
Lenore Bechtel’s take on writing Scene 1 First Draft
My vision: I want to create enough salable screenplays that an agent will want to market my work and recommend me for writing assignments.
What I learned from doing this assignment is that I have never been a fast first draft writer and that I need to learn that skill. It’s going to be difficult for me to leave a misspelled word or a number I know isn’t right. I wrote a 3-page Scene 1 in one hour and twenty minutes. I already have the urge to go back and change some things, but I followed my outline exactly, so I will wait until second draft to make the needed changes. This scene wouldn’t have taken me this long except my Final Draft software was double spacing after a parenthetical and was not going automatically to dialogue after a name. So I’ll try to get the kinks out of the software before writing any more scenes.
My Title: Berlin Rendezvous?

Veronica Turowski’s First Scene
What I learned from doing this assignment is having an outline to follow makes it easier to write the dialogue in the script.
My Vision: I want to be a successful writer who writes several scripts yearly and then sells them to producers who create my vision for the big screen.
How this Process Worked for Me: I like working from a completed outline because it easier to fill in dialogue since I don’t have to worry if the scene is going to work. I know my story flows and there aren’t any plot holes. I am aware of two weak areas that I can figure out as I go along.

WIM Module 5 – 2023
Lesson 1: Basic Formatting, Description and Dialogue
My Vision: I am going to be a professional screenwriter
What I learned from doing this assignment is…
Well after listening to Hal’s one hour lesson, I learned to be okay with not being perfect on this first draft and just write what comes to mind sticking to the first scene’s outline.

Margaret’s first Scene
Vision: To be the best faith-based screenwriter.
What I learned from the process: It felt good to be writing scenes! Having done the outline previously and knowing where I’m headed made it so much easier to speedwrite this!

Marguerite Langstaff: THE BILLIONAIRE IN 501
(WIM) Lesson 1: Basic Formatting, Description and Dialogue
Vision: What I learned from doing this assignment was that I have to learn Final Draft 12.
State: I am excited to write this first draft.
This process was slower for me than it should have been because I have to learn Final Draft and how to master the computer more completely, but once I made myself get started there is finally a good feeling of satisfaction to know that I’m underway and am committed to writing the first draft. Might even change the title of the script to WATCH OUT WORLD! (smile)

How this process worked for me: Slowly!
It’s been a while since I’ve written something new, so I felt rusty. The first half of my 1st scene was relatively quick. Then I stopped and got in my own way. I know I’m capable of putting in placeholders and “funny line here” and move on but I kept rereading, tweaking and word smithing!
I’m happy with what I wrote but I know that I have to keep it moving at a snappier pace moving forward…

Lloyd’s First Scene
One Sentence Vision: Working hard to become the best writer I can be and as a result I do become the best writer in Hollywood.
What I learned from this assignment is…. Trying not to wordsmith. I want to soooo badly!
I have already finished my first scene and I am halfway through completing my first act. No wordsmithing. I am vowing not to do it. Keep moving forward to get the scenes on paper first!

Melissa Barreca’s First Scene
My vision: Melissa Barreca is one of the most sought after writers in the movie industry because of the artistry of her writing, professionalism and exceptional ability to tell important, entertaining, joyful, and heartbreaking stories that inspire audiences and become legendary classics.
What I learned from doing this assignment is…I really do love writing. It felt great to get back to the actual writing of the script after weeks of work on the story, characters and outline.
Tell us how the process went for you. — It was smooth and fun. The writing software is a big help in formatting so I can focus on the content. I had a strong vision of this first scene, so getting it down on paper was not a challenge.

Adrienne Watkins First Scene Module 5 Lesson 1
My Vision: I am going to work as hard as I reasonably am able to succeed at script writing to be recognized by multiple movie producers as a skilled script writer, and to have my scripts produced worldwide.
What I have Learned from this assignment make the scene live. Keep the scenes simple and don’t overthink.
The writing process went better than I expected. The formula given lesson 1 was not as difficult that I thought it would be.

bent’s first scene !!!
my vision for this is to become a television writer and sell my features on the side.
what I learned doing this assignment was this. …… i have a first scene completed and i did it. and i can do it again.
the process was helpful because i had my guidance and was within a frame. staying within the frame keeps me from being discouraged and losing my attention. this is successful.
thank you
