Christi’s Marketing Campaign
What I’ve learned doing this assignment is I need to elevate the quality of my existing screenplays that are in the 1-5 Million budget mark before I can seriously approach a Producer or Manager.
1. There are many campaign ideas that are there so I’ll take the Linkedin one, something I’m already doing. Getting Actors freed from the mortifying AI scanning is very important to me. What if you were told you didn’t have a choice about having a body scan and then randomly showing up naked in a film you didn’t consent to? So what if they pay you for it?!? So, yeah. That’s my fight. Probably a stupid one but I feel like any fight that’s worth it is worth showing up for.
2. I will commit to regularly checking Linkedin for Producers that post. I will query them politely to see their stance on AI. When it’s not what I’m looking for, I will politely thank them and move on.
3. Same as above. I’ve already commented on a few posts and have interest but no bites yet. The year is young!

ROBERT R. SMITH’s MARKETING CAMPAIGN
WHAT I LEARNED FROM THIS LESSON
I learned that anything that advances exposure of the script is a Campaign Strategy and good to do.
1. The ONE Marketing Campaign I select and will take action on.
My stage play gangster-comedy “Angels in Gangland” I am promoting for stage productions and my screenplay adaptation I will promote through the methods taught in the course.
2. The plan
I want to see Angels in Gangland produced on both the stage and screen and I am arranging for play readings now with industry professionals invited. So I have two tools, stage and screen in my toolbox. Doing readings will also build a fan-base for the project. I am doing this now which is part of Campaign #4, Strategy #27.
Secondarily, I am in discussion with a local film maker of producing a promotional trailer of the screenplay adaptation to shop around in addition to all the other methods of getting a producer.
3. First action to take:
1. Finish the screenplay adaptation and write a treatment and
2. Continue booking showcase readings of the stage play and when it is finished the screenplay with invitations to industry professionals of both theater and film.

Jane Alcala: Marketing Campaign
What I learned from this assignment: At this point in the class, I’ve found that the lessons did help me come up with new ideas to rewrite script to make it more marketable. I’ve had interest in producing script by one producer, so I’m hoping that if I can write an even better draft, I could get interest from other producers. For me to feel confident in screenplay, I know my first priority is to improve my latest draft and get it to match my pitch. Now that I have a query letter, I plan to query more producers in February.
1. Read through the 10 Marketing Campaigns and select ONE that you’ll take action on immediately.
First marketing campaign: Seek producers
Rewrite script, while building a list of producers to send script to.
Taking that campaign, make a plan of action, listing the actions you’ll take:
Stategy 15: Taget Small and Indie Producers
1 Watch movies in my genre that have been recommended to me to get more ideas/be more up-to-date in my genre
2 Write another draft of script in Dec-Jan.
3 Seek updated professional coverage on script and enter in contests
4 Send queries to 50 producers I’ve identified in February 2024
5 Continue to network with my industry contacts
6 Write outline for new script
