Module 5 – Lesson 13 Continue Act 4. 6-10 Pages
Lisa Long Continues Act 4
My Vision: I will do whatever it takes to be comfortable saying that I am a writer by creating impactful stories with amazing characters in order to sell my scripts.
What I learned from this assignment is keeping the story on track when you want to change it up at this point takes a lot of restraint.

Lynn’s Continues Act 4
VISION: I am determined to become a great screenwriter capable of getting my screenplays in various genres produced into movies that inspire vast audiences to mitigate climate change.
Not sure if it is “allowed,” but there are 2 passage-of-time parts in my script in which the lovers are in the “together mode,” so I filled these in a bit with things not in the outline. I did this by having 2 SERIES OF SHOTS (one between Halloween and the dramatic/harrowing Thanksgiving, and the other between Thanksgiving and the dramatic/harrowing Dec 6th and on). These shots don’t go “off-story-line” or even move the plot forward much, but I think spice it up, like the Marriage Barn done up for Dia de los Muertos with the couple MOS discussing wedding plans.
It’s just that as I was writing I knew these time passages had to be filled in a tad. During time passages when they are in the “split up” mode, I just have a scene or two with them plugging along unhappy.
-
In the outline I did mention “Series of Shots,” giving vague ideas of what they could cover, but in the writing process I came up with what they cover. Only in writing the script, I realized what was needed, which I hadn’t realized when doing the outline.

Subject: Monica Continues Act 4
Vision: I will continue to learn everything I can through all different media to apply what I learn to become the best screenwriter I can be. To be successful in getting my movies made and to win awards in the process.
What I learned from doing this assignment is to keep moving forward writing as fast as I can without going to do any revisions.
How it’s going: Found several scenes that could be combined. Combined them. Finished Act 4! 91 pages. It’s shit. But it’s finished.

Ron’s Continues Act 4
VISION: I want the success and recognition of being an in demand, A-list screenwriter who writes successful films that are financially profitable, award winning and of enduring quality.
Well, actually did it. Worked through all the problems and questions and finished the first draft of the script. Now the hard work begins in revising.
-
Renee’s Continue Act 4
My Vision: I will work hard to become a well-respected writer who gets my movies produced and has enough work to keep me busy and keep the lights on.
What I learned doing this assignment is to keep myself empowered and not allow myself to stall out while writing the first draft. Just get the story down and fix issues as you rewrite.
How’s it going: This is going to be a really short script, but it should get longer as I work through the second draft and add the scenes I made note were needed as I completed the first draft. The script needs a lot of work, but I’m happy with how it has turned out so far.

Marcus Contiues Act 4
My Vision: Get a script made into a movie.
Speed writing the script is getting the job done.
-
Joel Stern WIM Module 5 Lesson 13
My Vision: To write eight Hollywood blockbuster screenplays and to get a speaking line in at least one.
What I learned from this assignment: Same — to speed write and not hesitate when doing so. It’s a challenge for sure but it works.
I fell behind because I worked 9 of the last ten days but I’m continuing Act 4.

MODULE FIVE LESSON TWELVE
FRAN’S STARTED ACT 4
WHAT I LEARNED: I found out writing for assignment eleven, that something came out that easily set up another scene I could write for this lesson. I’m still unsure about this story, but I’m going with the flow for now. As I learned in the mastery session. It will come to me sooner or later. Just hand it over to my inner brain.
MY VISION: I want to write great movies. Movies that are magical, movies that move people and tell the truth. I want to write movies that stars will want to be in.
I wrote two pages for the Winter script. But I kept thinking about my other script. I have a big scene to write. I have to work on that one again for a short while.
A few hours later. I’ve written the set up and a few dialogue lines for that big scene for my steamboat race script. It was a bit of work, but tomorrow when I’m fresher I’ll be able to put it together better. I was able to get about eight pages of that done and I’m feeling pretty about that one.
Hopefully, tomorrow I’ll be able to write more on Winter as well. But first, what’s coming out of me takes precedent and I nee to get that down on paper for better or for worse.

Vic Valleau Lessons 13,14
<font face=”inherit”>I’m on Page 91, and am already thinking of big ideas, big revisions, additions for rewriting. I’m very happy at a few </font>breakthrough<font face=”inherit”> ideas, pointing the direction for rewriting. Need to clarify plot flow and theme and subplots. </font>

MODULE FIVE LESSON THIRTEEN
FRAN’S CONTINUING ACT FOUR
WHAT I LEARNED: Just keep going. Don’t give up. Not just yet.
MY VISION: I want to write great movies. Movies that are magical, movies that move people and tell the truth. I want to write movies that stars will want to be in.
Today, this morning, I wrote ten and a half pages on my Winter script. It’s crappy. But it’s on paper. The ideas are starting to come now, what different I can do with it. This is also happening with another script I started for another class and haven’t been able to finish. Ideas are coming for that one, too, how to fix it and make it a whole lot better.
Now, I just need to find the time to write. I’m going to take the suggestion and write 5 minutes here, 5 minutes there. On the cuff. See where it takes me. Today, I have enough time to write on Winter and work on the gauntlet scene for my Steamboat script. I was able to get it all outlined yesterday! Today, I’m to get it pieced together and start my writing of the scene!

Module 5, Lesson 13 – Continue Act 4
Subject: Rob Ingalls Continues Act 4
MY VISION:
To be a Talented writer that delivers quality fast, with the film industry seeking me out.
WIL: To recognize procrastination. To tell my critiquing self to stop talking but that I will accept his talking in a later draft but not this one. To force myself in short bursts to write, then relax, begin to feel guilty procrastinating, then jump back in for more short bursts.
-
WIM2 – Dana Continues Act 4
My Vision: I intend to perfect my skills to become a successful screenwriter, scripting acclaimed and profitable films, recognized by my peers, and living an adventurous life.
What I learned during this assignment:
I am continuing to add scenes to my script as we complete Act 4. I hope to have something near completion by the time I finish module 5.
-
<div>Joe continues Act 4.
</div><div>My vision is to persevere and stay the course of building steady daily routine, and disciplines that produce consistent writing of exceptional quality. Ultimately, the fruit of those habits and disciplines will be a track record of great marketable scripts that will make other successful talented pros seek me out.
Yeah, this one is all about discipline. I have such a hard time writing generic stuff. I’ve already skipped a scene with a placeholder and continued past that part, like Hal suggested, and I’m taking a break after every scene. But I vowed that I will finish this script by the end of the weekend (even though last week my goal was to finish up by the end of the week, before this weekend. The new angel on one shoulder is a tiger mom and on the other shoulder the slacker demon. I think they will switch roles once I complete Act 4.

Dave Holloway continues Act 4
My vision: I would like to be a successful writer in Hollywood, with a number of successful movies to my credit that put forward a core belief about environmental, political, or personal values.
What I learned is that the more I use the technique of speed writing, without caring too much about quality, the easier it becomes too do.
-
Erin Ziccarelli Continues Act 4
Vision: I am going to create profound scripts that leave audiences remembering my movies and leave me excited to keep writing and moving up in the industry.
<b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>What I learned from doing this assignment is: I am now finished with my fourth act, which is Sequence G of my script. All I have left is Sequence H, and then I will be finished! Finishing up this part of the fourth act brought my protagonist and antagonist together, which is the most exciting part of the script for me. I’m looking forward to writing the resolution tomorrow.
