    ACT 3:

BEAT SHEET: ACT 3 MAKES A NEW PLAN:

    SLUG: INT–HOME, VIERA, FLORIDA–DAY

Mark taps his retirement savings plans to generate revenue to sustain himself and cover the mortgage and utility bills, in addition to bartering personal property, short selling the house and dumbing down the resume to increase employment opportunities as a strategy to avoid failure.

Mark cashes in his US Government and Military savings plans to pay off as much debt and to carry him, until he secures employment.

MIDDLE: After sending out approximately 200 applications over the course of six months with no results, Mark tries a different approach on his resume by dumbing it down to appeal to employment opportunities one would find at Burger King, Walmart and Winn Dixie.

END: Mark attempts to put his house on the market for a short sale in an attempt to prevent his credit from being destroyed.

    LESSON 18:

DR. AMADOR’S Act 3 Middle Scenes:

***What I learned from this assignment is that I’m getting a good grasp of turning points, and even though I don’t have all the answers, this “outlined” beat sheet will help me flow once i officially start my first “run-through” draft.

(KEY SCENE 2: MAKES A NEW PLAN):

BEGINNING: The president is down in the polls, General Portman gets inside information that this ‘discovery’ if shared with the DOE will boost his numbers and help him with his re-election.

MIDDLE: General Portman and Robert fly to DC., they meet with the president. He hesitates at first and they back and forth: Why should he give them a second chance? Robert proves that there was foul play from Rosinski; he wanted the mission to fail so it could go into private funding. The President asks him what are the chances of it from happening again?

END: Robert insists he has his own loyal team in place outside of rosinski’s hands and can relaunch the mission, but they need to override other organizations , both public and private in getting exclusive time-priority for this ‘re-alighnment” project. The President escalates this mission to top priority. Rosinski is blocked from proceeding any further.

    [things go well until ]:

INT. SILICON VALLEY SPACE CORPS. – DAY

BEGINNING: ROSINSKI PRESENTS dilemma to his “bosses”; he tells him he’s been pushed aside by robert’s shenanigans with the annoying general and the President.

Middle: All is going well, they’re[robert and co.] about to launch their global collaborative effort until a a major funder of the president tells the president to change course or else! [the president and private funder go back and forth. we don’t know outcome until]:

[place holder: here we can see more science and global intercuts of telescopes around the world; robert stays the course: we must aim satellite beam at the center of our milky way galaxy: at the deepest black hole in our galaxy—while we have this window literally , technologically and astronomically).

END: right as they are about to start their satellite adjustment, military facilities enter new mexico university to block Robert.

    ASSIGNMENT #18

What I learned doing this assignment is to get it on the page. For the first time I put (insert son’s name here) or (insert cool job here) and just kept going with the dialogue knowing I can fill in on a later pass.

    1. Outline Key Scenes 2 & 3.

Key Scene #2: New Plan: Beginning: Harriet suggests Carla to use her to help get unstuck

Middle: Use you how? Just fall into being me for a bit since Mark has trashed your heart and you can’t see straight and you can’t stay as you are or you’ll wind up living in a cardboard box.

End: Okay. Trust fall and Carla allows Harriet to drive the bus on ALL her life decisions.

Key Scene #3:( Things start going well until…)(aka Transformational event E)

Beginning: Carla is volunteering at the school book fair and talking to other moms who turn out to be cool

Middle: Successfully networking and having fun getting ideas for building out her portfolio

End: “Send me your stuff when it’s ready. No rush these things always take a while,”

    2. Write Key Scene 2: Makes a new plan.

    Done.

    3. Write Key Scene 3: Things go well, until…

    Done.

    Lesson 18 Trish’s Act 2B Middle Scenes

    1. Outline Key Scenes 2 & 3.

    Did this in Lesson 17.

    2. Write Key Scene 2: Makes a new plan.

    Done.

    3. Write Key Scene 3: Things go well, until…

    Done.
