Module 2 Lesson 2 Compelling Character Descriptions

What I learned was more about the inter-relationship between my characters — as I really dug in to summarize them each individually, it helped me to see the World from all their different perspectives, and see more details as to how conflicts would arise amongst the main characters.

DELPHINE:

My version:

Humanity is under threat from a sinister geneticist, Dr. Eugene Jacobs, who seeks to turn people into monkey slaves. Delphine and Jeriko hold the keys to reverse Jacobs’ evil prophecy. Torn between exposing her mother’s corruption and honoring her debt to Jeriko and The Sisters, Delphine’s undergoes a major identity crisis as she learns why the strange events of her childhood were all preparing her for this challenge.

My version:

When an evil sorcerer turns humans into monkeys, Jeriko, a famous hip-hop artist who vanished for 30 years, is forced to resurface from his current hiding place: Inner Earth.

Torn between his need for invisibility and Delphine’s need for him to pull his weight, Jeriko struggles to hide his love for Delphine, while navigating a dramatically different world than the one he escaped from, so many decades ago. Jeriko struggles to face the demons of his past, even as he must encourage Delphine to face hers.

Traveling between the realms, they juggle keeping up appearances to fool their brother, while actively setting traps for him on Surface Earth. The last thing they need is for Delphine or Jeriko to swerve off course…
