David Wickenden Finished Act 1 First Draft
HSWR – I did a full vomit without stopping. I found my outline was all I needed to nail the writing down. Act 1 was done in 2 hours.
What Did I learn doing this assignment?
The work going into the outline was key to nailing down the writing for me. I have never done an outline before, but will definitely doing in the future.

David Thompson’s Finished Act 1 First Draft
What did I learn? Okay, there’s a few issues I have with my pacing, but this act was taken in whole from my original screenplay, as it still worked within the concept of Binge Worthy! Act 2 is about the same, then it’s to new material. My concern right now is just getting this whole thing finished and moving to the next draft, with timing improvements and subtext in the dialogues, etc.
My Act 1 is 15 pages, currently, and the revised outline is working out quite well. Only thing I didn’t do as usual is put it all on notecards and then on the wall, a visual of the beats of the outline. I can step back and just look at it.
Although I have done the timeline on chart paper I tape together and each square is a ½ page, the notecard method works.

<b align=”center”>MODULE 4 – LESSON 2: WRITE ACT 1
“What I learned doing this assignment is…?”
ASSIGNMENT:
Write Act 1 in the next two days!
1. With each scene in your Outline, transfer it to your writing program and write the scene.
2. Continue to do scene after scene until you have Act 1 complete.
3. Do a quick edit, but try not to make the words perfect. We’ll do that in the final draft.
4. We’re not posting the first drafts of any of the Acts. But please tell us how you used the High-Speed Writing Rules and your insights about writing a first draft.
