Alyssa’s High Speed Writing Rules
One Sentence Vision: To be the best writer I can be and a go-to writer in the industry, crafting scripts that become successful movies and make a lasting impact on people.
What I learned from this assignment is…how to push through and focus on moving forward even when I’m not totally happy with the words/dialogue.
How the process went: I usually discover my scene(s) as I write so I found myself skimming my outline a bit to add a quick scene. I’ll have to watch that. But as to the high speed rules, I like them and I think once I get into the groove it will be effective for me. The scene I wrote took about 10 minutes and, except for a few tweaks (whoops), I tried not to go backwards. I think setting a timer for each scene and just steamrolling through it will help me stay on track so I don’t get stuck in an editing loop.

WIM Module 5, Lesson 2
Lenore Bechtel’s High Speed Writing Rules
My vision: I want to create enough salable screenplays that an agent will want to market my work and recommend me for writing assignments.
What I learned from doing this assignment is that I now have the ability concentrate on writing quickly and leaving dialogue I’d like to rewrite. Thank goodness, I got my Final Draft software working correctly before I continued with my first draft. Today I finished the first act, working in 4 hours and 5 minutes, working in segments of 1 hr. 15 min., 1 hr. 1 min., and 49 minutes. I could have worked longer, but felt the end of the first act was a good place to stop.

Module 5 Lesson 2: High Speed Writing
Marguerite Langstaff: The Billionaire in 501
Vision: I want to learn to write and market movie scripts.
Vision: What I learned doing this assignment was: I anticipate this to be a warm up for the next month of writing.
State/activity: I’m going to be great at the high speed writing model.

Lloyd’s High Speed Writing Rules
One Sentence Vision: Working hard to become the best writer I can be and as a result I do become the best writer in Hollywood!
What I learned from this assignment is…How to ignore the compulsion to make the scene perfect and move on to the next scene. I also discovered I missed quite a bit in my first draft!
How the process went: <font face=”inherit”>I am not the fastest writer and I tend to get bogged down on details </font>which<font face=”inherit”> takes away from the bigger picture. I am trying to get away from that very bad habit!</font>

Veronica Turowski’s High Speed Writing Rules
My Vision: I want to be a successful writer who writes several scripts yearly and then sells them to producers who create my vision for the big screen.
What I learned from doing this assignment is it’s possible to write faster because I have an outline to follow. My concern is when I get to the dialogue where I don’t know what happens when someone attends a séance.
-
Margaret’s High Speed Writing
Vision: To be the best faith-based screenwriter
What I learned: I have heard Hal say many times not to worry about being perfect, still hard to break the 4th grade teacher’s voice in my head. There is a freedom in writing when you allow yourself to write without internally judging for quality.

Urgh, not tweaking/word-smithing etc is like asking me not to scratch an itch!
I’m trying to bold things I know I have to come back to and keep it moving forward.

BRIAN BULL – High Speed Writing Rules
VISION!!!
My ultimate goal is to get my scripts from my hands to the SILVER SCREEN!!“What I learned from doing this assignment is…
I am having a lot of fun with this. I’m not writing so much as I am cutting and pasting from my outline to my script, but I know that is part of the process. Just get the information from the outline over to the script format as quickly as you can.ASSIGNMENT
The process of writing ACT1 was a piece of cake!!!

Melissa Barreca’s High Speed Writing Rules
My Vision: Melissa Barreca is one of the most sought after writers in the movie industry because of the artistry of her writing, professionalism and exceptional ability to tell important, entertaining, joyful, and heartbreaking stories that inspire audiences and become legendary classics.
What I learned doing this assignment is…
I just enjoy myself writing too much and I end up getting sucked into an almost trance like state at the computer, hyper focused on the story. I believe being mindful of these rules will help me be more productive in the end.
Tell us how it went using the rules.
I thought it was helpful to give myself permission to make a note and come back later to anything that wasn’t flowing in the moment. And also helpful to not feel like my dialogue had to be perfect. Especially since it’s a period piece and the correct vocabulary will need some research.

Adrienne Watkins – High Speed Writing Rules Module 2 Lesson 2
My Vision: I am going to work as hard as I reasonably am able to succeed at script writing to be recognized by multiple movie producers as a skilled script writer, and to have my scripts produced worldwide.
What I have learned from this assignment is high speed writing test my imagination and flow of thought, sticking to the outline.
