Subject line: Jan’s 5 seasons
WIL: my brain froze first time in this class. I started to think and rethink, and experienced a writer’s block. I got I even got cranky and held monologues about the nonsense of designing 4 more seasons already. Nothing came. But, I think by the deep work in module 1 and the final FW, I am so deeply sown in that I worked overnight in my sleep and in the morning 4 seasons were ready to be roughly tuned and written down. here we go.
S 1: THIRST – Steal ,coming soon.
S2 : THIRST – Revenge
Somebody from the cobweb or WM-deal conspiracy is cleaning up in town, (The conspiracy strikes back) Petra (homicide), recovering in hospital, learns she will never walk again without clutches, if so.
Oliver is suddenly needed to investigate FOR his family not against, who is killed one after the other.
Johan publicly confesses mistakes had been made in his Water Mill management, nevertheless does not step down and is even backed by an international consortium of potable water producers who are lobbying for him – water will – and must – become an asset.
The Water Mill produces as a sign of a good will and learning curve a traveling exhibition of photos made Marie „landscape before and after“- her pics when she was educated in the Mill and did beauty shots of the landscape and then when she shows the landscape as is. The presentation goes viral and the eco activists are sudden enemies, try to ghost her. Cancel culture kicks in.
Oliver negotiates his future in the army – away from war zones and pub brawls- what do they have to offer? The general has an attractive offer in the capitol but first he must return to the MP HQ – Stefanie suspects foul play – again.
Team Oliver fight for the Water Mill to regain it’s reputation, they are foul played again. Yet finally find the „cleaner“ and her link to the master mind behind the unmerciful idea of „no water for free“
S3 : THIRST – Future
Stefanie becomes pregnant, Oliver is assigned from the MP HQ (Hannover) to the capitol in Berlin – commutes 4 days a week. Marie triggers discussion if she should get pregnant too and to have and raise the babies almost together.
Stefanie gives birth; a day later her baby is exchanged for another one and taken from the h.ospital. When Stefanie and the baby obviously do not match nor like each other, a bloodtest shows it’s a „raven child“. Oliver and Marie investigate that the „other“ mother was picked up and transported to her apartment only to disappear from there. Oliver pleads for help from his US and CZ soldier buddies to assist to find traces.
Oliver tries to acclimatize and find his stance in the Capitol and has his problems to understand this very different war zone of politics and lobbyism. Yet he finds traces in the water lobby and inside the two parties, one that is in fact lobbying and the other one that is pushing merciless towards the zero tolerance aim of water control.
Marie confronts her father Hans who in the case of the raven baby has no responsibility. Marie uses this period of weakness to take over Hans’s seat in the Water Mill.
A party we haven’t met yet contacts Stefanie and describes the ongoing deal they wish to be followed by her, believing she wants the baby in good custody. In the back ground of the caller we see a nanny obviously wit desert back grinds.
S 4: THIRST New Endings
Clarice returns in a wheel chair, half face and body reproduced by top cosmetic surgeons, yet she has to speak through an AI generated voice Modul tied to her brain. Having her back in town is no good sign.
Oliver leaves Berlin, this war is too stinky and dirty for him. He seeks a military position closer to hometown which is discussed yet not to decided.
Marie becomes pregnant, she will loose the baby only a few month later in a car accident – foul play or bad luck? Hans is devastated and the theory that Clarice has skin in this revenge makes him make bad decisions.
S 5 : THIRST 4 Thirst
Marie takes over as Chairwoman of the advisory board and introduces herself as one that will be permanently on the premise.
Oliver and Marie feel that some of Stefanie’s advice is „kind of weird“ and has a new not convincing quality. They decide to quietly observe.
Oliver wins the tender call for the new security services in the Water Mill. Marie is happy as she had totally no skin in this decision. He plans to leave the army and run a security company in hometown and the Mill.
Stefanie gets in contact with Clarice and is curious and ambitious if she can help her to find a way out of the life long misery. In fact Stefanie seeks to find out if Clarice is involved in her child’s kidnapping
Stefanie gets kidnapped by Clarice. And no, Clarice is a different party, she wants to play the kidnapper for her own succcess.
Oliver, Marie and Stefanie’s baby must overcome this and find peace. And yet …. There is a murder out there who must pay for killing Hans, Marie’s father.

KZ’s Five Seasons
What I learned doing this assignment… is that by filling in the blanks with placeholders, you start brainstorming creative solutions you didn’t know existed in your bag of tricks.
SEASON 1: WHO KILLED RAYMOND?
After becoming the target of a murder investigation, there is new urgency for Oliver to fill in his memory’s blank spots. Oliver suspects that he himself may be guilty. Some evidence points to Nolan Harris, a best-selling author of supernatural thrillers, who becomes insanely jealous of anyone who flirts with Tony, his much younger boyfriend.
- Will Oliver suffer Raymond’s fate now that he’s fallen in love, and tries to free Tony from Nolan’s jealous rages?
- Why is Michelle, the Superintendent, working so hard to implicate Tony in the murder?
- Is there some truth to the rumors on the literary blogosphere that Nolan killed Raymond so that he could write about death more realistically?
- Who is the mysterious character who seems to be stalking Oliver?
Oliver catches Tony in a series of lies, which are baffling until he cracks the mystery: there are two universes. The one he lives in as a fictional character, and the other inhabited by the real people Nolan based his characters on. In Nolan’s books, Tony is part werewolf, so that on a full moon, he becomes a serial killer. Tony kills Michelle. Just as Tony is about to murder again, Oliver deletes parts of the manuscript, and then rewrites the ending, saving himself and Tony and reviving Michelle. In the real world, Oliver’s counterpart dies, and Tony walks out. Nolan’s agent accepts the re-written manuscript. Nolan Harris is taken into custody for Raymond’s murder, placing the future of his fictional characters in jeopardy.
SEASON 2: MUTINY ON THE BLANK PAGE
Nolan is free while his case moves to trial. Sales of his books go up because people believe that he really did murder someone, and so his credibility has increased. Nolan’s agent urges him to create a new character, so he does: a female ___________, who terrorizes the other fictional characters.
- Some characters recognize that they are fictional, but others refuse to believe it.
- Some blame Oliver for rocking the boat, rather than living out the script he was handed.
- Some characters want Nolan, the dictator, in charge of their lives once more.
Tony returns. Nolan tries to take back power, both from his creations, and from the real-life people, like the literary blogger, who are creating obstacles.
In the fictional world, the new supernatural character is defeated, but now Nolan has a new problem: he’s left without an idea and his publisher is eager to capitalize on the demand for his work.
When real-life Tony leaves again, Nolan turns to his old tricks of getting revenge through his writing. The season ends with fictional Tony killing another character, and Nolan locking up the manuscript so that Oliver and company can’t reverse the novel’s plot. The book is published and Oliver and company have to live with what has been written.
SEASON 3: LITERARY APPROPRIATION
Nolan’s novel is selling well until a purist blogger claims that, just as no fiction writer is allowed to engage in cultural appropriation, no one can write supernatural creatures because they don’t really exist. Nolan tries to get his own book banned to increase sales, but he’s caught in the act, and it backfires.
Nolan realizes that he’s going to have to arrange a werewolf-like killing because only that will satisfy the purists. He manipulates Oliver into allowing the fictional Tony to slip into the real world.
Nolan turns Tony onto the characters who are mutinying. The fictional characters are still dependent on real people writing the stories. They recruit people who write fan fiction to give them sidebars they want.
Although the fictional characters detest their creator, they realize that if he’s convicted of murder, it will be bad for them, so they have to figure out how to get rid of the evidence that implicates Nolan in Raymond’s murder. They devise a technique to move into the real world when people carry a book featuring one of their characters into the room.
SEASON 4: KILL ALL YOUR DARLINGS
Oliver figures out how to put his work out into the real world under his own name, without Nolan’s help. He tries to get published; other characters (maybe a new nemesis?) try to prevent it.
A character from another novel invades their space, and then another, and another. They all want to be given their freedom in Oliver’s novel, but the plot is becoming confused. Oliver has to “kill all his darlings” to create something sellable.
SEASON 5: WAR OF THE WORLDS
Fictional characters go to war with real-life people. Oliver has to figure out a way to get a final novel into print featuring all the characters who want to be saved. He starts out with the best of intentions, but in order to make the novel a good read, he has to put his characters through hell. So he winds up being just as much of a cruel god as Nolan was. Oliver figures out how to live in the real world and have a relationship with the real Tony. He puts all the fictional characters back into the books and gets a publishing deal as Nolan dies.

What I learned doing this assignment was that it seems daunting until I slowed down and completed each task as instructed. From the building blocks, it was pretty simple to write the description, because all the info is right in front of you. This gives you a visual for your seasons, like taking your mind on a mental visual of the show from season to season. I edited several times although we were instructed to treat this as a rough draft.
SEASON 1:
Tony Jones, founder and VP of Jones Farmacy, is fed up with being overlooked and undervalued at Jones Farmacy, a cannabis company that he and his father co-founded. He demands more respect and responsibility from his father, Willie, who is hesitant to give it to him due to Tony’s reckless past with alcohol. Meanwhile, Willie and Elaine, his wife of 25 years, are planning an overseas hiatus from the business. Elaine encourages Willie to give Tony a shot at running the company in the interim. Before Willie gets a chance to discuss this with Tony, Henry, Willie’s estranged nephew, arrives in town with proof that Willie misused Henry and his sister Heather’s inheritance to launch Jones Farmacy. Henry threatens to go to the League of Cannabis Commissioners (LOCC), a 15-person panel that serves as the governing board over the cannabis industry in Oregon. Since Willie is unable to pay the sum that Henry is demanding, Henry insists that he be made CEO of Jones Farmacy, effective immediately. This news sends Tony over the edge. He resigns immediately and accepts a position with his father’s number one competitor, Green Diamonds.
Success comes quickly for Tony in his new role, and he begins to build a reputation for himself in the canna world, independent of his father. With the influence of Pete Roberts, his new boss, he is able to reconnect with his ex-wife who is Pete’s daughter, Noelle, and their son, Taj. Meanwhile, Henry is struggling to adjust to the demands of CEO while keeping the Vegas loan sharks off his back. Pete is enjoying surpassing Willie as the top black owned cannabis business, something he was never quite able to do in the past.
As the competition between Green Diamonds and Jones Farmacy continues to grow, Tony’s personal relationships begin to crumble. Tony decides to shift his attention into building new business at Green Diamonds. This gives Pete Roberts time to focus on regaining his seat on the LOCC panel. Tony’s business savvy and vast knowledge of cannabis legalities, attracts the attention of the heavy hitters in canna world, which launches him into a life he had never imagined for himself. It’s not long before he has the attention of the Governor, who reaches out to him about a very special assignment she has tailored just for him.
SEASON 2
The Commissioners are anything but tolerant, as Tony tries to adjust to his new role as Chief Deputy of the LOCC. Tony still wants to mend things and move forward with Noelle, but she is not on board. The LOCC infighting over jurisdictions causes unexpected headaches for Tony and Governor Howard, who are ready to do some suspending and reassigning. Governor Howard encourages Tony to act at his own discretion and not wait on her permission. As he grows from a timid newbie to an authoritative asshole, the pushback from the other commissioners becomes nonexistent. Over at Jones Farmacy, Heather learns of Henry blackmailing Willie and pressures Henry to step down as CEO, as she also threatens to go to the LOCC with this information. Cynthia, Tony’s younger sister is vying for an opportunity to expand Jones Farmacy into Canada, but she needs his help.
Tony who is now feeling himself in his role as Chief Deputy is starting to draw complaints from the Commissioners. They threaten to strike, which backs Governor Howard into a corner. She is forced to make a hard decision. So as not to seem disloyal, she nominates Tony for the Secretary of Cannabis position, which would send him to DC, and relieve him of his duties as Chief Deputy.
SEASON 3
Season Three opens with Tony accepting the nomination for Secretary of Cannabis, while currently still maintaining his duties as Chief Deputy of the LOCC. The mayhem among the other Commissioners has died down since Tony is always away in Washington DC or on a teleconference with the Senate. John, Heather and Henry’s long-lost father, shows up after not seeing them in years. Henry is not quite as pleased as Heather and doesn’t hold back with letting John know. Willie and John reconnect, and Willie suggests John take over as interim CEO so they can take down Pete Roberts, just like the old days. John eventually admits to Henry that he gave Willie permission to use their inheritance, if needed. Henry is unforgiving. Over at Green Diamonds, Noelle is trying to keep her mystery brothers as low key as possible so that Pete’s only two beneficiaries are her and her mother. That’s if her mother is around to collect. Willie and Governor Howard clash over her defense of another Commissioner’s racist remarks. Willie reaches out to Tony to be the voice of reason. Tony is so preoccupied on his pursuit to DC that he isn’t much help. Willie wants a public apology, that none of the LOCC feel is necessary, including Pete. Tony’s approval rate in the Senate is 29-1. He invites the whole family to DC for his swearing in ceremony.
SEASON 4
Heather’s highly anticipated book about the family, LIKE THE JONESES, is finally finished, and Tony fears it could cause problems for him in DC. His first few weeks in DC have been busy but he managed to make time to meet the gorgeous Cypress Roccio. They are inseparable right out the gate. He tries to keep the book a secret from her, but she learns about it from social media. Tony and Cypress both miss their respective homes, but avoid discussing it much. Heather’s book exposes Willie’s debt to the illegal farmers in California, which is the actual reason he needed the inheritance. This puts a dent in the relationship of Heather and Cynthia. In other news, Tony is questioned about his sobriety, and has to defend his right to consume medical marijuana when he is off duty. John has secured some new business deals, and is doing fairly well running Jones Farmacy. Willie’s annual checkup uncovers some concerns, and the doctor asks him to stay put, which puts a dent in yet another attempt for he and Elaine to finally settle in St. Maarten. Tony and Cypress toy with the idea of marriage and children. Tony books a trip for two to Morocco to ask Cypress’ father for her hand in marriage.
SEASON 5
Tony and Cypress return from Morocco married. While Willie and Elaine are uncertain about the future of their marriage. They attempt to reconcile while Elaine is in Portland short term. John needs a kidney, or he will die in less than a year. The twins scramble to locate potential donors. The family makes plans to visit DC for Tony’s reception, Willie, Elaine, Cynthia, Heather, and Henry. While there, we learn that Tony will be involved in foreign negotiations to free a young US citizen who is being wrongfully detained for drug possession in a Cape Verdean jail. Cypress unexpectedly shares with the Jones family, that she is pregnant and that she plans to spend the entirety of her pregnancy in Morocco, with or without Tony. Cynthia and Elaine are livid over Willie’s decision to donate his kidney to John without consulting them first. Things get heated when Henry and Heather come to Willie’s defense. Willie and Elaine reconcile and agree to a 50/50 living arrangement. He is headed to meet her in the Caribbean when his plane goes missing. Tony uncovers information that may tie Cypress’ family to the trafficking of illegal drugs from Morocco to the US, via Cape Verde.
