I learned to dissect the traits from the character much more clearer and even a “normal” person or some one we think as normal can have extreme traits.

I learned that the more diverse the character is, the more interesting they are. Or the more annoying they can be to me personally. LOL.

    Person 1:

    Brilliant

    Charming

    Hard-headed

    Manipulative

    Person 2:

    Intelligent

    Creative

    Defensive

    Selfish

    Person 3:

    Fun

    Bitter

    Entitled

    Harsh/Biting

Testing: No test was done due to none of these people are really available to me at the last minute and would probably be flummoxed if I tried.

What I learned from this exercise was to look deeper than the surface and try to find the many different layers. Just because I don’t like someone doesn’t mean they don’t have any likable traits.

    Person 1

Traits: Arrogant, Delusional, self-serving liar, Charming

    Person 2

    Traits: Arrogant, Ignorant, Insecure, Combative

    Person 3

Traits: Friendly, Unassuming, Observant, Holds things in.

NOTE: None of these people are currently accessible to me, therefore the “testing” was done based upon conversations I remember.

Person 3: Self-absorbed, clueless, talented, selfish.

What I learned to improve my writing is creating 3-D characters by considering a panoply of traits and not those which are self-evident and obvious.

What I learned from this is that observing and remembering other people and animals’ unique personality quirks – the good, the bad, and everything in between can increase your understanding of people, and a range of characters to draw from when needed
