    Paul’s Character Intrigue.

    4. Vision of success from this program: I want to write scripts that become movies that change people’s lives.

    5. What I learned from this assignment is that, once again, it allowed me to explore my character and come up with traits and sub-text as well as new twists in my story. However, there is one twist I came up with that might be too big a coincidence (the relationship between the Protagonist and Antagonist). But, as Hal says, “different versions of these layers will naturally emerge.”

    2. Character name: Lilia.

    Role: Protagonist.

Hidden agenda: Avenging the death of her daughter is her priority, but she also wants to get revenge on the DEA agent with whom she had an affair in the past and who dumped her.

    Mhmd’s Character Intrigue

My Vision: I will keep creating constantly and effectively; in order to be the most demanded and influential glorified writer within the industry and with the audience.

What I learned from doing this assignment is..

How lovely is hunting My Characters Intrigue layers!

    …………

    Character Name: 84

    Role: Protagonist

Conspiracies: There is always a secret plan going on between two parties, these two parties are his two brains that are united by one mental system.

Secrets: He hides his special mutation from the guards in order to survive inside the colony. He also keeps the secret of the gap that leads outside the sealed colony, and what is worse is that he knows what there are horrors outside of it, but this is a secret that no one should know about, or for anyone to know that he knows it.

Hidden agendas: Later on, he will have his own secret plan and sophisticated counter-strategy in order to take control of the colony, and prevent them from leaving, without the others even realizing it.

How that character’s subtext might show up in my movie:

At any moment; The word he says, the action he takes, the decision he makes, is just one of his already ready arsenal of words, actions and decisions.

    ……….

    Character Name: 3

    Role: Antagonist

Hidden agendas: He has a secret plan to escape with his criminal cult from the colony, and colonize the world.

Competition: He is indeed the head of a secret criminal cult, but will do anything to fulfill his ambition to rule the world.

Conspiracies: He has plans in advance for almost everything; He plots with Spider to subdue 84, and he arranges to plot with 84 to get out of the colony if he succeeds in subduing him, and so on.

How that character’s subtext might show up in my movie: Everything he does, can be seen as a possible part of his plan. No one knows his ultimate ambition, and at the same time he will not hesitate to cross all red lines for that.

    ……….

    Character Name: Spider

    Role: Triangle character

Secrets: He is a secret agent implanted within the colony. Despite his remarkable skills that he shows, this is something that no one can know about.

Unspoken Wound: There is a professional loss, then a huge emotional loss, and he is now on a mission whose real purpose is to try to prove his worth and regain his status.

Secret Identity: Secret Agent of the World Order.

How that character’s subtext might show up in my movie: While he is carrying out criminal missions or planning with 3, he is careful to achieve what helps him in the mission for which he came. Perhaps he takes research steps about who killed some members of the sect, while he is the one who neutralized them when he suspected that they had revealed or doubted about him.

    Raquel Solomon’s Character Intrigue

I want to go deeper into my writing to create screenplays where characters of depth are placed in compelling journeys with a fresh voice that Hollywood producers as well as independent film cos. know they must make!

What I learned from doing this assignment is main characters in a screenplay should have mult-layers to them to make them more realistic and this can help add to surprising plot points.

    Character Name: Miri:

    Role: Protagonist

Unspoken Wound: Before the war, knowing her younger brother was ill, she delayed going home in order to play a gig. When she returned home she was shocked to learn that he had died.

Deception: uses her role as violinist to have access to Nazi officers club outside the ghetto to become a smuggler of food and later weapons.

Miri’s unspoken wound shows up in her motivation to do everything in order to save Jacob, a young boy in the ghetto she has allowed herself to become close to. She becomes the mistress to Heinrich in order to save Jacob. Later when she is suspected by Heinrich of smuggling she helps hatch a plan to help Jacob escape.

Miri’s deception is to act grateful for her job playing violin for Nazis Officers as she has access to food and better conditions. She becomes flirty and friendly to them to gain their trust so she can have access to club when they are not there in order to practice. She can then sneak away to smuggle.

    Character Name: Heinrich

    Role: Antagonist

Hidden Agenda: Will send young Jacob to Treblinka if Miri does not agree to be his mistress.

Secret: Alcoholic in order to cope with inflicting death.

Heinrich’s hidden agenda shows up when after Miri’s many refusals to him he threatens her that he will send Jacob to die if she does not comply with his wishes.

His alcohol use is seen at various times but when he catches Miri smuggling guns he is drunk which enables her to get the upper hand and kill him.

    Character Name: Avi

    Role: Miri’s boyfriend

Unspoken Wound: His religious world is destroyed and he must adjust to ghetto life.

Secret identity: He changes his appearance to look secular to have more of a chance to survive but has not given up his faith and maintains belief in a just god.

Avi’s wound shows up in his conversations with Miri which have a lot of mysticism and Kabbala references.

His secret identity is a strong believer in a just afterlife and therefore he will sacrifice his life to help Jacob escape by being a decoy to Nazi soldiers. When Jacob is being lifted and hidden in a supply truck Avi disturbs the soldiers nearby. They shoot him and Jacob’s truck leaves the ghetto.

    Brandyn Cross’ Character Intrigue

My vision for success in this program is to develop and hone my skills to the extent that my screenplays will be produced and widely viewed.

What I learned from this assignment is a further means of developing much deeper layers into the principal characters.

    Role: Alex

Secrets: He has some deep secrets, but he’s not the one who’s keeping the secrets. Rather, they’re being kept from him, and it’s Sandy who knows the truth.

Deception: He is deceiving himself, by denying the realities of his life- and death. Also by trying to deny the psychic abilities he has developed since his accident/death.

Unspoken Wound: He doesn’t remember anything about his personal life; he’s consumed with his work. Yet, the scars from his personal life eat at him, even though he doesn’t recognize what’s at the heart of the problem.

    Role: Sandy

Hidden Agendas: To get Alex to remember his family, and his death and its collateral consequences, to prepare him to cross over to heaven.

Conspiracies: He is commissioned by God to help Alex face the realities of who he is, and his actions. But, since he has to arrive at these realizations by himself, neither Sandy nor the other ghost children are allowed to reveal to Alex the connection they have to him.

Secrets: Sandy is Alex’s son. Alex is indirectly responsible for the deaths of the child ghosts he is introduced to.

Deception: He leads Alex to believe he has simply developed psychic abilities

Unspoken Wound: He feels a resentment toward Alex for both his own death, and for Alex having committed suicide. Yet, until he is assigned to prepare Alex for entry into heaven, he hadn’t fully realized that. So, it’s no accident that God assigned Sandy to work with Alex, because it’s also intended to help Sandy come to terms with his feelings toward his father.

Secret Identity: Sandy is the ghost of Alex’s son, but can’t tell Alex that. It’s something Alex has to realize on his own.
