Alyssa’s Finished Act 1
One Sentence Vision: To be the best writer I can be and a go-to writer in the industry, crafting scripts that become successful movies and make a lasting impact on people.
I’m a few pages in to act two and finding it more difficult to stay focused. My brain wants to go off in a bunch of other directions as I discover new possible scenes and second guess my original ones, so I’m making notes but trying to stick to my outline for this first pass. Maybe things will change in the second draft, I’m not sure yet. I appreciate the high speed process and rules but it’s definitely not coming as easy as I’d like, even though I have a strong road map. Pushing through!

WIM Module 5, Lesson 5
Lenore Bechtel’s Finished Act one
My vision: I want to create enough salable screenplays that an agent will want to market my work and recommend me for writing assignments.
What I learned from doing this assignment is that when I get my groove going, I don’t want to stop.
And I didn’t! My first draft is finished, thanks to high speed writing and my detailed outline. That puts me several days ahead of the assignments, so I’m wavering about whether to spend the next assignment times rewriting an old script or starting a new one I already have outlined.
Whichever I choose, the purpose will be to incorporate what I’ve learned in this Writing Incredible Movies into every screenplay I write from now on.

Melissa Barreca’s Finished Act 1
My vision: Melissa Barreca is one of the most sought after writers in the movie industry because of the artistry of her writing, professionalism and exceptional ability to tell important, entertaining, joyful, and heartbreaking stories that inspire audiences and become legendary classics.
What I learned from doing this assignment is…/How it’s going: I have been having lots of life distractions lately that have prevented me from focusing on this project, but because of the nature of this quick writing process and the expectations for the first draft, it has been easy to jump in and out for short periods of time to keep moving forward. I have been pleased at how much the outline informs the writing and helps keep it on track. I never have to struggle to know what to write next. It’s almost like the story telling me what I need to write, which is wonderful.
