Pam’s Likeability / Relatability / Empathy
One-Sentence Vision: I will turn my ideas into produced movies and live a happy, successful life as a writer and industry professional.
What I learned from doing this assignment: I needed to make my characters more likable!EVE GARDER – Protagonist
- Likability: She’s concerned about others when she suspects the anti-aging night cream everyone in town is
using is dangerous. She’s nice to her co-workers at the ad agency. - Relatability: A younger, less-experienced employee gets promoted over her.
- Empathy: When her boyfriend asks her out to a nice restaurant for dinner, she shares her excitement and
anticipation beforehand with her best friend, only to have him break up with her (on her birthday!)
– – – – – – - JESSICA LEZARDE – Antagonist
- Likability: She wants to help others by sharing her beauty secrets; she is complimentary of others and boosts
confidence. - Relatability: she has the same challenges as other middle-aged adults (watching weight, resistance to aging, etc)
- Empathy: She cares for her sick husband.
